Please remove the beast tribe quest limit

I feel like the limit should not be a thing anymore. I can understand when you had the tribes give out 10 quests each a day but now that they are 3 each (6 with a rep level up) it seems kind of pointless to have. At this point it is just a content block on old content. I guess the main reason I bring this up is because I was working on the old ARR beast tribes and realized I could only do 3-6 quests for them instead of a full set. Just does not make sense to me to have old content blocked because I am keeping up to date on the current dailies.

Totally agree. It already takes forever to build rep and I don't see the point of drawing it out further with quest limit...

you take it off and within 1 month i think 80% of population in ff14 is at max level and rep and thus no one going for mid or low level dungeon because they have no reason to do so, keep that up and new player will get completely left out and soon no one going to play this game because max lvl casual player feel there is nothing to do anymore and move on to other games while the hardcore just keep crafting and grouping with their own guild bubble.

all that left is a bunch of max lvl max rep max equip standing in town doing nothing like every other f2p mmo

you pretty much asking for a daily quest that can be done infinite times lol

I'd say a compromise would be to spend a certain amount of leves to add more allowances for the beast tribe quests (3-5 per additional quest). Of course this should only apply toward ARR and HW Beast Tribes atm.

Well they could increase the total daily limit for all tribes while still keeping the per-tribe limit the same, to prevent a person spamming a single tribe to max rank in a day but allowing people to work on a large number of tribes simultaneously if you're behind on all of them. Tribes individually weren't designed to be uncapped and only offer a small amount of unique quests so if you could spam one you'd be doing the same exact quests over and over a lot of times in one day. But yeah, increase the combined limit for all tribes as more tribes are added to help out people who are behind - that would probably be fine.

"people who are behind on beast tribes" - there is absolutely no requirements to even have beast tribes unlocked or content that requires any kind of beast tribe rep. as long as the game exists you have the time. you just want it all right away. this is an mmo - it's a grind..... what do you not get about this.

The total tribe daily limit is annoying for sure, but the per tribe limit makes sense.
Also doctor, a grind is a grind whether its forcibly spaced out or not, so saying "it's a grind" really does nothing.

I'm wondering how many of these replies understand what the OP is asking for. They're asking for the total daily limit, currently set to 12, to be increased/removed.

For example, a newer player wanting to max out all the ARR, HW, and SB beast tribes, would be limited to the Ananta, the Kojin, and two HW tribes on a single day. Further reduced to just two of those, on a rank up day (since the bonus rank up dailies count towards the daily limit).

I'd also like to point out that an increase to the daily limit has happened before, going from 6 to 12.

Meh. I'm a newish player and I just do my Tribal Dailies while waiting for DF Queues to pop. I've maxed out all but the Moogles and Ananta in a, relatively speaking, short period of time. I don't see any reason why a change is needed. The Tribes serve their purpose, they keep people from being bored while waiting for queues to pop and provide interesting, though un-necessary rewards.

The only change I think they could do, is making it so you can do 3 per tribe a day. With a current 10 tribes, that would be the only change that they really could do. And only let you get more(making it so you can do 6 a day from one) when you rank up with them. So maximum of 60 tribe quests a day, but at a maximum of 6 from any given tribe. While that isn't what the OP is asking for, that is likely the only type of change(with a 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance of happening) I could see them doing.

i don't see the problem here. you just do what you can one day and wait for the next day. if you had no limit on beast tribe allowances people would just spam them non-stop. at 60+ the Kojin and Ananta give considerable amounts of exp.

I'm fine with the 3 quests limit per tribe, but I think they should remove the 12 daily limit, or at least increase it.

You don't see the problem, because you completely misunderstood my post. They wouldn't be "non-stop spamming" Kojin or Ananta dailies, because each of those would still only have 3 available per day.

There's two daily limits in the current beast tribe daily system. A limit of the amount of dailies for a single beast tribe (for example, 3 Ananta dailies), and a total limit encompassing all beast tribes, as shown by the marked area on this screenshot:

Once that limit reaches zero, the player is no longer able to pick up any other daily beast tribe quests, no matter which one they go to.

OP is simply asking for that limit to be increased, or removed.

