Eureka is not the new Deep Dungeon. That will comer later (no one knows when). Eureka is a new content type (neither is like Diadem).
Also, the new deep dungeon will be totally different to Palace of the Dead. So probably will be independient. They should add the option to start at 100, but not for this reason.
Why is Eureka a reason to increase potd entry lvl? You just put 2 different things together for the sake of an argument?
Despite some reasons why we should do Eureka we have essentially nothing yet about the gameplay in it...
The new deep dungeon is likely Heaven on High out in the Ruby Sea.
I vote we rename it from "deep dungeon" to "high dungeon" as we will be rising into the sky(if it is the Heaven on High place).
Agreed and there should be no cap on floors or at least as far as us players can tell. The higher you go the harder it gets, but at some point it gets too hard even for the best players creating the illusion that it just keeps on going and only by reaching say level 80 can you go higher which would be only by next expansion. Would add an interesting challenge of how high can you go? They can then just up the level of the floor you can start on each expansion so you don't have to go through so many of the lower floors.
I thought that Eureka is the new alternate way to level to 70 (like how Deep Dungeon was for level 60s) -- is it not? If I remember reading right from an interview, they said something about leveling your character, so I thought that if this is going to be the new method, people would probably forget all about Deep Dungeon, and letting us start from 101 would still keep it competitive without a lot of drudgery.
Eureka is the new Diadem to some extent that hasn't been fleshed out fully and will be involved with the SB relic quest.
Heaven on High, the jenga tower in the ruby sea, is top contender for the next deep dungeon going off of Yoshi's comments on deep dungeon content pre-SB release and the way it's described by NPCs.

They haven't clarified what level Eureka content will be geared towards. Similar to how you could run FATEs on characters who WEREN'T max level in Heavensward, you might be able to level while doing Eureka Content. It hasn't been said yet.
He's talked in more recent interviews how he's planning for Eureka to be the means of expanding your character beyond 70. Among the content involved will likely include relics, but they are being moved into something on the side, rather than being the thing to progress with like before.
I hope the Eureka zone is always max level, whatever that is at any time.
So the capped level will always be at the max level.
Hypothetical expansions
- 70 at SB
- 80 at moon expansion
- 90 at Garlemald expansion
With the progression being upgradable relics and character boons be it stats, skill modifications, or traversal powers. Horizontal and vertical progression minus the ilevel. With the feeling sort of like Abyssea, you can go anywhere inside if you are at the current level cap, but somethings will be to hard to do without progression inside the zone.
Give the people who don't like raiding but want a battle class reason to do something and spend hundreds of hours in and steadily progress.
ESO has champion points, but this is applicable throughout the game and capped, almost acting like a iattribute. Guild Wars 2 has masteries, I am not sure if those apply everywhere or just Heart Of Thorns. FFXI had merit points and those were applicable game wide.
I wish for perpetual progression but contained within the original Eureka zone or later Eureka zones. Reason for wanting containment with the actual content is because progression would have to be severely limited to not break the rest of the game. And if I have to take a break due to caps be it time or power, it would feel just like another time gate like the rest of the game.

Eureka may be a mix of Deep Dungeon and The Diadem because devs said you'll be able to grow and progress your own character in it, which sounds like PotD in one open zone. And with new relic weapon and armor being upgradeable only there, it may work like PotD gear upgrades.
I wonder what type of "Relic armor" will we get.
Will it be like old system -> aka chest/pants/gloves/helm/boots [but upgradeable] or it will be something different.
On topic: 101 is still useless and big waste of time, we need 151+, it's the only funny/interesting part of PotD (for me, at least) with something worth to sell.
While Eureka has nothing to do with PotD, I do think its a long overdue update for PotD.
I'd love to start at floor 100 because as I'd love to hit 200 again, but that 50-100 feels like a waste of time XD.
