ShopTo Campaign is failure!

Okay this is literally crap SE. At this rate I much rather go to Mogstation and buy the damn set with even 40 euros than go through this shit. You are making people (not all even from UK) to a shady looking site to give them our credit card and purchase things that we don't want OR are not even in stock?? It won't even let me purchase anything digitally only physical codes?

Why must you treat Europeans like this and not give us better access like with NA and JP server people? I rather do what they did or even carry a ton of water to my fridge like they had in German. But this is just total bullshit.


Since I wanted the compaign items ever since they first came out I actually went and bought something random that was available to be bought from that satan site and yet I have no codes or nothing in the orders. When do I get them?

That's a question for Shop to, not SE.

The person who posted above you in the other thread you got mad in wrote where to get the codes.

I am not happy with the inability to purchase the item i want (time card) but it is going to serve us all better to stay calm and actually try looking for solutions/asking questions to shopto.

I know where to get them but I have not gotten them. They should make it clear that you don't get a code when you pre-order since now this is a waste and many people have pre-ordered already and we can't even return them...

So been on site. EVERYTHING and I mean everything is either on back order or out of stock. I couldn't even order anything until I entered CC details and other information. The site is so dodgy it takes an age to load and I'm am still waiting for my confirmation email to register. In the meantime they give you some dodgy Temp account which you can order on but then you find that you cannot order anything. Surely to God Square you could have found a more. credible partner to do this through? I mean they announced it and the site was then down for ages for 'maintenance'. I really want that cloud mount but this is ridiculous. Utter disgrace

ShopTo provide the codes. Why would you not contact their support team in the first instance here? Why would SE be responsible in any way for the purchasing side of an external website?

Well if you used your head, the reason everything is out of stock is the simple fact EVERYONE tried to get timecards, and also the site clearly wasn't prepped for a large influx of people. such super slow loading and everything being out of stock.
Why physical not digital? Fraud Prevention, stops people from using stolen cards and such to get digital codes for stuff like G2A. (you can get digital stuff once you got 2 orders with them)
Is it a good move? prob 40/60, it does dis-sway wanna be scammers, but it also shoo's potential buyers.
Why wont they give you codes for pre-orders?
1. You didn't pay for the product yet.
2. To prevent another Amazon incident.
(the incident was were people pre-ordered shit to get the ffxiv promo codes, then canceled the pre-orders, thus getting the codes, for free.)
Could they of picked a better site/promo? Probably but we don't know what goes on behind closed doors.
But hey, at least they are working out stock issues so people can get timecards again.

I'm in the same boat - I know where to get the codes, they're simply not being displayed. After losing out on the codes for the magazine promotion that took place a while back - and receiving no response from the customer service team in that scenario I'm not confident that it'll be any different this time around.

That's was pretty much DDOS at work, by EVERYONE trying to get on the site at once.
You could use paypal instead of a CC, but you still need an address, no digital.
It's not so much dodgy, as a site that's used to low traffic, we all effectively broke the site.

Has your order actually been payed and confirmed? it can take up to 2hrs after you order to be confirmed.

I paid for the preorder of FFXII Steelbox edition via paypal there, money went through, status of preorder says "paid", but still no codes or anything under orders. A friend did this as well and he already got his codes. So, they do give you codes for pre-orders, but it's inconsistent. And it's kinda infuriating as their system obviously can't handle that many requests, yet they again decided to go with some small store instead of a large one that can handle it.

Well in that case contact their customer service, the pre-orders that don't give out codes nor charge you are back order ones like the timecards.

I never said you couldn't complain about the choice of partner. It's pretty unanimously agreed that the choice of partner was bad.

What I said is that you should stop complaining to SE regarding an order issue you have with ShopTo. That's for their customer service team to resolve. SE may be partially responsible for the failure of the promotion but they are certainly not responsible for any issues you have when dealing with ShopTo as a company.

This is like shopping on Amazon and then going to complain to GAME.