With an increase in Beast Tribes, they're almost going to have to increase the allowance cap, as they have before. Though really, it would be nice to set all Beast Tribes at 3 quests per day and forget an allowance at all; having both is needlessly restrictive, but only there because of the ability to continually spam the ARR quests, which has changed to the "3 quests a day" for newer Tribes.

If someone wants to run around and do the Sylphs, Amal'jaa, Kobolds, and Sahagin all at once in between current content....why not let them? It's old content and will take time regardless. Most grinds are made easier over time, anyway.

For me, the allowance restriction makes me less likely to go back to that content, because I want the allowances for the newer stuff, and need all the allowances to make any sort of meaningful headway in the older rep grinds.

I just went back and did Amal'jaa dailies and there are a total of 6 at the low level I have; they offer 10 and 14 rep each. All 6 together are equivalent to 1 Kojin or Ananta daily. While it felt like I gained rep at a rather fast pace with the Kojin and Ananta--the current reps that should feel like they take time--getting rep with the ARR Beast Tribes is a drag.

So, yeah; lift the allowance cap, maybe make the rep awarded per quest a bit more in line with current Tribe gains (at least, if I do 6 quests, they should award 30 rep each, since SB Tribe quests award 60), and let folks level their Beast Tribes. There's no reason for old content to be that much grindier than the current, which feels super speedy by comparison.

Those original tribes only had 4 levels of rep that you had to work through though(finishing an over-arching quest once you had them all bumped them to rank 8), so the overall experience is probly similar. Looking back, it seemed to me like each tribe took a similar amount of time as they do now(though i havent done the math on this and could be off). The Ixal were the first with the 7 step rep system, and as a crafting rather then combat tribe it made a little sense that they would act differently.

I am of the opposite opinion. The 12 daily limit is fine, but the 3 quest limit per tribe need to be increased.

With the ARR tribes you had 5 tribes to choose between, and once you were past the first reputation step you could pick up more than 3 quests from each of them - so you weren't limited to just 3 quests per tribe and day. The 12 daily limit was what mattered.

Assume you finished all the ARR tribes while doing ARR and then move on to HW.
A total of 3 beast tribes in HW, and you can only get 3 quests per day from each of them. You can only do 9 quests per day for them, making the limit of 12 per day a theoretical limit you normally don't reach.

Come SB things are even worse. Only 2 tribes to do quests for, and max of 3 quests per day from each. The daily limit of 12 per day is meaningless since you can only get 6 quests per day anyway.

For example; the Amalj'aa quests give 10/14/20 rep, from the rank 1/2/3 dailies respectively. Since each rank has 3 dailies, a full set of 9 will net you 132 reputation.

3 Ananta quests, at 60 reputation each, will net you 180.

Ranking up grants 3 bonus dailies, but that bonus only lasts until the following daily reset. These bonus dailies also count towards the daily total.

That's because beast tribes get added over the course of an expansion. We'll likely get the third one in 4.3.

But you need a lot less reputation for the ARR tribes. The Amalj'aa will be maxed out at 510 rep. The Ananta will need 1730.

I know, but most days you won't get that bonus.

I don't mind the per-tribe limit of 3 a day (6 on rank up days).

The daily total limit though, I'd like to see that go.

I'll gladly do just 3 a day per beast tribe, but don't make me have to choose 4 beast tribes :(

Even though I'm capped on most of them, I still do them for exp on my lower jobs (for HW/SB/ ARR Ixal) and it just sucks to have to pick and choose a max of 12 on top of only being able to do 3 a day for each.

No daily total limit please :(

The ARR tribes besides Ixali also only went up to Rank 4 with dalies so it still takes around the same amount of time to do them as it does to get the HW/SB ones capped per tribe. It takes longer to do ARR ones overall because there are more tribes rather then how much rep you get with each.

Ixali meanwhile still have more quests you can get then the daily limit allows with its later quests giving comparable/the same rep points as HW/SB, and only goes up to rank 7 with rep.

I was merely pointing out that the ability to pick up more dailies for a single tribe didn't make it that much faster than HW/SB beast tribes, due to the fact that the ARR dailies rewarded less reputation.

