Please look at wondrous tail rewards.

There's no real reason why you have to make getting two or three lines in it such a low percentage. The only worthwhile rewards are the gathering/crafting VI materia tokens and five slot gathering/crafting body. Tier VI combat materia is worthless, the level 60 ornate crafting is pretty worthless for the low chance of getting it, and the 320 combat gear is for one job at a time, and is obsolete for anyone except people who were into progression.

The best reward in tier 0 is a dragonskin map I can gather in 5 seconds.

It's starting to feel less like "here's some stuff for helping others by doing things!" and more like "why are you wasting time?"

I think it's just fine. The three-line rewards are absolutely insane; BiS crafter / gatherer gear, and competitive, close-to-BiS gear for DoW / DoM. They shouldn't be easy to get. The two-line rewards are perhaps a bit weak, though. I'd like to see Creation tomestones in there (or, alternately, something more useful to purchase with Verity). Honestly, two Cracked Clusters from the one-liner are better than 500 Tomestones of Verity for me. The Tier 0 rewards are fine; the map is different each time, and is often worth around 30K gil.

Also, keep in mind - Wondrous Tails isn't "here's some stuff for helping others by doing things." It's "here's some extra stuff on top of the boatload of rewards we already give you for helping others by doing things." It's a potentially lucrative bonus, not the main reward.

They aren't insane. They aren't BiS for crafter, they just save a crafter gil on one piece, with something like a 1% drop chance. The other piece is for level 60 5 slot, which you don't even need any more at that level. The combat piece is obsolete now and was only a money saver during progression; once 3.2 hits its outclassed. But all of these rewards really don't help people because there are far easier and attainable ones for people who desperately need them.

The thing though is they are incentives for people at 70 to bother with old content. Currently now you might as well ignore them, as they add nothing that the average person couldn't buy for 100k gil or get in an hour or play.

What are you talking about? They are BiS for crafter and gatherer. Are you kidding? I dunno why the put the old 60 crafter/gatherer gear in there but the 70 is absolutely the best crafter/gatherer gear you can get in the game atm. The issue with it is simply that there isn't all that much to craft atm to induce a lot of people to get them over the other 320 gear, since they cost more, but that'll change with 4.2.

It would be awesome if they take the 60 crafter gear out and put in a part that'll lead to a cool mount or something. Like 1/10th of a cool mount. Something for people to try for.

They are only best because of the materia slots. If you had the gil, you could pentameld them. I can reach the caps to craft NQ 2 star by not even doing that. And honestly, you're looking at about the same chance of getting a diadem weapon to drop than getting both three lines and the piece you want.

but can you craft HQ with no issues and craft new items? thats what people want, and i for sure dont want some crummy NQ set for my gather

The rewards seem pretty much in line with how easy they are to attain.
Not sure adding better rewards for doing basic content is the best idea.

All that is irrelevant. It's still BiS. I crafted the 320 set while wearing most the starter set. The fact that I could do that doesn't mean the 320 set isn't BiS. You can heal a dungeon in the top gear and in the starter 70 gear. It doesn't mean they're the same damn gear. I crafted both my sets before the 5 slot gear were up on the MB else I would've opted for them. It makes pentamelding so much simpler. For a hardcore endgame crafter who pentamelds with Vs, they're so much better than the crafted version.

Pretty much this, while the nq version is good for SB-ing, I highly doubt you can craft the current ala-mhigo set, much less next tier's combat armours with unmelded NQ.
And penta-melding cost a bomb; you can burn through a lot of materias on the 3rd and 4th slot and still get no where x 10. I will definitely not mind a gatherer piece or crafter piece with confirmed slots to save gil.

sigh...it doesn't matter because the chance to get one single piece of that armor is 1 in about 450. My server has seen seven pieces of one piece sold in 5 months. This is something even if you care about it being bis you are not going to earn. You are going to buy it if you can afford it. 1 in 450, for something you have once chance a week for.

You probably had more chance to get an OP piece of armor out of the diadem, than one of these pieces. And even the 2 row is probably about 1 in 50. Everyone is talking about BiS, but it's about as obtainable as a diadem weapon, if diadem weapons could be sold.

I agree but at the same time would you want all of the rewards to be changed and be easier to get? Prices would go down on the higher tier rewards and such. Maybe they will change it later but I think at this point it's still okay.

Well, if they want to make the upper tiers unreachable, ok, but then we really need more than poetics, maps, and 10,000 gil on the lower tiers.

I'd like it if they'd change the tasks to be less specific like "any 24-man" or "any normal mode raid" so I could do Rabanastre and any floor of Omega normal and get credit for at least one thing I'm already going to be doing instead of like Void Ark or whatever that I'm not gonna do.

I always take MGP envelopes, the easiest 30/50/100k ever. In fact I got over 2 million MGP that way already.

The guaranteed pieces are not as good as u think seeing as after the first 3 you cant put anymore tier 6s in anyway. If I remember correctly it's 4 and below for the last 2 slots. It also hasn't cost me 20mill to pentameld a set and the 3rd slot is norm a craft materia with the first 2 being control. Which again is actually overkill for craftsmanship.

it's a game of chance. 3 lines is supposed to be hard to get. don't like what you get? don't do it.

