GET OFF MY LAWN!!

SE, please tie striking dummy use to house owners and tenant only. I’m sick of logging on and seeing people using striking dummies on my plot like some sort of dojo. Git gud somewhere else.

I purposely did not put one in my yard for this reason, even though I would love to use it.

A homeless FC nearby is always in our ward (they all seem to have apts in that ward, rl friends I assume) and they are constantly using other ppls striking dummies. Even asked me if I could install one so they could use it.

Now and then is one thing but they use the one across the street and they are always pounding away on that thing, I do not need them in my yard constantly doing the same. I even removed all benches or anything they could sit or climb to keep them out of my yard as they were always hanging out on my front step or on my balcony.

Another reason I vote INSTANCED HOUSING! Make it happen.

You could always plop it into storage when not using it. Some people set them out specifically for public use.

Interesting that this was brought up. I had a friend of mine use a random person's dummy, and the owner was there. He immediately put the dummy away and told my friend he could have asked first before using it, and then promptly locked his house from the public as well. He thought it was silly for the guy to get so butt-hurt, but you can't always predict how and why people react the way they do. /shrug

Then put it in storage when your not using it.

No this is actually a good suggestion. I can see why he'd be bothered by people stomping on his lawn without permission.
I'm very annoyed myself at the guy living 2 houses down the street, doing laps over my garden on his Fenrir literally whenever I log in.

I could see why some people would be bothered, especially if an entire FC is coming in wailing on the things, and intrusively asking others to install one for their ise. Personally don’t mind when people wail on mine or visit... but having an entire FC doing it would rub me the wrong way.

at least you guys have a house and dont have to sleep at the street. :rolleyes:

Noone has to sleep at the street, there are apartments and FC rooms, so there should be a place for everyone. :rolleyes:

That’s if your FC has the money/opportunity to have one. A lot of FCs are homeless, and we won’t know how quickly they are going to be bought up during the rush. The worst case scenario is even with invididual sale on new housing eliminated, so many FCs are homeless at this moment it could very well be possible the plots will be bought up on the larger servers.

fc rooms and apartments are not really count in my opinion. no gardening = no real housing. and btw. this toiletrooms are way to small.

I met a pretty chill guy who was using the striking dummy on my lawn just the other day. I didn't mind one bit. But I also wasn't RPing so, hmm.

Why would someone use a striking dummy in the housing districts when thy don't own a house anyways? O_o
Aren't there striking dummys almost everywhere in the open world? Like for example multiple lvl 70 ones at the Peaks?
Why not just use those instead of bothering other people by using them on their lawns?

I didn't realize that people actually get angry over people in their yard. It makes me laugh.

I don't have a personal house but I'm in charge of my FC's house and after seeing a group of people trying to eRP in our hot tub, every time I see a stranger even walk near our house, I lock it. Can't trust anyone anymore... >x>

i'm not so much as peeved when people use my striking dummy (i mean that's what it's there for) and i use it too, but i absolutely hate when people sit on the outer perimeter of my medium where there's a little ledge or fence hop into the yard and back over... most of them from the fc down the road. idk i personally just find it rude considering they never talk to me or say hi, etc. i used to have someone who lived above me in mist and to get to summoning bell they'd always run thru my yard :/

There's a simple solution here. If you don't want people playing on your lawn don't put any toys on it. Or at least don't place them until your ready to play with them then pick it up and store it until your ready to play again.

I wouldn't mind seeing someone in my yard or looking at the inside of my house. That would mean someone was actually there to begin with. I'm at my house fairly often and only very rarely do I see anyone at all.

There is a more simple solution. If it's not your house, don't use its dummies.

I am not saying it's ok so don't get your Quan in a bunch. I just find it funny that people are rude here in game just like real life. I find it as annoying as people standing directly on top of the summoning bell in towns.

my dream is to just one day catch someone in my house.

as far as this topic goes, just give us a friggin toggle already. some people like having people come over to their yards and hang out, others don't.

What's wrong with this? I wish i had neighbors who come to visit and stuff like that. But my ward feels like a ghost town. :(

If you leave a dollar bill on a park bench someone you likely don't know will pocket it. If you put up a training dummy in your make believe yard someone you don't know WILL use it end of story. Don't put it out publicly if you don't want others using it that's just life and that's not negotiable. There is a reason you don't see trampolines and pools in peoples unsecured front yards.

That's not really a fair way of looking at it. If you leave your door unlocked and somebody walks in and takes your TV, they're still committing a crime and will get in trouble if caught. For a lot of house owners it's just more convenient for them to put a dummy out themselves to practice on but I can definitely see how annoying it can be to have someone constantly there 24/7, especially if you play with the sound on. So the people using other's dummies should consider being respectful of other's boundaries. If you're asked to stop using that dummy, just stop lol.

You don't need to sleep in the street, there's plenty of room for you just outside the Steps of Nald.

There is nothing fair about it that's human nature, if you leave it out in the open and the public can use it just assume someone at some point will use it without your permission. Try to fight it all you like you'll loose every time, there's always at least that one person that pushes the boundary's. If you don't want others using it secure whatever it is. Sitting on your front lawn is not secure...

To everyone complaining about not having house guests, why don't you just advertise your house/apartment on the PF as a hang out spot?
I literally have someone in my FC who met their husband because they made a PF saying they wanted people to talk to.
There was even a big reddit post about it... :B

I can't believe people are seriously complaining about people using a striking dummy in a video game.
I can't wait for the world to end.

Tbh I'm mildly surprised we've yet to get a "Why can't they just get their own striking dummy in their private or fc house?"

It's not about having people, it's about how those people behave.
I have no issue seeing others in our FC house, if they're civilised and respectful.
Barging into ones house and starting to ERP in the pool isn't respectful.

I hear ya. I spend a lot of time crafting, decoing my house and never see any people running around nor at the MB, etc. It's just a nicely deco'd ghost town.

This is actually a good suggestion.

We had someone that would use our FC one constantly and only when we were on and would obnoxiously hit it for ages. just to hit it...... We had to store it, it was getting so ridiculous. Like we don't mind you using it....but.....doing it for an hour may be a bit much.....please stahp.

Honestly wasn't even aware this was a thing people did, most wards I'm ever at feel so empty I'd actually like to see some more people running around.
I guess it could get annoying pretty quick to have someone's shrill battle cries sounding repeatedly for an absurdly long period of time, though...
