Perhaps Tanks should be given an incentive to queue for this roulette. Kind of bad when even a Healer has to wait 15+ minutes to get into 1 of them.

...
Just because the dps exp thread doesn't have your thread title doesn't mean its not discussing that very issue it's centered about.
Cmon man...
there's no incentive other than a few measly tomestones. EXP given in 50/60 roulette sucks badly and needs a serious increase. It's a shame too because there's a lot of great dungeons that are in that roulette.
It already counts for the second batch of tank mounts when the daily bonus is active but that's about it. There are better ways of getting credit for those achievements so it isn't a really good incentive, to me it's sort of just a "well I was going to do it anyway" bonus.
The daily EXP reward you get from them could probably use a boost so leveling tanks and players queue into it. Right now it's better to spam SB leveling dungeons over and over (this gives second batch of tank mounts credit, too. Not really efficient though).
Maybe throw a small amount of creation in there, max level players who have been playing since SB launch might not need verity anymore. Poetics aren't used much currently either.
EXP boost is a pretty easy fix though.
Yeah there's simply no reason for us to go in, tank or not. Poetics and Verity basically cap themselves seemingly instantly and the EXP may as well be non-existant. It's asking us to do a dungeon for basically nothing.
Verity is easily capped and I am more concerned about what to spend it on than how to get it
Creation is capped with 5 expert roulettes
Why else should I bother with tanking if I am ok with the dps queue?
So according to testimony Tanks don't feel it is worth it to queue for 50/60 Dungeons/Roulette as there is no real reward. We can also agree the XP gained is crap. So the real question is what kind of incentive can SE give us to make Tanks want to queue for it?
The only thing 50/60 roulette has for tanks is it awards a point towards the new mounts. If people aren't interested in the mounts or tanking, they won't do either.
No incentive. There is no reason to run them outside of leveling.
Pay me in minions and I'll tank the world for you.
I thought the tank mounts were given for completion full party duties? Aren't most 50/60 dungeons light party? I'm not super experienced. But, I personally feel like that should be tweaked, if I'm not misunderstanding.
Cracked Clusters that you get from running leveling roulette would work
Incentive to tank 50/60? Hmm, helping FC mates out seems to work a fair bit as motivation according to my chatbox...
Outside that? Dunno, anything you give as an incentive reward will eventually become useless for motivation. Perhaps the most long-term useful things though would be either very nice mound of Gil, or instead of XP, an XP token redeemable for XP on any unlocked class the character has.
"I need to level my ninja and get my roulettes done! Guess I queue as a tank!"
The mounts in question are the new armored and flying versions of the original 3 tanks mounts. They made the new ones far easier to earn so that just about anyone can get them verses only hardcore, raiding tanks. Now the new "this is too hard to earn" is the Tiger you get from hundreds of A and S rank hunts. :D
As for why 50/60 roulette is slow, personally I hate tanking the 50/60 dungeons as they are hyper speed-run fests, which are decidedly unfun for me to tank and tend to lead to frustrated party members trying to rush out.
To incentivize playing the roulettes more, I actually don't think EXP would help, and adding more cracked clusters would diminish their value (they are only on leveling for a reason.) But, that whole minion idea is hilarious since increasing minion drop rates and ensuring gear drops for vanity's sake would get a ton a players in there.
I don't tank, so I couldn't really say what would provide incentive for them to queue up for 50/60 dungeons. EXP only goes so far. You don't want to toss in rewards that are acquired elsewhere if it threatens to make it obsolete. Glamour incentive only lasts until it's obtained. Mats will attract crafters to queue, but not all of them will tank. Ventures, tomes, gil... all are things that most can take or leave.
Perhaps what's needed is something new? Perhaps random drops that can spawn S ranks or something? Maps that can be soloed so they don't have to level a gatherer or buy them from MB? Introduce new dyes and toss them in there? Just a few suggestions off of the top of my head.
IF
Those tanks already got all 3 tanks job at 70.
OR
they're already got enough poetics to gear up their other jobs.
Then
There is no reason for them to queue 50/60 Roulette at all.
