With Season 6 coming in a week already...

Anyone think we will see any balance changes again? I kind of miss Manafication and I don't really want Vercure at all. I thought RDM was in a good spot in 4.06a.

I hope so. I like to have different play-styles each season (just not mid-season as they did this time).

Or does the shorter season not warrant any changes?

Dont expect much i disliked the Ninja changes alot the class was in a good spot untill they lowered the potency on Raiton and Bhavacakra and added the stun to Bhavacakra... :mad:

I want a stun on corps-a-corps so I don't keep running around in melee form like a chicken with my feathered head cut off.

I see the new season of the Feast lasts until 4.2 - so the whole season is something like 2 months? That can't be right, can it?

They would have to bring back stuns for a monk and dragoon then. This would literally make RDM OP. I was on BRD and running away from a RDM. He was out of range for all of my shots but I was in range for his corps-a-corps... So you can say adding a stun to this is a sensitive subject for me.

It will be shorter based on player feedback so yes, that's correct.

I'd like to see stun brought back for all classes.

Hopefully we'll see balance changes. Don't they usually put patch notes during maintenance?

I just want TBN nerfed and PLD's stun back to 3s again.

Yeah, I can't say I'm happy about that. I get that they're trying to use it as a balance against the risk we take when diving in, and to give us more utility from a range. But even at 2000 it's still only 1.25:1 mana efficient.

They said they wanted to give players fewer skills with greater impact, but Vercure just does not accomplish this goal at all. I would trade it for a 750 Potency Fleche in an instant.

On the other hand, I see what they did with Monomachy

I don't exactly like the fact that they're supporting the Split-Burst Mechanic... Actually, we should talk about that.

Of course none of this touches on how awkward the whole second Phase is - and really wouldn't even be necessary if there wasn't such a huge GCD delay and animation delay between Enchanted Redoublet and Verflare/Holy. As it is, Phase II is pretty spread out because of GCD as well compared to the Melee Combo, making it the most deadly of the two phases due the lower amount of time it takes.

There is also the issue of Displacement, it's horrible as a combo weve, and a different oGCD could be used here (*ahem*Fleche...)

If they insist on supporting this method through the use of Monomachy, the need to reduce the recast/GCD time on Holy/Flare so it chains well with Impact.

If they want to encourage more traditional combos, (Melee combo into Holy/Flare finisher) they need to reduce the GCD on Enchanted Redoublet so the finisher isn't so delayed.

I'd like to see both delay adjustments, honestly as it's pretty much the major thing holding the job back from feeling smooth. (Alternately, they can give me my effing fleche!)

Monomachy with the reduced cooldown is helpful in pushing Melee Phase damage, and making it synch more with traditional combos. But it's additional effects to CaC and Displacement encourages the 2 Phase approach.

It's like they don't know how they want RDM to deal damage - or they want to give them choices, but can't get the flexibility to seam well.

I'd be happy with Fleche. Monomachy reducing CD of Corps/Displacement does nothing for me. You explained the Phases very well. More often than not I tend not to use Phase 1 as burst, but more weave the melees in between as I continue to build up white/black mana. I rely very much on phase 2 for getting the kill, but mostly end up with 1 or 2% left, but with me far away thanks to awkwardly having to use Displacement during the burst, sometimes not being able to get that impact in even. This is where Fleche would feel very very nice.

As it stands now, this is how I'd rank RDM performance patch-wise from best to worst.

I have had a lot of trouble with the new style, even the 4.06 "vanilla" Red Mage that was deemed a joke felt better to me.

Monk does feel very weak, their build up for burst takes to long and it's easy to lose if an enemy runs away.

Their lack of range definitely stops them from being useful, even SAM has Enpi, MNK gets nothing but 1 30 second wind tackle that you can use twice.

Personally I feel like Wind Tackle and Riddle of Wind should grant a range increase to Monk combos so that they can hit on the run or have wind tackle convert into riddle of wind but rather than be another 500 potency tackle it's a 15 second buff that applies range to all mnk actions.

Dont think monk is weak they have the best burst tho it takes a while to build up you can basicly shut down someone alone if you use it correcly,
At least the good ones i have seen in feast.
