I am with you on this. I decided to P2P today and went through three hours of click and buy errors before I gave up. No money from me for SE today I guess since they decided to pick a useless payment method.
SE, people are leaving because you don't give them any payment options that actually allow them to pay. Where are your priorities?
It's unfortunate that a lot of users will give up simply because paying is a frustration. Fortunately for myself, I live in NA and can buy Crysta directly via CC.
Sigh... SE I would like to play please. You are making it so I will just give up in the end because you won't give me more then one option to pay you and that one option isn't working for me.
Honestly, it's not even that. I sat on the computer/phone for 4 hours yesterday talking to Paypal support who told me that ultimate pay was voiding all 5 of my card types. I got in contact with Click and Buy via email I sent a few back and forth with the customer service who told me "After close examination of your ClickandBuy account, we could find no cause for the issue you described."
And not to mention I called 35mins prior to Ultimate Pay closing to attempt to find out why 5 of my cards keep getting voided. Only to hear "We're sorry our hours of operation is 9am-4pm EST" wonderful. I'm PST calling at 12:30pm
I've tried every payment option offered over 5 cards and contacted my bank who tell me it's the service company's voiding my cards. And everyone I've spoken to in Customer support either says "theres no problem" or points the fault at bank/paypal etc.
Way frustrating.
It wouldn't have been so bad but I started this process a good week and a half before payment knowing I didn't want it getting down to the last minute but between verification to cards via small charges and confirmations it took me right up to the payment date. Leaving me stuck with loosing 2 of my characters and only paying for 1 for 1month opposed to having 3 characters for 6months.
SRSLY. /facepalm take my ********* $80.00 USD so I can not have to deal with this shit.
Found out from playspan/ultimate pay that new accounts are limited to 100 dollars a week or 1 transaction a week. Accounts are no longer "new" after 90 days. Huge fail on SE's part. Direct payment option plz.
I posted some stuff on JP side thread talking about subscription fee, seems like Japan side got direct payment to SE so none of them had to go through all this stuff lol
everytime i'm trying to pay i get error 105, so i checked clickandbuy account and found out my account is temporary blocked, and to confirm my CC i had to pay 1 to 1.99 USD? and i had to write back the amount they deduct in my bank statement but everytime they say the amount is wrong, and when i try again they will just keep deducting from my CC, i called clickandbuy and they said they will send me an email to confirm my payment, got nothing till now ><
thanx SE, the reason i was forced to leave FFXI was because of playonline and now clickandbuy, why they make it hard for us to pay when we want to support the game?
Meh SE's HQ is in Japan so probably it's easy to setup direct payment system there but for non Japan they have to follow that countries laws and stuff so probably they are having hard time... is my guess.
But then again SE does have offices all around the world and I don't think I've heard too much problems when payment was through playonline in FFXI... I never had problems in XI
How the fuck did you manage this?
I'm in NA and my only options are ClickandBuy, Crysta via ClickandBuy, or UltimatePay... Please explain.
EDIT: Oh and none of which actually work btw. Yet somehow SE autobilled my expired credit card today for 10$ with a ClickandBuy account that I never signed up for.
ultimatePay lets you buy cryta directly with CC, you dont have to sign up with ultimatepay unlike clicknbuy
how does one deduct money from an expired CC that was never assigned to an account? smells like bs
My CC expired 01/2012, they already sent me the new one, which I activated over a week ago. I had the old CC tied to my FFXIV account long before bill date, but I'd never created a ClickandBuy account. So they have an expired card on file, and charged it with 10$ without my knowledge.
Just buy specific amount of Crysta for that 6 month period and just apply that when paying with crysta, worked for me this morning when paying for my wifes account
edit: to find out how much crysta you need just change payment method to crysta and it will send you to that billing detail page and it shows total crysta. I just wrote that amount down and bought the exact amount, came back to billing and applied the crysta.
Edit: my comment was already posted.
My FFXI account died this way.
At the time, had to log into PlayOnline client to update your billing information, but once you miss a payment (getting new card with new expiration date), your account was suspended. And the account couldn't be unsuspended until you paid them. Couldn't update billing information through web site. Customer service tells me all I have to do is pay, but they can't update the billing information either.
Went back and forth with SE, SE kept "charging" the expired card each month and terminated my FFXI account for delinquency.
New card never got the deduction and didn't receive any new calls from collectors that think I owe them. The service will continue to tally a charge even if the payment didn't go through the first time for some reason.
Yep sounds right, only one part that was weird was right after making your payment the crysta info on top of that members page still showed 0 but I got the payment confirmation so I just proceeded with crysta payment and it took it and got e-mail confirmation + tested login with wifes account and she was able to get in so it should be good.
Well I guess I will give it a shot if I can use PayPal. I wonder how it will work with the currency conversion to CAD though...
Yea, I kind of feel its not good for their image to implement it for Japan and not the others though, its kind of like the rep posts on the JP side, if it wasn't for your translation thread we'd know dildly squat tbh lol.
People could easily interpret it to suggest that Japanese players are more important to SE than the rest of the world. (It's only natural to be loyal to your nationality of course but your not supposed to show that as a business)
Hmmm.
lol... PayPal Express keeps rejecting my payment. Fuck this, I'll wait until the end of Jan to see what new payment method SE pulls out of their ass.
I have this exact same problem. When I called Paypal their customer service said it's fine on their side and looks fine on the banks side but playspan for whatever reason was the one voiding the account. Spoke with bank today and they too didn't know why it was not working since the money got taken out of our account sent to them then sent back to my bank account.
After spending nearly 10hours attempting to do this through ALL of the options on the SE site.
LS mate recommended getting an "Ultimate Game Card" its 20$ and SE excepts it as a card when you try through ultimate pay. I've called a gamestop down the street and they have them. For anyone having CC/debit card issues since I've now tried every option on 5 cards, and customer service (aside from paypal) from these 3rd party services are little to none of a help- this seems to be the most viable option for myself.
It just sucks that I know have to pay 10$ just to REACTIVATE the accounts that I couldn't keep open just because the stupid payment methods.
Thanks SE for getting my 10$ when I was trying to give you 80$ in the first place.
Protip
If you use Click and buy, fill it with the exact funds in 5$ increments first so you have control of what it pulls and when from your bank account.
Click n buy will pull the money from your account if you don't, example:
Your C&B balance is under 7$ and you try to buy 10$ worth of Crysta, knowing it will just pull the remainder from your bank account [C&B tells you it is going to do this right before it does].
