allow us to ride our Chocobo's in the city

it would be nice if they allowed us to ride our Chocobo's in the city. They aren't so large as they would create massive blocking issues like some mounts and would be nice for those times you are running half way across the city.

Auto default to the chocobo mount when trying to mount in the city.

We were allowed once, back in the old days.
However a nice jesture, we have free teleports all around the cities :o
(And I don't wanna pay in-game road tax)

The cities are too small to need more than sprint :(

Might be a engine issue. As in, if you can mount chocobos, you can mount other rides too because the engine doesnt distinguish 'mounting' as a different action between mounts. So it might end up with a situation where you could mount other mounts in a city and then proceed to obstruct NPCs or MBs among other things.

Could you imagine all the giant oversized mounts blocking the seasonal event NPCs making it nearly impossible to click or even see them during events? No thanks.

If it's similar to how the zones were coded in XI, there's probably flag that denotes areas as indoors and outdoors and carries the necessary processes to allow mounts. Look at Rhalgr's Reach or Idyllshire for the examples. They probably would have to plan in advance to allow mounts in general let alone specific mounts in a zone so I can't see them making chocobos usable in cities. Not that they're big enough to need birds and yeah the cooldown for sprint in cities should just go away at some point

On the one hand, moving around the city can be frustratingly slow sometimes, even with Sprint. On the other hand, the cities would look absolutely horrid people riding around on their giant Behemoth and Alte Roite mounts.

Maybe they could give everyone an increased walk speed in cities. If they made it too fast it would look weird, but having everyone move at the speed of Fists of Wind/Peloton would be nice.

Did you read the OP? All mounts would auto-default to the Company Chocobo.

As for the original post, it would be a good idea if the cities needed it, but as is, they do not.

Size doesn't really matter considering target filters can let you click through players.
The real issue us it's hella rude. The cities are designed for foot travel. Nobody wants to be trampled over by some visiting adventurer on his chocobo.

Also, it was allowed in the past, during 2.x, after the final save. Lawlessness was rampant, people waking up with relic weapons, monsters in the cities. It was chaos. Everyone thought they'd die. When law and order cane back to the city-states, chocobo were once again barred.

You can't really count this time of the game since the rules weren't exactly followed. Eve. GM's broke some back then! I remember them crashing servers spawning too much lol

Hmm, I don't know. I for one enjoy being able to walk down the street without worry of stepping in a big sloppy nasty pile of chocobo dung.

My only issue is I remember WoW having the issue of "look at my mamoth/yak and be salty that you will never use this mail box!" Even worst if they used an elixir of giant growth and used something that turned them into a Tauren..... unless they were already one.

Honestly, I think they don’t allow this because it can be pretty bad during event seasons to get to the NPCs and using mounts would only exacerbate the situation. Not only that, but rezzing everyone’s minion, mount, and character glamour may overwhelm the city areas. Most people’s framerate drops in large cities, though its most noticeable if you’re on a lower end PC.

Do you want Chocopoo covered towns? Because this is how you will get Chocopoo covered towns.

I would love this for getting vistas without having to play Mario. I'm here for a rpg, not a platformer.

I miss my old buff with my hermes shoes. I was really upset when they changed it in 2.0. I don't even use them now. What a waste of what once was a great 1.0 CE item...
