Why exactly is Brotherhood still so weak?
Unless Devotion's effect is changed, which I doubt it will be, it's going to be 5% to every party member both magic and physical.
And I know Brotherhood increases our Forbidden Chakra proc chance, but that's RNG. There are time where we'll get absolutely nothing from a Brotherhood window. Especially if we have a caster heavy composition.
So what's up with this? Brotherhood continues to be one of the most underwhelming raid buffs in the game while every other job gets buffs to their raid utility...
With the Devotion change and upcoming Hypercharge buff...

Summoner needed buff to be on par with the other caster. Mnk is 3rd best dps ... If they boost their utility they will need to gimp their dps..
And summoner is the only job that their job utility will be boosted.. -

Also SAM is in a surprisingly worse spot than BLM because it has issues on enmity and NIN and DRG are just too good in the melee spots. Even MNK that is in a better spot than both SAM and BLM gets outshide by how overpowered Disembowel and Shadewalker+Trick are. Both's raw damage are too low for the fact they bring nothing to the party.Quote:

Remember how funny it was when people were freaking out over Samurai's damage in the early weeks of the expansion? Dreaming up all kinds of comps with SAM in them and saying things like "This is the selfish dps monk should've been". Guess it wasn't good enough for people in the end eh :^)
Consider also that if you buff SAM (and perhaps BLM) damage to theoretically put them on even footing with raid buff contributions in an 8m setting, you'll make them massively overpowered in smaller sized content because now they're bringing 8m scale firepower to a setting where the jobs with buffs only have 3 other people to buff.
It's not a bad thing for jobs to have niches in different areas of the game. -

SAM damage was actually on par if not higher than some other jobs at launch, then they started buffing, and buffing, and buffing! But I remember a minority of people saying the big damage didn't matter too. But yeah most were overhyping a lot. BLM was actually kinda garbage at launch and all we got was a damn good QoL that made our rotation be what it should've been at launch.
Oh yeah, to be honest I think BLM dungeon damage is too high just like I tought SMN dungeon damage used to be too high by Heavensward. But that's me. Meanwhile SAM and BLM do shine on pugs when excecuted well in a solo level because group coordination in these groups are close to non existent. The issue is that those buffs slowly make them be both undesired even in these groups but also impact less on them too which was pretty much the situation we had with WHM on Creator because of the stupidly strong 10% aoe Balance. -
