Thanks for killing Company Workshops, SE

Nice job destroying the house glam market! I mean, a single retainer can now bring back a full housing exterior (a) how is this physically possible, (b) nice job eliminating the primary use for company workshops - ships bring back components for housing glams and the cost to actually make these can be high, which should also raise the value of said housing glams, not reduce costs so a L is 300k VS 15mil. :mad:

Also...how is it physically possible I can net a fish my size literaly....and yet carry it around me and shove it into a tank?

How many times has this happened? Keep in mind that it has to be a fairly common occurrence for it to threaten the already existing market.

The same way it's possible for my retainers to bring back entire trees, single-handedly, or a mansion-sized roof, or to solo raids or primals and bring me back rare drops.

They just love me so much they find the strength, obviously.

Umm you do know that you can make the new area housing facades and those don't get brought back by retainers right? As to regular housing facades being brought back, I have six retainers that I send out each hour that I'm online (which is a LOT) and they have brought back exactly two of these items. So untwist your panties, it's really not the apocalypse you are making this out to be.

Between my 3 retainers I've gotten 4 housing skins in the last month lol

They're worthless on Balmung, but with the frequency Im getting them I honestly can't tell if Im "lucky" or or they're not uncommon loot now.

I have no words at this point, this pretty much sums today up....

Full house skins like the mog or paissa house, or just random parts like walls or fences?

Full paissa, moogle and all the others below shirogane not yet. Its actually so bad on behemoth that larges have dropped to 300k a pop for their walls with some even low as 10k

Actually this was a strange turn of events, adding house glamour to ventures has completely devalued all walls.

Prior to them being added, I was able to sell most styles at fair prices and sell two or so per day, now i can't sell 1 per week even undercutting to very low prices. And I have noticed on some worlds (EU) shirogane walls selling for 900k or less each, you can't even build them for so little as the material cost...

Probably the same way it's possible for my character to pick up and carry three corpses at the same time.

If my retainer is more productive than I am, they deserve a raise. Please complain back when they bring you more mushrooms.

my sick glam glams are becoming cheaper and easier to manage/maintain! Oh no! (Thanks SE.) Just don't do cross server MBs and we'll be fine.

My Retainers bring Armor and Weapons only now. Not long ago they brought all kind of things, including Housing Items. Was there a change in the system? I do have 2 DOM Retainers.

Supposedly, it’s dependent on their item level. Higher item level = better rewards. But really, it’s random. I have an i330 DoW retainer that still brings me Sea Cucumbers at least twice a day...

(1) This isn't new.
(2) There's absolutely nothing about this game that is realistic from a carrying capacity perspective.
(3) Given that SE still hasn't managed to provide housing to every FC that wants a house, this is a good decision. Items and content shouldn't be gated behind poorly-implemented systems that bar newer groups from equal access - period.

(4) ...what on earth does your FC need money for, anyway? I never worry about market stability because there's precious little to spend Gil on these days. Just saying.

A bishop pulled an interior out of a POTD bag. Retainers bringing back exteriors doesn’t surprise me.

Ahaha yes, I love it when my retainer turns up after his all-day venture declaring "I think I'm getting the hang of this" and hands over a single small fish or a piece of fruit. (Or a laundry pole one time, which is a fine mental image....) He just seems so earnest about it.

laaaate reply (sorry) but I have gotten 2 mog houses, 1 mog mansion, and 1 merchant house. Each of them would cover the whole plot.

It is pretty ridiculous but it's the same for many other things like allagan glamours and what not.

They kill the old content and make people do new things, essentially killing older content (Looks at PVP seal rock & shatter) :(

I think the main problem with it is they are very common. i get the full house skins more often than the rare dyes

Right?! My two retainers still haven't brought back any of the metallic dyes and I've been sending them out since April on a near daily basis.

I think they tweaked it a bit. At the beginning of 4.1, retainers were bringing all kinds of walls, and now it's less common but still -- we have enough retainers spread out among players doing ventures that these once-difficult items have now become common.

This is par for the course with items - especially company workshops. Soon we'll be building submarines and all our concentration will be focused there. Hopefully we'll get new housing glamours too (Azim Steppe-style housing *PLEASE*)

These skins had been rare due to company workshop restrictions for a long time now. I don't see an issue with the older skins becoming more widely available. I was able to reskin my personal house without clogging up my FC workshop.

Shame the carbuncle skin wasnt one of these....

I'm sort of annoyed that retainers are bringing back Company Workshop items. The market on all the housing walls has completely tanked to the point where it's cheaper on the MB than the actual mats/time are to make it. That should never be the case for something from the workshop IMO. :/

Honestly, I don't think any of the Company Workshop items should be coming back from retainer ventures.

Just be happy that you have access to something that the vast majority of players do not. You're basically complaining that you won a $5 million Lotto jackpot, but you wanted the $10 million jackpot.

Just make Carbuncle or shirogane castle walls then :P

Eventually I'm sure they'll bring those back too!

Well, no one was going to mass-produce these anyways...

I'm fine with it currently. Older walls have been made available whilst still leaving some exclusive to workshop.
