Why dont all dungeons above 50 award poetics?

How come i still have to farm places like wanders palace to get poetics instead of cool dungeons like the vault?

I dont understand why rewards are normalized so people can have more dungeons to choose from when looking to progress.

Or am i missing something, and they do reward poetics and it just doesnt say it in the duty finder.

I just find it weird that with level sync, that every dungeon isnt level synced to 70 and people can just duty finder any level 50+ dungeon they like.

The dungeons from lv15-49, 51-59, 61-69 are levelling dungeons. The lv50/60/70 dungeons did not originally grant XP (and that is still true of lv70 ones). At the fixed point max level dungeons for each expansion character progress is limited gear level vertical progression.

The purpose of the tombstones is to purchase gear relative the max character level in the specific expansion. The levelling dungeons above lv50 drop at least one guaranteed level appropriate gear piece for each player in the dungeon. Thus, instead of requiring you to purchase the gear, you get the gear you need from the dungeon.

So many better ways to farm poetics. Alliance raids are a great way especially LotA which is as fast as a dungeon and gives you 100 poe not including the roulette.

Your missing my point though, they have 30+ dungeons and a system in place to scale players up and down in level, why cut down content to doing 1 alliance raid, or 1 dungeon when you hit max level, when you cna literally open up everything to being a thing to do for progression via the duty roulette?

Why not just normalize the rewards, what exactly would be the difference? If the vault gave 50 poetics would that break the game? What about the Aery, or Sohm Al?

By not making those places rewarding you just set up another situation like MSQ Roulette where down the road youre going to have to force players to do it because they arent worth doing, and i just dont understand why they arent worth doing.

I guess I just don't see the need. You get tons of poetics from other sources without the leveling dungeons awarding them on their own outside of a roulette bonus. I doubt we'll see a point anywhere in the foreseeable future where leveling dungeons become ghost towns because people are jonesing for poetics hard enough to avoid them entirely. Alliance roulette, MSQ roulette, 50/60 roulette... these all give large numbers of poetics daily. I don't even do the MSQ roulette (and I didn't before the change either) and I still get about 1000 poetics every couple of days or so. That's more than enough for my needs.

Right now there are roughly 60 dungeons in the game. There are 22 "leveling" dungeons, and the rest are "cap" dungeons(the current development plan adds 5 leveling and 10 cap dungeons per expansion, so this gap will continue to rise). To expand on Chameleons point, the leveling dungeons drop useful equipment. Now useful doesnt really mean "best" but at the level gotten they are good, whereas the equipment from cap dungeons is usually way behind what the cap currency can buy. Right now i can run the hardest dungeons for level 325 gear, or i can use the currency from there to buy 360s. Now adding more rewards to leveling dungeons wouldnt likely break anything, but i agree that i dont see the need. And if you run the leveling roulette you already get poetics(once per day along with a pittance of the current currency and most of the exp needed to gain a level) for doing these, so they will never really be abandoned.

So there are a lot more ways to collect Poetics then there are leveling dungeons.

Also roulettes are the best way to level for any secondary jobs you may be wanting to level.

If all 50+ dungeons awarded poetics, the community would find out which one was most efficient to run, and everyone would do just that one instance for poetics farming. People who needed a different dungeon for a first time clear might have a harder time without as many roulette queues coming in to help.

Not to mention other ways to earn poetics without having to do dungeons...like beast tribe quests.

Why is everyone Jonesing so hard for poetics? I haven't used poetics for anything meaningful in months......Am I missing something?

YES! Yes you are.
Several valuable materials can be purchased (indirectly) with Poetics, look at your local market board for the prices of Grade 3 Shroud/Thanalan Topsoil.
Or, purchase gear to desynth or hand in the gear to your GCs for seals, which can then be exchanged other desirable materials; coke, hardened sap, petrified logs, etc...

But at the same time, if you dont have a garden(or have one and dont use it) then soil is just something to sell. If you dont craft, then those materials are just something to sell. Considering how few things there are to spend gil on, loading up on extra stuff to sell may not be a priority. If all you buy from your GC is ventures, you dont need a ton of seals. Beyond that, if you arent equipping a level 50/60 character or running through an old relic/anima quest there isnt really all that much direct use for poetics. So... yeah, some people really dont have much use for poetics. Others can never get enough.
