Ever since patch 4.15 my static and me have been getting lag spikes that can range from 1 to 10 seconds of nothing happening and then going back to normal. The spikes for me are infrequent and usually very short while my static reports they get lots of spikes of varying duration. They seem to occur during any kind of content, including raids, dungeons, overworld, etc.
Is anyone else getting this? Does anyone know what's going on?

Definitely having these issues. It isn't constant but I'm getting lag spikes that sound very similar to yours. It's playable (can take several minutes till' a small spike that makes an ability activate way late) but any raid progression with it would be incredibly frustrating. My entire raid group who are of the same nationality were reporting various lag spikes throughout the raid, and two of their severity were way worse than mine. I've been playing the game since 2.0 and I haven't had any latency issues this persistent before.
I also had latency issues few weeks back which I could bypass with a VPN and which fixed themselves. These latency issues haven't fixed themselves nor has a VPN helped with them. Thankfully our group is taking a break till' the next raid tier, progressing coil with this kind of connection instability would be infuriating. -

My friends and I have also been having this issue recently, most notably when we're raiding in ultimate and spikes in latency can cause wipes no matter how big or small. It makes progression more frustrating than it should be :(
It's been occurring since the introduction of patch 4.15 which matches this thread, we've got members in England, Holland, Belgium and more that have been experiencing this issue, I hope it can be resolved soon! -

Having lags as well. Started playing a few days ago and I really get high ping sometimes, checking via resource monitor. Damage and abilities are extremely delayed sometime.

I noticed this since 4.15. Maybe every 7-10 minutes there is a lag spike, really short and annoying.

It's the same for me on Shiva. I have lags since the 4.15, in pvp or when I'm crafting. Today it was 10+ seconds of lags on dungeon

It has been already 10 days. Since the Saturday November the 18th the game get random lag spikes wich affectas almsot all people at the same time. it is tedious try to do savage when lag spikes hits in the worst moment.
Please, stop say "it is your ISP problem" every time I try to contact support. IT IS NOT my ISP. IT IS YOUR SEVER AND/OR YOUR ISP, SquareEnix. -

ive been getting these small lags lasts 2 to 5 seconds and started after 4.15 was implemented. i play on moogle and on the ps4 its not really bad but i notice it every time.

I'm having the same problem and so are a few friends of mine, which are not in the same country as me. It started roughly 2 weeks ago. Maybe it has something to do with the network maintenance they did on the 18th of November?

...I do occasionally ping them to see if I also have issues there, which I do see a problem with 1 node on my route to the Chaos data center.
Ignore the 100% loss from the second hop, it's normal. But the 4th node has a staggering 82% packet loss right now. It's provided by Level3, this node has actually always been an issue with me. However it was usually around 15~20% packet loss, not 80%~ lol. Something is very wrong with the router there in London.
I used WinMTR app, it's really helpful in pinpointing where the packet loss/delayed packets are coming from. I am experiencing some random lag spike since the 18th of November exactly. The packet are happening at some telia.net nodes. The lag isn't insane but since I am monitoring the connection I can see that there is some packet loss every now and then it's still playable even though it's irritating

if you havent checked yet, its because the datacentres ISP was doing maint at that time, so SE did take servers down for the same time.
I find it funny that since their ISP (and not ours) did a maintenance some people accross Europe get random lag spikes now -

We would like to assist you all with you individual issues. We encourage everyone to create their own thread. I am going to add the general trouble shooting tips we could give for PC players. Please do all these steps. Please make sure that if one of these steps resolve your issue please let us know, so we can assist further assist other players.
The issue you are describing is most associated with interference with the game data. Most of the time, it results from certain security/privacy changes on Internet Explorer. Other times it occurs when an application that is running in the background is causing interference, such as Anti-virus software, firewalls, media players, web browsers, etc.
Please make sure all background applications (including anti-virus programs such as Norton, Kaspersky, Windows Defender, etc.) have been disabled and/or closed to minimize game interference.
Ensure that the latest version of Internet Explorer is installed on your PC (even if you don't use Internet Explorer), please do not use Edge as that is a different internet platform. Once Internet Explorer is up-to-date, please open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED.
[SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
Please RESTART your PC now.
Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"
If the suggestions provided above do not resolve the issue, then there is a communication error.
Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:

If you have properly configured your router, and you are still experiencing these issues, our next suggestion is to bypass the router, and connect your computer directly to your modem. Please ensure that you power down both the modem and the computer for at least five minutes before attempting to connect to FINAL FANTASY XIV.
If you continue to receive these same errors when you are connected directly to the modem, then the problem lies with your ISP. We would recommend contacting them and advising them that one or more of the ports previously provided to you are being blocked or filtered, and that you do need access on these ports.

I followed your troubleshooting steps in the other post but that didn't fix the lags.

Any official word on this? We went from no lag to huge lag spikes following the ISP maintenance and 4.15.
This is effecting both PC and PS4 players in my static, from various European countries and providers.
Both the timing of when it started, the fact that none of us use the same isp and only two of us live in the same country and none of us had these issues pre 4.15, I think they need to seriously look at what their isp did during that maintenance window.
It's not really a problem in normal content but it's really effecting our savage weekly clears, especially when ogcds aren't coming on and off CD properly in 4S (I.e. HG, LD etc.) -

I do apologize for the inconvenience you have all experienced, however I cannot say with any certainty that servers themselves are the issue here.
Thank you for those that have provided information about your ISP. Based on this information, it looks like the issues are coming from a similar region in Europe. While this may not be the fault of any one ISP, any networks that you are connecting to may see excessive traffic or problems at this time. Unfortunately, I can only speculate on this and you may be routed through a troublesome network for this particular game. This would explain why you are able to connect to other websites, but not Final Fantasy XIV.
Saying it's your ISP's fault isn't entirely accurate in this case, it's more of how your ISP decides to connect to the network. Because of this, it becomes difficult to suggest troubleshooting methods aside from the ones listed above.
Again, I do apologize for the inconvenience and hope you can still enjoy the game. -

Can confirm that this only happens to me when I'm in the unending coil of bahamut or 24 man raids...
My whole raid group also experienced it,
for example tonight a twister stopped casting at about 75% and then popped below us all - as in the cast bar just disappeared at 75% and boom.
As a paying customer I find it appalling that the issue hasn't at least been acknowledged in a forum post. This has been lasting since the 4.15 update, a long time to have such an issue ignored.
I'd like to at least get explanations during the live letter ??
To me it seems like weak server capacity.. -

This date was the exact day the lag spikes started to appear, and honestly, this is going to far, my entire static has been suffering this poor connection since November and I feel a bit frustrated to play with this conditions. -
