Enmity Testing Round 1 results.

So today I decided to do Enmity testing with a fellow linkshell mate that had GLA at 50, here are the results.

2 Gladiators Setup, No gear.

1st Gladiator provoked, Mob on him. 2nd Gladiator provoked, mob stayed on 1st Gladiator.

1st Gladiator provoked, mob on him. 2nd Gladiator provoked with +10 enmity belt, mob turned to 2nd Gladiator

1st Gladiator provoked, mob on him. 2nd Gladiator flashed mob stayed with 1st Gladiator

1st Gladiator provoked, mob on him. 2nd Gladiator flashed x2 mob turned to 2nd Gladiator

1st Gladiator provoked, mob on him. 2nd Gladiator flashed x2 mob turned to 2nd Gladiator. 1st Gladiator flashed, mob turned to 1st Gladiator

1st Gladiator provoked, mob on him. 2nd Gladiator flashed with +10 enmity, mob stayed on 1st Gladiator

1st Gladiator provoked, mob on him. 2nd Gladiator used sentinel and then provoke mob turned to 2nd Gladiator

1st Gladiator provoked, mob on him. 2nd Gladiator provoked no change, 2nd Gladiator then used rampart, mob turned to 2nd Gladiator

1st Gladiator used sentinel & provoke, mob on him. 2nd Gladiator Flashed x2, mob turned to 2nd Gladiator

1st Gladiator used sentinel & provoke, mob on him. 2nd Gladiator provoked & rampart, mob turned to 2nd Gladiator

1st Gladiator used sentinel & provoke, mob on him. 2nd Gladiator flashed, no change, 2nd Gladiator then used rampart, mob turned to 2nd Gladiator

Gladiator & a DoH Class (Stone Throw test)

1st Gladiator provoked. DoH did stone throw 158 times for a total of 571 damage before mob turned on DoH

1st Gladiator Flashed. DoH did stone throw 113 times for 381 damage before mob turned on DoH

1st Gladiator Sentinel and then provoked. DoH did stone throw 266 times for 677 damage before mob turned on DoH

Summary:

Provoke is the highest enmity spike ability.
Flash is roughly 2/3 enmity of provoke.
Provoke is equal to 571 points of damage
Flash is equal to 381 points of damage
Sentinel adds roughly 100 points of enmity to each ability that is used while under the effect of sentinel

I will be conducting stage 2 of Enmity testing which will involve finding the static value of rampart, and cure spells. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

What you could also still test is if Rampart provides higher emnity if you get it to buff multiple partymembers.

Good stuff Technolust - had a feeling Provoke was that good.

I second KumaAkuma's suggestion. Rampart's description says that it generates "massive enmity", but I've had Gladiators who did AOE Ramparts instantly lose hate after a teammate hit for something along the lines of 80-100 damage. I'm assuming Rampart is more for an opening move to make sure your squishier members don't accidentally get extra hate from doing what they need to do.

Can you test the abilities on different classes and not just GLA. Clearly, only the abilities that are cross-class apply, but would like to know if there is a threat drawback from out of class use. (I'm sure there is)

Phase 2 of the testing will include Rampart and every possible outcome with Rampart. I do believe however based off of current tests that Rampart generates a static amount of hate, imo though it does not generate 'massive enmity' as the description says.

I can test it on cross class abilities, but cross class testing will take some time.

The next test phase is do conclude the rest of the GLD enmity test.

Phase 2 was this enmity test.

Phase 3 will be round 2 of enmity test

Phase 4 will be STR vs ATK Power test

I might be able to throw in some class cross tests in phase 3 but it would be very limited.

Im current understanding of Rampart is that you need to be on the monster's hate list, before you can generate hate with it. The questions I still have is

1) Will Rampart's hate improve at all for each party member being buffed by it.

2) Do partymembers need to be on the monster's hate list as well before you can get a hate bonus from those partymembers.


For example: When Moogle King spawns.

If you do Rampart first it's most likely that you won't generate any hate, because you're not on his list yet.
If you Provoke first (he'll do his thing) and then do Rampart only after all partymembers get hit, it should actually generate massive hate.
If you Provoke, then Flash first (he'll do his thing and you'll hit several moogles) and then do Rampart only after all partymembers get hit, it should actually generate massive hate on King and several moogles.

That's how it "seems" to go for me, but very interested in what your next testresults will be.

I think many players are also interested in Cure as one of the very important cross-class abilities.

Would love to include it into the tests.

I will be doing cure in the rampart testing stage as well, how ever Cure is going to be a little bit tricky so it might take some more time,

If you have the patience to do more stone throwing I'd like to see the results of +hate versus no +hate

Can you clarify what you mean?

Like doing stone throw while not having any mob enmity?

I think he means emnity gear.

Ah, all the tests were done without +enmity gear bar one. Phase 2 of the enmity tests will be done on Wednesday, so I plan to have the results up that night.

OK seriously, I have been playing with me GLD lvl 12, my brother THm 12, and Mother is CNJ 12. I have Rampart and just got provoke.
Now, If anyone cast cure on me, or the THM cast any spell and the enemy he will pull hate. I can do nothing to hold hate for any real amount of time. What gives? I mean hell it takes too long to unclick if a link happens to target the enemy on the THM. Then if the CNJ cures me it pulls the other and i can provoke, but Why can't I just hold hate.