Pretty much have all three tanks at 70 so no reason to do 50/60 roullette. If i want credit for mount its more efficient to spam susano xD
only time you may run it is level 60 tbh, if at 60 you can just queue for normal library, is more still, i think.
that is basically why no one does them, it is a maybe questionable filler to do at level 60 ONLY, once your 61 + its just leveling/ highest @level df
before 58, its deep
Just tossing it out there... but you can queue simply to help the community get into instances?
Does everything have to have an incentive?
I can agree with you that the queue time is a bit high for DPS and Healers since I am doing them for leveling my classes. As for rewards to encourage more people to queue for it, these are the ideas I have so far.
- award creation tomes for player classes at level cap
- boost the exp reward for everyone
- buff the adventurer in need to offer an addition item like Aetheryte Tickets
Why do tank players have an obligation to queue for roulette they do not care for? The happiness of other players is not part of my equation when I factor how I want to spend my play time.
I do my best when I am in the dungeon, but I am not about to jump into PF just because someone was shouting for a missing tank.
I really don't think a 15 min wait is worth complaining about. I guess as a DPS main I'm use to 30+ min waits sooooo....
We already have Cracked Clusters for Leveling Roulette AiN, so how about a source of crafting/gathering grade V or VI materia in the 50/60 roulette?
That would make me tank 50/60 more often.
I never said they did have an obligation to do so. I merely mentioned it as a selfless means to help out the community considering you can end a 20+ minute queue for 1-3 other players or replace a lost tank in an instant. I understand such a player would exist in the extreme minority. That's why I said I'm just tossing it out there. I wonder how many you got as you leveled any of your DPS and/or healer classes.
So based off of what you are saying here, if there were more interactions in roulettes, you might be more willing to queue up for them?
Whether this is true or not from your standpoint, it brings up an interesting point when I think about how many players wish there were more interactions between players in instances as they tend to be more fun and less robotic. Unfortunately, mentalities such as needing some kind of incentive to even queue up in the first place makes it a self-fulfilling prophecy. When you have no reason to be there other than a clear and a reward and the majority of the community also feels the same way, any kind of movement towards player interaction remains stagnant. I suppose it's also a big reason why a 12-15 minute run opposed to a 16-20 minute run is the difference between good and bad.
I suppose it doesn't matter though, because even though those players are part of the community as a whole, you still likely won't ever see them again, am I right? Again, I'm not saying tanks are obligated to this, but the ones that do are pretty freakin awesome.
50/60 Roulettes is Jump Potion No Man's Land, Fresh 50's Playground and has those picked up a 60's job again but are oblivious to the changes, so they fumble through it.
If I should endure this run as a tank, this Roulette better cough up significanly improved rewards for me.
It wasn't 15 min as a DPS, it was longer than 15 min as a Healer. Healers are pretty scarce in queues too so for a Healer to wait that long is an obvious sign that Tanks aren't queueing nearly enough for that dungeon/roulette. Furthermore it has been this way for 50/60 Roulette for quite awhile. That means unless Square Enix offers Tanks incentive to queue for it it will remain this way for that roulette and those dungeons, probably forever.
Cracked Crystals, right? Where do you guys even get those now?
You know another issue with 50/60? My level 70 healers can solo a level 50 dungeon. I'm aware other jobs can, too. If I need to get one done for Wondrous Tails, it's usually just as easy to solo it. That's another huge hit towards incentive to run it.
Why not just have the adventurer in need bonus include a couple of metallic dyes, makes it much easier than relying on retainers' RNG, paying out the ass on MB, or buying from the cash shop
Give me some pure white and jet black dyes as the AiN bonus and I will rerun this roulette multiple times per day as a tank for the rest of my FF career. Soot black and Snow White dyes just don't cut it most of the time.
A better solution is for the devs to make 50/60 appealing. Honestly, I dislike them more due to how many jobs suffer now when synced down in level. Astro, Dark Knight, Dragoon and Scholar are awful at 50, for instance. Now if I could farm craft/gather clusters, I wouldn't mind, but otherwise I don't want to touch 50/60 more than once a day.