Going by the state that the beast tribes were in during their initial release, with the ARR ones being released two at a time and having a daily limit of 6, and the HW/SB ones having a daily limit of 12:

Ranking up two ARR beast tribes simultaneously took 23 days (doing the 3 highest rank dailies for each tribe). With the current limit of 12, this will only take 16 days.
Ranking up a HW beast tribe to rank 7 took 23 days (rank 8 was just a filler rank at the initial release).
Ranking up a SB beast tribe to rank 8 takes 27 days.

The reason why the SB ones take 4 days longer, is because rank 8 is more than a filler rank for SB tribes, and rank 7 doesn't give any bonus dailies (would move it down to 26 days if it did).

But the point remains that the total daily limit should be increased by at least 6, similar to how the limit was increased from 6 to 12 with 3.0.

The daily total limit should go away in my opinion. You should be able to run 3 per day for all the tribes. It'll still take people a while to max out the tribes.

First low level quest don't sync with your level. Doing ARR quest even when you're in HW is a waste of time when it comes to exp. Even fate is more rewarding at this point
Second, even without quest it takes barely 2 to 3 weeks to level something from 60 to 70 just with roulettes. I hihgly doubt giving more access to ARR quest will change much. And i'm not even talking about Deep Dungeon which grants the most exp per time to level up to 60.
Third, even if no one needs low level content the game still shove it in your face when you do roulette. Just make a premade leveling dungeon with a bunch of lv70 and see if you don't fall into a ARR dungeon. There's also the evercoming wave of new players.


Finally, I find extremely amusing that you think everyone will actually do those quest if the cap were to be removed. I mean, I don't even know a single none ARR player who is actually capped with these faction. I almost have all job 70 and I didn't even unlock half of them. (I'm actually hoping they'll nerf them because I've heard they're boring as hell)

So I support the poster, there's no reason to gate these quests. They're old content. You're not complaining that Rabanastre can be farmed to upgrade 330 to 340 20 times a day or that you can do 1 to 60 in Deep Dungeon in one day (I did it in 17h) right? So why would you complain that player can max useless ARR faction?

As a side note, it takes 3 week to cap 2 faction, removing the cap would just make you save 3 week of ARR dailies. I hardly see how you can consider that being capped with all ARR faction in 3weeks instead of 6 is gamebreaking.

You dont know me, but ive done that. I started playing a couple months after HW came out. When i saw that the beast tribe merchants sold some things that you couldnt get anywhere else(and a few others more conveniently then you could otherwise get), i took the time to max out all 5 tribes(which was honestly like 30 mins a day to knock out 12 quests). I was done with them all before the first HW tribe went live, so ive been doing the new ones as they come out since.

The need to increase the limit of quests as well as look at redoing the amount of xp they give.(ARR tribes are pitifully low even at 50, Vath, Gundu, Moogle all lvl sync but they don't fall in line with the amount synced from the stormblood ones) It would be nice if they'd change it and allow for 3 quests per beast tribe. They've already said they are coming out with another beast tribe in the last producer letter so once again that will leave people picking and choosing instead of being able to do some in all of them if they wished. Another solution would be when the next beast tribe is introduced they have said it will be a crafting one so why not separate the types of beast tribes into 2 sets of allowances? 1 set for the 3 crafting tribes-9 allowances total, and then another set for the combat tribes with 3 for each of them with that coming up to 21 total for combat classes.

So, I haven't been watching this thread, but it seems my post was misunderstood. I just want the daily cap of 12 removed, so I could go through all my BTs in one day if I wanted. This wouldn't hinder low/mid leveled characters at all, in fact it would give them something to do during the awful chain that is between 2.0-3.0 (especially if they haven't figured out duty finder yet) or queues for DRs. If they want to change the old reps to 3 quests (with more rep) overall instead of the 12 they currently offer at higher ranks daily, fine by me. I just do not want to have to choose on which one of the four to do daily.

I see no harm in removing the daily 12 limit. Doing 45 beast tribe quests a day for ARR would be a chore and if they want it that badly why not let them. The HW/SB beast tribe dailies are a joke in comparison. I am able to crank out my SB dailies in 5 minutes per tribe. This was not the case back in ARR. Just waiting for the fate you needed sometimes would be 10-30 minutes.
