ruin 3 being the standard spell is amazing and with the no cast during DWT combined with all the bahamut shenanigans, its like a one man firework machine
It flows pretty well from what I've done so far. Ruin 4 feels awesome, ruin 3 spam is pretty neat, it feels good to go DWT and deathflare fools.
I haven't even begun looking into rotations for it yet though lol but I do enjoy the ruin updates.
yes, the Ruin change really helped smooth things out for me, I find it more intuitive
hmm how do i tell bahamut to stop moving?
He casts wyrmwaves for every action that you put on an enemy. So ideally during one summon of bahamut, you want him to do 11 wyrmwaves (and 2 ahk morns), though this isn't always possible and you'll get better at it. This is why you want to wait to summon bahamut until you have your aetherflow back from your last dreadwyrm trance.
so would ruin 2 spam during bahamut summon maximize his dps?
Yes. Ideally it should go something like:
ruin 2 (aetherflow)->ruin 2 (summon bahamut+fester)->ruin 2 (ahk morn)->ruin 2 (fester)->ruin 2 (addle)->ruin 2 (fester)->ruin 2 (tri disaster)->ruin 2 (ahk morn)->bahamut de-summons
It won't always play out like this depending on the fight, and sometimes you might need to save addle for hard-hitting raid wides if you're doing high level content (almaghests), but in casual content you should be able to make this work.
Did anyone notice bahamut enkindle must be cast 2 secs prior his desummon despite being an instant cast? Apparently its animation locked and if you try to pop it at its last second, it won't go off.
I thought it was a server tick thing at first but considering I can cast DWF at the last second, I see that it isn't.
EDIT: I'm going to double-check on a dummy tonight if its animation lock or not. It might have popped before but I could have missed it due to ongoing things in a duty
I agree. I said awhile ago 4.0 Summoner has the makings of a dance with Summoner like it was in Heavensward and 4.1 helped that a ton. There's still some major kinks with the pet system that I feel could be better handled, however I can look past that considering the job flows much better than before.
As for the Bahamut Enkindle, I think and please someone correct me if I'm wrong but Enkindle is an OGCD to the player, yes, however the Ahk Morn fall under the pet que for Bahamut meaning even if he does a wrymwave, it still has to wait the GCD of 2.5 seconds before Bahamuts Ahk Morn goes off, similar to like Garuda's contagion for example.
I recently got my SMN to 70 so I'm still playing around with it and trying to figure Bahamut out but it's a lot of fun when you're blowing things up during DWT.
Massive improvements indeed. Now Bahamut prioritizes attack over moving, and you can double Akh Morn (beofra 4.1 he get away after a Akh Morn, now he stay till timer ends). The Ruin III / IV adjustment are great indeed. Also, after Dragoon, have the second longest opener in the game. (Considering opener from beggining till Bahamut gets away) But that's pretty interesting a crazy. I like it more now.
Before the patch I was dreading leveling it, and when I started, I hated it. It felt weak compared to everything else at that point. But, after the patch, I finished up and was a little sad I only needed 5 levels to 70. It was certainly good what they did and I enjoy the changes a lot.
when i do miasma3->bio 3->fester really fast will that only count as 1 wyrm wave or 3?
Is it still complicated to learn if you have no experience with the job?
I keep an eye on the button for the ahk mourns to always leech out two. I haven't gotten a rotation down to make it more efficient as of yet and it seems like I take forever to get bahamut out but I like how it feels now at least. Also I was wanting to experiment with my older gearsets using spellspeed materia and spellspeed food to see if its even possible to get more than two.
Bahamut can get behind in Wyrmwaves if you animation lock him, but afaik he won't 'forget' to Wyrmave. You should get the same number of wyrmwaves out regardless as long as you don't make him move.
Ideally you won't need to hardcast your dots, you instead either use tri-d or swift-Miasma and bio so that you don't overlap.
Huh what ?
First, Bahamut still does not prioritize attack over movement sorry.
Second, it always has been possible since 4.0 to double Akh Morn, and he always stayed for the entire timer of 20 seconds, what are you talking about ?? (went away after first Akh Morn ? what ? lol)
Maybe she got confused with the pvp profil? q.q
idk I still find it rather easy to mess up with a hefty punishment (especially if you're used to the old regular summoner before the adjustments).
Bane or painflare could really get their aetherflow requirement removed (especially bane).
Somehow Tri-Disaster puts me off with its timers and when to use it
It just still doesn't seem to have a nice flow between all their skills like other jobs do and it doesn't flow naturally. Maybe I need to get used to it but the changes could have been better - in fact I was hoping for a big revamp, something akin to the bard treatment
What about auto attacks on bahamut? Will they make Wyrmwaves?
I mean would it be better to stay doing all ur attacks on melee range?
The behaviour isn't any different now as it was in the past. This has been thoroughly tested at every patch. People have just grown more used to what to expect.
The problems people have always perceived has been what happens before Akh Morn resolves because of the action delay after doing Enkindle Bahamut where his default steady AI always wants to have pets in one of several positions around you the master if you are far enough out of range. This is why we just say to not move until after Akh Morn resolves if you can help it and definitely don't immediately before you Enkindle.
I've always wondered why people focus on the 100y range thing so much. You lose npc aggro beyond a certain range limit in the majority of circumstances as well as losing the target altogether. Bahamut just won't be able to see it :D
It’s not really bout the 100y but bout the rabbit behavior of Bahamut q.q You are a fuckin dragon lord so stay your ground instead of chicken run .___.
If doing it right Bahamut will stutter and cast wyrmwaves as he moves. The only time when he completely prioritizes movement until he is next to you is when executing Akh Morn. To alleviate that, treat Bahamut like BLM ley lines moving back towards him after dodging whenever possible to minimize his movement, it's not that big of a deal when/if it happens.
