I know that we're forced to do squadrons because the GC rank (and hence the glamour) is locked behind them. So what else are locked behind GC squadrons?
And how can a player who's really not interested in doing this cheap-ass smartphone game cycle of checking on something every 18 hours make it as painless as possible?

So really the only must-have is the GC rank? That's nice to know. Although I still hope they decouple the GC rank from these squadrons...or redesign the squadron content properly and stop using this cheap smartphone game style.

They have some nifty things that you can definitely make use of, but they are not at all mandatory. I mostly did it for the glamour.

If optionnal content piss you off then just don't do it, otherwise you will only end up having a bad opinion of the game. A good example of that would be the yokai event where numerous people forced themselves to do in a few days hundreds of fates they dont like at all, and ended having a burn out and canceling their subscription. Meanwhile, not disliking fates and by doing it a little from time to time i have only 2 weapons and a half left, and i hardly see what is so hard about this event if you know what you are doing.
That being said i am sure looking for bringing my squad in dungeons, hoping that the limited number of them available (5 at first) for that is gonna meant a better AI than the chocobo staying in every aoes. -

Well the dungeoneering part is objectively much better than the mission thing, the question is what it'll be for? I mean why running synched dungeons when I can unsynch them? I guess it might be helpful for those wanting to level alts

Why not just..do the squadrons? It takes like five minutes to send them out and forget about them until the next day. A much simpler task than what was asked of you to achieve second lieutenant.

glamor for them unlocks at level 51+
you can run them only through 5 dungeons (and it's mainly to help you level up alt jobs)
3 new emotes can be unlocked via the squad. which is sit ups, sit ups and the all important squats. -

Captain would be the last rank logically, unless the next expansions are military expansions with no sensible regions connection. Commander need to stay in regional/zone and no way we'll in charge marshall of entire GC without stripping adventurer status. I do want them atleast add more dungeons for our squadron.

Lore wise we're already a one adventurer army who succeeds where aforementioned GCs fail with tremendous support. The only possible setback is that we're basically starting diplomatic incidents left and right but if it took them this long to even acknowledge your being a healer in a a cutscene, I think they'll just go on ignoring such details.Quote:
