MCH feels like it's missing an oGCD

There's spots throughout MCH's sustained rotation that feel like you could be hitting another offensive oGCD or some sort of buff/debuff. There's a spot for it during wildfire, the downtime afterwards, and the later half of heat building before another wildfire. Something like replacing our useless knock back with a 15s or 20s 100-150 potency skill would fill that void. Or, perhaps drop Ricochet's recast to 30s since Gauss Round is a 200 potency attack on a 15s recast.

There's a bunch of other things that could be done to MCH for 4.1 (and, to be honest, I'm a little anxious to see how the rework fairs...), but this is something that just struck me as weird. The job is very active throughout the rest of the rotation except for a couple moments where you're just spinning on a Split Shot hoping for a proc without anything else to do because all of your oGCDs are on cooldown.

IDK, my WF has an oGCD after every GCD. Unless you're getting 6 GCD's inside WF, which is not the norm and should not be even further rewarded.

Unfortunately, if they were to add another oGCD, the rotation would just be to find space for it in your OH+WF like every other oGCD. It's just how the job is played, every minute you throw everything you have into your OH+WF, then for like 50 seconds, you refresh Hot Shot, get your GB back up, get your Turret back up, and manage your Heat with your ammo so that you can immediately go into your next OH+WF. Been kinda backing off MCH for that reason as I find it kinda dull, but I am hoping 4.1 changes fix that.

Yeah...no. I don't expect any changes to that. They've doubled down on that design when they trivialized heat management by halving the values, extended Hot Shot to make the downtime even less engaging and buffed Overheat.

*shrug* I've just given up on it.

While I also sometimes feel like it's missing an oGCD, it's probably more me missing the timing to line up my oGCDs nicely in my Wildfire window.

That being said, however, I would like a Tornado Kick-like action for Gauss Barrel as well, just so the heat mechanic works a little nicer in lower levels.

Cooldown is the missing oGCD. Need to un-nerf heat generation to it can be used more outside WF.

Seems to me a request for a buff for a job that's already creeping up to be in the upper half of highest DPS between the DPS classes. Not every GCD needs to be followed by an oGCD. But to be fair I find MCH a very fast paced job. I think it would only be fair if hey split an existing oGCD's damage into two abilities but why bloat buttons when SE was trying to "unbloat" them.

But I understand the "missing button" feeling as I get htat feeling with DRK too.

Agreed. I liked the amount of heat generation at launch. I actually wanted Hot Shot to generate even more heat to make screw ups less punishing. It’d be interesting if Cooldown and HS had equal heat numbers.

I think most MCHs you see are really good.

Also the only MCHs sticking with MCH are the really good ones.

Because "button bloat" was a silly excuse to gut abilities from jobs that didn't need such. It wouldn't be a big deal if it didn't render jobs like MCH and DRK duller than dirt, but MCH feels like you're just sleeping at the keyboard until your wildfire alarm goes off and you need to be semi-conscious again. BRD reaches similar levels of DPS while having infinitely more utility, yes, but more importantly is that BRD always has something to do that ensures that the player is engaged.

To be honest, I'm still trying to get the hang of my MCH class since start of SB changes. I admit, the wildfire is easier to do for most players who can't time all the button mash just right, but it is difficult for me to utilize the Overheat Mode during wildfire. I think i have great grasp at the job rotation on everything BUT wildfire. It feels like SE is making minor changes to encourage us to use Overheat Mode even more, but the only use for it is for Wildfire, otherwise it does more harm than good. I do think that while the mch is less clutter which makes Wildfire easier to manage for players,e specially those who don't have JUST the right net speed to get the most in the Wildfire window, I hate how BRD still outshines MCH. Hopefully we won't have to wait until the end of the expansion for it to be perfect like in HW. I liked having the heat build up before the heat nerf on some moves, but this is brutal especially for any duty run prior to Cooldown/Flamethrower access.

Also WHY take out our ONLY DoT?

After trying out the new BRD, I honestly appreciate the lack of OGCD abilities MCH has.

I hope they buff it in 4.1 to either have significantly higher personal DPS then BRD or comparable raid utility.