How many millions of users on Europe FFXIV? How many have been gagging for that mount since its launch? Perhaps if they had used THEIR heads they might have figured out that it was entirely possible that they were going to get inundated and prepped accordingly and maybe had the right stock and bandwidth in the first place. As I work in a marketing organisation I can tell you for a fact that promotions are a nightmare. Get them right and you see income shoot straight up. Get them wrong the way this organisation has and your reputation drops to the floor. By the way check Trustpilot - it wasn't exactly great in the first place. Its all about preparation and knowing your market. Something that the big boys usually get right. I'm not saying it is SE's responsibility to fix Shpto's clear failures. I am saying that someone in SE might have done some homework before choosing some third rate iffy supplier given the choice of A* suppliers that do exist. Jus' saying

SE, if there is an event next year, do us all a favor and put those items in the Mog Station. Last year it was handled bad, this year does not look so good aswell. Please give the same kindness and respect that you give to the NA and JP players also to the EU players.

This is absolutely infuriating. I will pretty much buy any one of there items to get the mount and I cant finish completing the account creation because they wont take my credit card since I am the USA I am guessing. Regional account another great fucking idea buy SE, good fucking job.

Been waiting for 8 hours on the code now... A friend got it fairly soon, we both ordered the same item and both payments went through. He's riding on his cloud, I still don't have anything from this.
He lives in UK, I live in Croatia. I guess UK gets priority?

I hate to agree with EU players but it seems like this was a failure all around. in NA, it was select items from Amazon. Why could that NOT apply globally? Square would have to deal with 1 company, subscribers could buy what they want, and it's a reputable site. Corbec: these are EUR codes so unless you have a EUR account, you cannot use these codes.

This is the EU campaign. You wouldn't be able to use the codes if you have a NA account. Has to be a EU account to use them. The NA campaign for the items was last year.

I'm really not quite sure why yet didn't just continue the partnership with Amazon. I mean I have nothing against ShopTo but so far it's practically impossible to take advantage of the event as everything is either out of stock or will be in stock soon. Alright yes any retailer can have stock issues, but when you know you have an event coming up you'd kinda prepare for it a bit more professionally you know. They could also have partnered with GAME which had a European presence (not just in UK) but Amazon would of made much more sense.

For now I'll just have to keep checking the stock every couple of days to see if anything becomes available....

It's not Japan. It's not NA. In Europe, there are many countries each with their own taxes, particularly import/export taxes. Working with a shop in NA that can deliver items to any place in the country with roughly the same cost is not the same as working with a shop that can deliver the items to a certain percent of the population at no cost, while require almost 40% more from the rest. And they seem to force me to use a higher-cost delivery method with tracking, when I don't even give a damn about that, since I only care whether they sent it and whether I have it, not where it is in-between.

If Square Enix cannot collaborate on this with a shop that does not force a physical delivery for very much digital goods, just cause they feel like it, then they should collaborate with one shop from each country, so that everyone have the same chances. Obviously, that's ridiculous from anyones point of view. So just collaborate with a partner that sells digital stuff digitally!


But hey, Germany got the promotion TWICE now, right?! For their Germany-only promotion and for this (as they are still Europe, and I didn't see an exclusion for Germany in the rules).

Last year's maid and butler outfits promo in France was twofold. First it was the bar thing, but then for a week it was Amazon. And people from all over Europe could order from there, the only problem was they had to have some help with translation of the site. But it was doable. Maybe something changed with Amazon between then and now. Who knows? Could be some issue with the company that runs FFXIV in China as well as it's their gear that is being promoted. Course as you said it could be SE just being dumb.

This is all it is, and likely will ever be. From the very first attempt at this promo thing, back when it was the maid gear (I think?), all that's been displayed is a gross level of incompetence in regard to handling the very same thing they do smoothly in other regions; sometimes even forgetting whole parts of Europe that were in one promo before but not the next; other times using absurd distribution - a magazine!

Not that they care. There's a 1000+ page thread providing details of everything that's wrong with their EU promo handling... yet here we are again.

Just use Amazon, SE, you really don't have to make this hard on yourself... or us.

Is there an actual source for this because there are many players who play on PS4, (or even play on both) so it's quite a claim to say that the majority of EU are on PC. You make it sound like PC users can't own a console and use the promotion to get games for it on the side.

Full choice of PS4 games. Don't have a PS4. Want to take subscribe time. Everyone in my situation did, so no more subcribe time. Now that's a pro campaign

Well I have been playing for two years and it feels like around 2 out of every 10 players is a console player. A lot of people who play this game are veterans from other mmorpgs, which is very often WoW and that doesn't have a console version.

Even Yoshi plays on pc anyway :P

Apparently if you order your card before the end of the campaign you'll still receive your code even if the campaign end. There should be a line with "FFXIV DLC" on your order, like an article.
