Would you like to play "Padjal" race?

Hello ^^
After seeing that SE is starting to loosen up and let some races have they're
corresponding matches, I was wondering if other players would like to see "Padjal"
as a playable race.

I know this race might be too "sacred" to play with considering the lore of the game but
asking doesn't hurt.

Actually this is the one race I believe it's the most likely to become available if they do put new races in the game.
I wouldn't make a padjal myself, but they do look good.

I'd be interested in this Demi-Human race they mentioned. They mentioned a Dragon race as well but I'm assuming beastmen on that end.

If you really want to beat up every last inch of the already frail coherence of the lore, padjal is indeed a good choice for a new playable race.

I wouldn't be an imp, but I'd be fine with them being a race.
It's something (fairly) original to FFXIV, unlinke if we just pulled races from ivalice.

actually, they could introduce them into the game with the lore surrounding the 7th umbral era. When the maps are changed and the servers are switched there could be a influx of Padjal's who seek to return the realm to peace or something like that. Lore is what ever the writers write.

that being said i wouldn't mind if they were a race, but im really hoping for some more unique races as well.

I think we have enough human-races-with-one-additional-feature now.

How about we have some awesome final fantasy-esque races? The artists for this game are excellent, I'm sure they can come up with some awesome stuff.

If not, bring in some of the epic races from other FFs, but that's not really preferable in my opinion.

I wouldn't play one, but I do think they are a cute race and I like the way they look. I wouldn't mind at ALL if SE has some new race (or two) hidden up their sleeves and when 2.0 comes out (and they allow us to remake/change our races and characters) they pop them out and surprise us!

To be honest... I kinda felt they did a cop out by basically using the same 5 races from FFXI (with minor tweeks) and didn't introduce at least one other new races to the mix. That is probably the old teams fault and has nothing to do with Yoshi, so here is hoping Yoshi pop's in one or two new races with 2.0! :D

It could be worked into the lore for Padjals to exist, but it'd be awkward. Seems like the FFXIV equivalent of Gria. Anyways, I think I'd rather play as this race than as a Manqo'te if they ever added it.

I would LOVE to play a Padjal! I play elves in pretty much all my MMOs, so considering giving up my Elezen wouldn't be easy. But I love the lore behind them.

I <3 Kan-E-Senna. She's like a childlike Celtic Goddess. Sacred and beautiful.

But I have to agree that I'm on the fence with others about allowing them into the game as a playable race, lorewise.

However... Blizzard makes drastic changes to their lore all the time. Just look at the addition of Night Elf Mages and Blood Elves. *shrugs*

I wouldn't be surprised if they were added, but in my opinion they don't look distinguished enough from the regular humes to be a new playable race.

Children look bad in this game so no.

Lalafel are better and cuter.

Well they did say they're looking into dragons and demi-humans as playable races after Miqo'te male and Ragedyne female are finished, I'd think padjal would fall under demi-human. Also, not to be a grammar nazi, but it's "their" not "they're"

Yeah this would be cool. If it was anything like Gria I'd play it. I just don't want to be a child. >.> I've been dying for a sexy demon race. I want horns :> Pleassssse SE give us this ^_^

They are too human esque for my liking.

The only thing that really seperates them from humans is the horns.

I'd prefer something original like the Yukes from FF Chronicles.

id love to be a new race, however, IMO Padjals are just humes with horns, and literally nothing else.

I'd .. like to play a Padjal..

But I don't really see it happening. Thematically speaking Padjal seem to be extremely rare occurrences and Gridanian culture very careful about what happens to them. It'd.. well, hurt the setting too much to change that in my opinion. That aside they're inherently more powerful than your average adventurer too I believe, so..

I guess not, in the end, no.

Its almost like asking for being the sultan/king of uldah or admiral of limsa lominsa.
Padjal arent even a real race. they are chosen children by the forest which never age.

But than again it wouldn't really stray too far from our current lineup of Humans, Little Humans, Big Humans, and Humans with Cat Ears. It's a common problem that far too many MMOs share, every race is just a slight mod of a Human, and its saddening, especially when you see the possibilities in a game like Tera where you have choices from Rock People to Pandas, Char in GW2, or Ferres from ArcheAge, there are so many ways of making races unique, XIV's and XI's way of doing it has always bothered me a little, it feels cheap and uninspired.

The Padjal are pretty great and would be interesting to play as... but I do agree, I would like them to stick with the lore here (though of course, things could drastically change with 2.0's storyline). Still, I too would love to see XIV give us a more in-human race to play as for characters.

For the record, I'd reroll to play as a goblin complete with a /bomb emote.

No thanks. I'd rather them spending those resources on other stuff, maybe in some really different race.

Why would I want them to add a new human to the mix of already malformed line up we got? We already got cos-players I would rather like a real new race instead of just a horn wearing cos-player. They have this series of tactics games that had a nice line up of races that would have been nicer to see but hey we got humans of different sizes. Give me moogle back as a playable race. Weeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I would not use them myself, but it would still be neat to see them playable.

I'm pretty sure SE intended this to be a playable race in the original designs, but got left out.

Over all I would very much like to play a horned race, but my only request, is being given more options for the horns (main distinguishing feature)

Mainly for an option to have forward facing horns.
Most MMO or games tend to limit female characters horns to backwards, straight up, downwards, or curled back.
But that's pretty much the only reason I have hopes to place as this race. (Also I like their height. not as small as lalas, but not as tall as miqote)
