About Patch 4.2 and Tank changes for War and Drk

Is SE able to answer if they are going to pass those changes or not? Part of me hopes that somone will press big red button for War and cancel those changes for War. Also with included Drk buff list that will make sense. Whatever yes or no I need to know if i need to put away my 2 heanded axe and sword to grab shield for tank or lance for dps. Thats why a message like thanks for the input we will consider your feedback but proceed with changes anways would be nice at least.

Go ahead and make your PLD default tank and DRG for dps. It will save you alot of time asking these questions.

They'll go through for sure. With how important these changes are too, we can only hope for a total revert at 4.3. And something inside of me knows it won't happen.

There's nothing to respond to though. You are asking for a "thanks for input" when you haven't even see the changes in action yet. You are offering an opinion that is only based on guesswork when you have absolutely no idea how this will effect the upcoming Raid and Trial encounters.

For all we know these changes were made because SE felt Tanks were to focused on DPS and wanted to reel it back a bit so that they could focus on the actually Boss encounter and mechanics. If after the results you feel there is an issue, aka after you try Byakko and the Omega raid, then give your input and explain why it doesn't work. However trying to guess how it won't work now without actually trying it is of no help to the Dev team because you are only using your own bias to determine that it won't work.

Tanks will remain focused on DPS if SE continues to simplify the rest of what they do and keeps nerfing their damage. They seem to miss the basic connection that Tank players like to feel a certain amount of power behind their job as well, while not as good as DPS, tank players in MMO's don't actually enjoy feeling like being JUST a meat-shield, especially if being JUST a meat-shield involves almost no thought at all due to them simplifying everything

Ok how much info did you get from players regarding drk ? Like tons of it and we don't need to try out to see those 2 funny buffs to know that those buffs won't work for 4.2. its simply not enough.

Tank dps has always matter, what game have you been playing lol with the dps checks being way to high for dps to reach solely alone so unless SE has completely changed their raid formula (which they won't) we already Know how these changes will effect up coming raids....

And you show me a tank that doesn't want to push some dps and actually contribute more than just taking a tank buster

War changes look good imo, war will be more like 3.x warrior and i think it will be good.

Agree, it's more elegant and makes defiance warrior look like it actually upgraded in stormblood. Not having inner release in defiance was bad, it felt like warrior at level 70 was the same as 60.

True WAR was phenomenal in 3.0 and DARK was awesome the only tank needing some help was PLD

I'm sorry, but what?! Last I heard, the currently existing dungeons, trials and raids won't be deleted from the game, so can you tell me how the changes working in currently non-existing content actually matter?!

Not to mention, they "will work" in upcoming trial and raid content. And without knowing "before" and "after", there is no way to say anything about whether they would work "better" or "worse" without these changes. So your argument is just illogical from any point you look at it.

This is how the changes with 4.0 happened. People were crying "white mage is dead", "scholar is OP" etc. But fact was that scholars were overpowered earlier and this change supposedly brought the healers together into a roughly even ground. And still, everything I assumed before the update happened...happened. White mages did not die, not even close...Of course, seeing as they got almost only buffs, so I never understood why they were supposed to be killed by the update. Scholars got more issues coping with repeated emergencies, but they are still very much capable of healing efficiently enough to avoid them occurring with half-decent party. And they lacked AoE, which they remedied with Miasma III.

In reality, it's all a math. Changes CAN be analyzed and problems can be found with them without them being ever implemented. That's exactly how design works. Sure, you can't expect the masses to do too well in that, but that doesn't mean that no one will hit the mark. All in all...your argument can be used only for people saying that "the changes won't be fun". Cause people don't know whether it'll be fun till they try. All else...they can.

I see all those WAR was phenomenal during 3.X. It was good yes, but 4.1 WAR leaves it in the dust. We had an actual rotation and resource management. Now it'll be braindead ez mode press IR every 90 secs.

By the time they post the preliminary patchnotes the code will already be finished and going through final testing.
They are not going to change anything between then and the actual release of the patch unless it is something truely gamebreaking.

Also, SE doesn't respond on weekends. The earliest you would see a response is Monday, when the servers are already down for patching.

Don't worry. The patch isn't even live yet. If the war changes are a disaster they'll patch in a fix in March.

Ok, maybe April or May.

I got a bad feeling that the DPS gap between WAR and DRK will be bigger than anticipated (with WAR being the one ahead of course.) And this is despite the removal of Berserk.

If I read the patch notes right, Unchained and Inner Release no longer share a cooldown. So that means we'll probably have the Unchained opener from WARs be the norm in high-end content like HW.
