[QOL request] Enemy Hp values visible on health bar.

ok been a while since i last requested something with a QOL ( http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...rks-on-minimap ) so here goes nothing :D

So we all know that we can have either have the % hp remaining show up next to the health bar or nothing at all, and that is good and all, but i was wondering if we could gain the ability to see the actually HP values of bosses as well either next to the % remaining,

for example what we have now would look like

The Avatar 50%

which is fine for knowing some transitions

but what i am asking for is for a option to turn it into this

The Avatar 50% 499,998 / 999,996 (HP value was found on reddit.)

basically to add in a nice way to know how much health the boss has left, i think it would be a nice way to know how much damage is needed. say if you wiped at 1% of the avatar to continue my example you would of either of wiped at 1HP remaining meaning that RNG just didn't like you or a single missed attack hitting could of made it. or at 9999/10000 HP, which would mean more people need to hit more, or a death needs to be avoided.

tho thats me trying to explain how it could be helpful to the more serious masses on the raid scene (using a admittedly old boss as a example)
i imagen it would be a nice Quality of life patch for those on pc or on PS4


personally i find that info nice to know, and kinda nice to see go down.

but what do you guys think, good idea, bad idea. anyway to word it better then my poor attempt,

It also helps to know if the target become invulnerable or not during some phases.
Example: sometimes the target jumps/flies but .. they still take damage from DoTs so it is worth having them up.

Honestly doubt it'll ever happen. They obscure information about damage on purpose, this would be a reversal of that policy.

I would love this too but that would make it too easy to parse dps with solid numbers and that's something SE has been very firm against. Percentages are still somewhat easy to figure out if you math it out but not as easy as seeing the actual number.

even so it would still be good to know, some people react better to knowing a definitive number to a percentile, but i can see where your coming from D:

but i know from seeing people's videos on reddit, youtube and twitch, it doesn't stop people on pc from having it added to there game, this is a way to at least balance both players, it isn't a full parcer to be implemented just a nice QOL that can have multiple purposes.

people can figure out there DPS from the % remaining on SSS and there was a time people wanted you to do that to say what your DPS would be. in terms they were able to parse there damage output with that

Sorry I disagree it's not needed.
It doesn't really add anything to the game.
You see the Bar go down that should be good enough.
I would almost like to see some bosses without bars at all so you have no clue how your doing or when a phase is going to change.

if you dont mind me asking, to explain your idea, a little. because all i imagine that would cause is a lot of annoyance and a very hostile (e.g. the whole skip soar crap that happened with Zurvan) type mentality. since without the bar or any hp value to help people or for that visual queue people wont get when a phase shift happens, and i beleave alot of people would majorly dislike that.

Don't feed the troll.

This game needs more transparency with numbers across the board. HP bars would be a good start.

I'd like this simply because I like knowing HP numbers.

was playing to the benifit of the doubt to see if they would explain why they would want that XD sometimes those with odd requests may just want a challange thrown into the game.

Well honestly, lots of games you never see health numbers or even bars for the enemies you face. Final Fantasy games included. At most you'd have other visual cues as to how badly hurt the boss is.

other final fantasy games had abilities like Libra or Scan that allowed you to see the HP value of the monster, and even the earlier ones had a bestiary that allowed you to see the hp value. (granted outside of combat.)

Remakes of the early ones had bestiary and you're wasting a move to see an hp bar instead of just killing it. You'd get by just fine without.

Boss is dead when the boss is dead.

Bumping back up

It would be interesting but not all that useful for me really.

What I really want to see is my crit %, DH%, etc. Those values should not be hidden. Everyone is going in blind when it comes to gear/materia. My best guess is that SE hopes it encourages people to play their play style rather than the optimal spread but honestly people will do that if you just balance the stats properly.

All they need to do is change the network data relayed so that it only relays the remaining HP in %. That way no matter what mods or parser junk the player has installed, they have no advantage. People already know what the HP of the monsters are from data mining, and that will not change.

People who are "World Firsters" use an app that shows *EXACTLY* what the OP requested. Obviously, if they think it's essential to progress then I don't see why the rest of us "scrubs" should have access to the data too.

You wanna hear another secret? we also have access to the exact emnity numbers too. It lets you know not only the exact emnity figure but the rate of generation (so any tank knows how to optimize their GCD emnity expenditure efficiently). This game hates data and math for some reason and there are a legion of luddites who like to keep it that way.
