Eureka and further updates to it should not be or have been intentionally delayed

It is unacceptable that eureka was delayed from launching with patch 4.2. Further updates to eureka are now planned for subsequent .5* patches.

This is unacceptable because the development team is getting too comfortable with how they spread out the content. There is too much content split up into minor updates such as eureka.

The players are not benefiting from appropriate updates containing significant amounts of content. The development team has become far too lazy and there seems to be no communication from the development team to the players base when making decisions, such as delaying eureka intentionally.

This means with each future patch, in order to play all current content a player has to continually pay the subscription monthly to play content when it is relevant, this does not fit the progression intended which allows players to take breaks between patches.

Content should not be intentionally delayed further because it affects the players desire to continue playing consistently and any further eureka update should be reassessed and placed in major patch updates (4.3, 4.4) .

This post is to provide feedback to the development team that they have been making lazy decisions and avoiding interaction with their players in regards to making decisions about content and content release schedules

The problem is you release too much content too quickly and players can rush through it then end up with periods of drought and having little to do till the next patch. They are spread out so that players get to enjoy all of the content especially ones that may not play very regularly but still don't like to fall behind.

The timeframe takes all kind of players in to consideration whether heavy gamers or less frequent.

while i'm quite pissed this has been delayed from 4.1.5 I think it is better than the content is spead out though the patch cycle to even out the patch lull. The only people this disadvantages is those people that like to blaze though the content in a month then unsub until the next patch (which for SE is unhelpful)

It comes out in two weeks, relax.

I actually prefer when the content is spread out like this.

You can focus on the one they release. Sure, waiting is boring, I waiting Eureka for so long as well as you all, but I'm totally okay with it and I think I'll enjoy it even more (if it's good of course).

It doesn't make me feel like I have to wait 6 month again for something new.

Also I'd rather they delay it then rush it and release it before it's ready. We don't need another Diadem (even though I kind of liked it).

plus i don't think the devs are "lazy". they are always actively working on content.

SE wants the players to pay the subscription monthly. I don't see how they want players to take breaks between patches. Fitting the progression intended is kind of relevant. They continuously add new content to continue the progression. There will be people with 2-3 relics before some of us even have our first. I am bummed with the delay purely because I find the relics to be fulfilling as I hate extremes and Savage so I never have a relevant weapon.

Just wait until it comes out and it’s diadem 2.0, this time with even more FATEs

Spreading out can be a good thing. It allowed people to focus on Sigmascape Savage and Byakko.
Now that more groups are clearing faster, in 2 weeks there will be more content to use up their time.

Yeah i personally liked Diadem as a system too, just didn't feel compelled to do it alot. Diadem 2.0 helped it a bit but was also at the last stretch adn seemed kinda pointless to do it past a few times to check it out. So to me this sounds like Diadem but "stand alone" and i wont lie i kinda like the sound of that =D

I kind of wish they had explored the gathering part of Diadem some more, or made the zone feel more lively in general. I'm really curious about Eureka.

I'd rather them take their time and get it right with any luck than rush it and it turn to nobody playing it like Diadem. Some people just like to complain about anything lol.

Is this your first subscription based game? That's...how it works.

As a new"ish" player (started around 4.05), I really like how they spread out the content. At level 70 there are SO many different things you can do and piling it on at one time can get overwhelming. The large patches are already packed with enough content to keep anyone who doesn't play for 8 hours a day busy for quite awhile. That, along with leveling Gatherers and Crafters, unlocking all the extras behind side-quest walls, beast tribes, etc. There is absolutely no shortage of things to do. I have to continuously trim things off my daily "to-do" list because I just don't have the time to do everything I want to.

It's a subscription based game. Subscription revenue is how the fund the game; it stands to logical reason that they are going to tailor their content to keep people sub'd. They aren't providing this experience to us with the goal of going bankrupt..........

I wish this had come out sooner. 13,000 Protean crystals for just the item level 350 weapon?! I don't even want to add up what a full set of Anemo Job Gear is gonna cost you. I haven't gotten far enough yet into this content yet but I already feel its not worth it unless you really really want a Metallic Yellow RDM attire.

I bet it makes Developer's sad when their players call Eureka a "minor update" I've spent every day there this week. Somehow that doesn't seem minor to me :)

It's 1300 not 13000. And you get way more than that alone as you level up to 19. I had my completed weapon and armor sets early into level 19 because I managed to get a kill on Pazuzu.

I think you're playing the wrong game. Most MMO players want more content spread out over time so they have things to enjoy each few weeks they continue to play the game. Don't get me wrong we would all love MORE content even faster. But I think most of us would rather not have all the content dropped and then no updates for half a year. That's literally what WoW would used to do and it felt TERRIBLE.

Keep players subbed = more money and stability. Why would a gaming platform intentionally design a game around allowing players to unsub between patches? Thats foolish in more ways than one, both in the short term and in the longevity of the game. You're arguing for changes from only your point of view. I'm even half suspect this is a trolling thread...

If SE really think content is relevant for a sub then they're not very smart. Progression is, not content. The way they tie relics to eureka, I'm more than happy to wait until next expansion. If eureka still relevant and unchanged then, I'd just stop caring about it or progression. I like Diadem way way more than Eureka, it was a much better system if they want to tie relics in. Only thing missing was getting rid the queueing, like Eureka allows solo queue. I don't know how they can mess this so bad that basically halt progression for catch up content. I've been off sub since they've decided to delay relics, trying this new system on free login to see how much I can catch up, well... not likely. I'll sub when it's a new expansion and actually relevant to spend time (=sub) for that content.

Except ironically that is exactly how FFXIV is designed (i.e. large infrequent content drops that are ultimately disposable) ... if they want more people to stay subbed then they need to release relevant, and long lasting, content far more frequently. The greatest shame of Eureka IMO is that despite being an instanced zone that could be frequently updated (e.g. new story / side quests, rotation of enemies, different NM spawns, etc. *) it is yet another static and unchanging side instance that works on a very basic (and very poorly designed IMO) gameplay loop and will ultimately be forgotten (unless meaningfully and frequently updated).

* One game I've been playing recently is Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia, and while it is little more than a (good quality + FF fan service) F2P grinder, the one thing that has kept it interesting is the frequent (every 1 - 2 weeks) updates and content additions. And most of the additions aren't even that much, just some new side story, a new character (but collecting characters is kind of its thing), and a new (or re-worked) enemy type... now imagine if FFXIV had content like that, where you could login and find something a little bit different or new every week or 2, a little more story (to the mystery of Eureka) with some small new reward(s) attached; would that not make keeping a sub worth it (at least far more so than the repainted disposable content every few months that we currently get)?
