Scatter - 24man

Can someone please explain this mechanic to me. I have no idea how I clear it and how I pass it.

On angel face do I ..... run away? Stay still? Look at him?
On devil face do I .... stand on other people?

HALP I DON'T GET IT

For Scatter, if the boss is telling the truth (Angel Face), you want to run around and not be still.
If the boss is lying (Demon Face), you want to stand still (and don’t attack; auto-attacks will count against you).

Angelface: Move, standing still and just attacking is not enough, you have to move.
Devilface: Don't do anything, didn't proof it with autoattcks but movement is forbidden and also skills.

Just want to say that part is wrong. As long as you are NOT stacked with other people, and have space, you can stand still. I did it just last night, every angel face with the spread mechanic and I stood still casting with space around me, didn't get hit at all.

Edit: Since I realize I hadn't corrected my post after I had been proven wrong, and personally experienced the correct method, it is actually just keep moving/casting. You do not need to be spread out, just don't stop moving when the white mask flashes.

you were still casting - counts as movement which is why attacking counts against you in the other phase.

The scatter mechanic isn't just to group up with other blue swords or scatter away from everyone if you have purple? That is what I have been doing and I still attack on both and can't recall ever getting damaged.

Yeah, Ive sat still before, away from ppl, and thought maybe it was a glitch, as sometimes i got hit, and sometimes I dont.
But with the blue face, once I realized I wasnt allowed to cast, I then realized the opposite might be true for white face.

That was the original thought when it came out. Turns out Scatter isnt quite the correct term for the mechanic imo. But I tested the moving/not moving (including attacking) and that was accurate. But it's a timer mechanic too. so you could have just gotten lucky by the time the timer hit.

Be in motion (or be still when it's lying).
It's the same as the freezing mechanics of Snowcloak/O4/Shinryu Ex.

I agree that Scatter probably isn't the best wording choice, as I thought I had to be separated from people at first.

I mean I guess it does, but one generally thinks of moving away and dispersing.

This is what I thought as well originally but there were instances where it was clearly not the case for me. "Scatter" is an odd term for "Acceleration bomb".

From my experience going in a ninja and astro .... casting or using a skill doesn't seem to count against me. Maybe I am just lucky, but after 10+ runs, I have yet to run into it.

I run almost exclusively on AST or SCH, and casting does count against you if you get Scatter and it’s the demon face. The idea is to stand completely still if the boss is lying, and to not stand still if he’s telling the truth. “Scatter” is probably very bad wording on the devs’ part.
