really?
really?
*face palm*
Oh come on guys it wouldn't be General Discussion without your daily dose of self entitled "I quit" threads and all that nonsense :D
Someone cant read roadmaps it looks like 1.21 is set for end of Jan/beginning of Feb, also lets not forget 1.20 was delayed so that will probably affect it a little bit.
Your lure was 1.20 which you cant do yet. lol
I'm not sure where I wrote that I was quitting. I just started playing three weeks ago, everything is still new and exciting to me.
I assure you, I can read just fine. I'm just highlighting what seems to me was a poor business decision.
I hope they release 1.21 a few days before renew, that would be bait
While I'm sure that technically the two seasonal events were part of 1.20, that's not what I was referring to. I agree that the seasonal events should have gone on as planned.
I meant content more along the lines of the Achievement system, Auction house, Moogle BCNM, should have been withheld until Jan 6th. If they were not planning a new content patch to launch with their subscription system.
The bait is to hope this game turns into a great MMO at the end of this year. Oh yeah and those mounts.
lol, yeah, people wouldnt have been pissed off, sure
thats why they were already raging over a 1 week delay
come on now, this is just rediculous
they announced how it would be done way ahead of time, they said 1.20 would come out, be out for a bit, then wed get billed, then 1.21 wouild come out shortly after
so they are doing exactly what they said they would do, and anyone who is suprirsed at this point in the game is extremely slow
People get angry and mad when the game is down because of natural diasters, you think they wont be angry over a 4 week extended delay? lmao, you really need to understand the XIV community is fragile and aggressive, when the servers were down for an hour longer maintenance that we was informed of than the usual 3hour, people raged, when the patch got delayed 1 and half days due to market ward issue, people raged.Get used to it tho lol
Also 1.20 was bait, Yoshi said it himself, he said "go play 1.20 and decide if its worth paying for or not", it was the bait, it doesnt matter if it was released or not. Do you stand by the river with maggots and say to the fish "these will be yours soon, so soon! look at tasty they look, could be yours!", no you dunk the maggots in and give them to the fish, then hook them in when they like what they see and go for it.
1.21 it's still planned for mid jenuary- beginning february. More probably the second part of the phrase, so it's better not expect a bait soon
I had thought they were suppose to start charging in late November/early December. Pretty much when the patch came out. 1.20 that is, but they moved it to the sixth. This was also well said with plenty of time in advance. I think they made the right decision myself. Let people get a taste of the patch and decide from there. I do think though if they wanted more people to stay 1.21 would have been good bait, but at the same time that is one month extra people are not paying for. So from a business point of view... I'm not sure which would have been the better choice.
According to the operational roadmap, 1.21 was tentatively slated to be released in early February. So that might not be too far off the mark. I'd say mid to late February would probably be more realistic but I guess we'll hear more about that towards the end of this month.
Yes, I would, that is the whole point of bait!
In reality the analogy of what Yoshi P is doing is more like this though. Pored his bucket of bait in the water, the fish ate everything and got their fill. Then he comes back with more bait, after the fish are stuffed with food, and tries to sell it to them.
I prefer to think of it in terms of you don't buy a car before test driving it first. 1.20 was our test drive, you try it out first to see if you'll like it.
But it's exactly like how some other MMO's offer a few weeks of free play initially. Try it out, see if you like it and if you do, continue on with your subscription.
I honestly don't see the problem here.
Oh my god people. READ. READ. READ. READ.
If you cared about this game at all you would have looked at the road map for 2.0 and seen that 1.21 isn't coming out until at least early Feb.
And here I thought this was a thread about fishing... T^T
Seriously though, I'm glad patch 1.20 came out before billing started, because I was really put off with the idea that they changed all of the abilities and such... but playing for that short amount of time solidified my desire to keep playing, as I actually find the new combat with the personal combo system a lot of fun!
So, yeah. I think 1.20 was the bait.
(Now if they can do something to make crafting more fun, I'll be all set!)