WT is gambling in a fun way, just like other gambling game, the lower the probability the better the prize..

It's not supposed to be a mini game where you will get super rich or good by winning it..

WT can be easily finished in less than one day, so why does the price need to be super good? Not finishing it won't hurt player, but finishing it will reward you with small prize..

Although, I would love to see that they put some of the mogstation item to be in the prize as well at least the 3 lines one.. 9 stickers, 1 line and 2 lines are good enough IMO

I've stopped doing any WT since Stormblood. Only thing worth from WT was when you start middle of expansion and need to cap tomes quick for catching up other stuff rest of the week. Gears should never be a reward from gambling. It's worthless reward for 1 piece which is why I don't mind there, might have some worth for full set reward. Unless they provide other ways to complete 3 lines than gambling, WT is a dead game.

That’s exactly why the content in WT is specific though—to try and get people to revisit older content and push along those queues. Of course, this doesn’t work since too well since people can just unsync ARR Extremes, Coil, and any older dungeon.

There's a pet Hien in there. Best reward ever.

(Also the Creation in there counts towards the weekly cap, so that's pretty lame.)

Wish they'd make a different set of WT that focuses on old Savage and Extreme content, and you'd have to do it synced. If they played it right and made the rewards worthwhile, people would be playing the game again.

The 6s aren't in the equation. I don't value the 5 slots for them. It's the 5s that cost me. When you have 100k for one materia and you waste 30 or 40 to overmeld 1 materia? With the possibility to waste more? ATM, they range between 6m to 18m (ahahaha on that last one -- it's more around 6m but you know how MB can be) so it is a cost saver for me. Perhaps not for you but for me, yes.

You can put 5 materia VI in those, while with crafted gear you are limited on only 1 VI overmeld

Remember only in overmelding you are locked out grade VI, since those are garanteed slots they are all fine for grade VI melding

That's not how tradecrafting works. With the current system, it's 80% chance to retrieve grade V. That gear is worthless simply because one of the 5 slots is a literal "you -will- lose 400 red scrips and more for your next gear". Overmelding is an already invested cost, I spent as much time/gil I could because I know the stats I'm putting (= earned). Predicting future stats is not part of playing the tradecraft, the only benefit is if it only contains max 4 guaranteed slots.

Your right cost isn't an issue for me. For one I wouldn't buy my T5's when I can get them free from scrips.

Honestly, for how easy the WT system is, I think the rewards are plenty good enough. its a nice added boost of income and tomes etc, throughout the week, and as I said, for the effort required, a person usually makes out pretty good. This week Cracked Crystals were a 1 line reward, are you kidding me? 1 line and I can make 1 million gil? Wt is just fine, and much worth doing.

For 400 a pop? If you have the time to craft some 12k+ (30 T5s = 12k red scrips) worth of scrips for one overmeld then more power to you. I certainly don't. Of course, they aren't free, are they? Not in time or materials...

WT is fine with me. Some weeks it sucks, other weeks the rewards are great. This week I got the mgp reward and that pushed me over 750k so I could get the final mount I didn't have (the plant thing). Cracked clusters are also always accepted. My only complaint is that I think creation should always be a 9 sticker reward instead of poetics or verity. Not a lot, maybe 50 for just doing the book once a week.

I thought of this, but for characters under level 70 they would want tomes too, which then defaults you back to poetics.

However they could do for 2 rows and nix another reward, put the creation in row 3 and the poetics row 2? Just a thought. I'm with you they could adjust a few things, but overall its fine with me.

The 3-line reward is indeed insane and I think it's nice that it's hard to get, although I would suggest replacing the level 60 option with level 70 equivalents. Nobody in their right mind is going to waste a 3-line on a level 60 piece by now. Something like a 5 million gil option or 1 million MGP option would also be cool.

The map option for simple completion probably needs to be changed, too. It's selling for 5k now on my server. More QoL/convenience options should be available, spreading them over completion/1-line/2-line depending on its value. Such as:

• teleportation tickets, say 10 for completion, 20 for 1-line, 50 for 2-line
• chocobo buddy training ticket that gives EXP to the chocobo buddy, say 10k/30k/100k
• tax exemption ticket that can be used to designate one retainer to enjoy tax-free selling for 1 week/2 weeks/1 month
• 1/2/3 melder's blessing item that will guarantee success for the next meld done within the next 5 minutes
• 1/5/10 emergency repair kits that can be used to add 100% durability to one piece of gear even if the user has no crafter leveled at all

This creates more variation to the reward options instead of keep seeing the same minions/furniture and feel it's all outdated stuff.

Honestly after a few weeks and sometimes when I feel like it I stopped doing WT. For me running the old content again and again for the really small chance of even getting two or three lines is just not enough of an incentive to keep doing that. The minions might be nice but since they can be sold I just buy them from the MB after a bit of a time since there would be a lot of them there.

So if we got bigger chances and nice rewards (does not have to be BiS gear or something like that) then maybe I would do it more often. But right now it does not interest me.
