Plenary Indulgence is still weird...

Am I the only one who feels like the WHM level 70 Cap Stone ability is just "Meh" at best. I realize it sees some Savage use but that just doesn't sit right with me. Why can't it just convert the existing WHM HoTs? I would use it more if it was:

Convert the effect of Medica II cast by you into Regen on all party members within 30 yalms.
Additional Effect: Heal Party members under the effect of Regen cast by you. Cure Potency 300.

This way you could use Plenary to upgrade your HoT on the party instead of recasting Medica II or cast Medica II again anyway for more healing. It is a lot less cumbersome and would see so much more usage.

Meh. I've grown to be fine with it. I use it when I have a chance but WHM doesn't really need it in most situations.

Yep. "Meh" is an upgrade, considering the first version was "lol, is this April 1?"

It's still a badly designed skill and it still goes entirely against the stated aims of the Stormblood job changes and UI updates: to not have people need to look at status bars to determine what their spells will do. That's why job gauges were added. Meanwhile, the left hand was giving us a spell that requires looking at everyone's buffs to see who it will even heal.

But you can get some use out of it now during periods of sustained AoE damage, or just as an extra boost on top of Medica to get people topped up.

I wish they made PI the level 62 skill and Thin Air the level 70 skill. Thin Air is definitely powerful enough to warrant the slot as a Capstone skill. Plenary Indulgence, not at all.

Yeah, that's why I don't really care anymore. I remember when WHM changes were announced. I was one of the many who literally freaked out. WHM is so good right now I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Should probably stay this way unless/until healer balance changes and... healers have so much healing right now, it's a bit silly. You can kind of see the power creep in how many ridiculous healing mechanics there are now.

I think this skill flew under the radar with SE as much as it did with the community at first.

I'm not complaining about it being available earlier for level sync stuff, though.

Patch 4.3: "Due to unforeseen gameplay changes we have adjusted Divine Benison to better fit the WHM intended play style. We have also made changes to to Plenary Indulgence to help streamline the Lily system"

Divine Benison: 2.5 second cast time added. Shield amount reduced to 10% from 15%. Now costs x amount of MP.

Plenary Indulgence: Now can only be cast when you have at least 1 Lily.

But they left Secret of the Lily II alone, right?

I imagine the amount of times someone has said "I got my Assize back faster due to Secrets of the Lily II and it helped me save my raid!" can be counted on a single hand *Coughs softly*

Indeed - and I won't certainly complain either! Just kinda amusing that such a powerful skill wouldn't be deemed a capstone-tier skill. This ability can literally save thousands of MP!

Well, it could be better if the timer was not 10s.

You rarely see situation when you need to cast 3 medica in a row.
And this kind of situation happens more in savage (they like those triple raid aoe).

If the timer was something like 1 minutes, at least you could plan "okay now is the perfect moment to use it".

Currently, it's used as a extend free aoe heal.
That's too bad cause, the idea looked great on the paper, putting some healing stack on people and deciding when to detonate it. But 10s isn't enough to make it be what it should have been.

I think this is probably the simplest change short of outright making it a brand new mechanic. Just make the Confession duration longer so they don't just expire because your single Medica II was enough to top the group up with no extra healing needed. Cast three AOE heals over like a minute duration? Okay, you basically get a 4th AOE heal for free. It's not exactly an inspired healing cooldown, but it could be handy for high-mobility periods when Assize is down but raid damage is going out.

Its an amazing skill and adds a party-wide heal to our list of MP-Management Options:

Here is a list (tell me if I am missing any)
1) FreeCure
2) Assize
3) Presence of Mind + Thin Air
4) Lucid Dreaming
5) Planery Indulgence + all other oGCD 0 MP Instant skills (in place of our MP COST skills)
6) MP Potions (when all else fails)

Honestly it wouldn't be so awkwardly meh if the stacks from medica/medica II/cure III had an extended duration or no duration at all. What someone posted above it rarely will you cast three medica in a row and even then everyone is full hp so there's no need for a PI after.

As someone making a conscious effort to incorporate Cure III more often (as one of many who had no real reason to use it before), on-top of being a very DPS centric / proactive healer (where QC-Med/MedII can be a thing), alongside the fact so many dungeons/raids these days have stack-markers, I'm actually alright with PI as a sort of "Did the AoE heal top up fully? No? Then PI and make it so" deal, or as a means to top up damage from a mechanic knowing another is on the way, so PI will stave off the need for another big AoE in its place.

Not saying it's good or anything but I actually use it enough to warrant a place on my bar, which is more than I can say for some other abilities, past and present.

It's weird / meh because generally with two healers you don't need more than one AOE heal (each) to cover things. Due to the ability's short duration it goes off way too fast to be useful.

Good thing not everything involves two healers, then!

The only thing that gets me with it is raidwide damage is spread just far enough apart to where you can't build stacks in most fights without letting everyone sit at near-death HP till the last possible instant. I just forget it exists outside of Omega because of this as its completely worthless with 1 stack.

One stack is the equivalent of a 50% potency buff on a Medica. 450 potency total, that's almost on par with Indomitability at 500.
It's far from being "worthless".

I don't see why people are so obsessed by getting two or three stacks of Confession. It's already quite decent at 1. Sure, it's not Assize, but it's still a nice tool to have in the kit.

I find PI very boring more aoe healing yawn.. I wish confessions, lilies, PI and the gauge were more interactive they all feel tacked on.
