Devs please? Link Market Board to Crafting Log?

I mean C'mon. It's annoying as fuck to pull up crafting log, memorize what you need to buy, close the log, open the market board, forget, buy something you don't need, open the crafting log, realize you bought something you don't need, bitch, open up a note pad, write down the ingredients you need, close log, open market board, buy ingredients you need, close market board, open crafting log, and craft.

Can you just make it so that if you are near a market board (Like within the same zone) it will link up to the crafting table, and if you right click, or press circle or whatever, among the options is 'Buy from market board.'? I mean...this can't be too much to ask, right?

And before all you Naysayers get in on this. I could pull up a website with the crafting ingredients you need on one of my four monitors on my computer. Hell. I could even pull it up on the second computer I have at a 90 degree angle from me, with two monitors. This isn't about laziness, it's about efficiency. It's annoying toggling out of the game to scroll the website down, or to even open up a website to begin with.

I also realize that this is never going to happen anyway, cause I don't even think the devs look at this shit...but at least it makes me feel better.

I like the idea, but...

So you know, you can open your crating log while you have the marketboard window open. Just press the keybind for the crafting log after you open the marketboard - press it twice if you had the crafting log open when you opened the marketboard, because the first press "closes" the crafting log that you had open (it's still open after you access the marketboard, it just becomes hidden) whereas the following press will reopen the crafting log without hiding it.

I like the idea, hope they do it. For the record, you can have the market board open at the same time as the crafting log. Thats what i do since they arent linked. But they could/should be.

Yea, but again, it's just not the same, is it? I mean sure, if I'd have been smart, and did this in the first place, I might not have carelessly bought stuff I didn't need, granted. But having two windows of anything open in FFXIV just feels clunky. I mean, yea, I'll get used to it, but it seems a no brainer to link the two together. You don't even have to give us full access of the market board through the crafting log..just that specific item. This way people won't abuse it by opening up crafting log to buy armor or something.

I don't understand your issue, I haven't seen any threads in particular with the same problem as you.

You can open up the crafting window whilst in the market board (default hotkey is N) and you say you have already remedied your own problem by using a website which lists all crafting materials on one of your four monitors. So is there even a problem or not?

Plus once you found the item you want to craft, you can right click and copy the item name then paste it into the market board to locate each item faster, so that's not an issue.

Or are you suggesting that you click on 1 item in the crafting menu, then the market board opens up all the items for sale for every item you need for the craft? because if that's what you're after that's never happening.

That's almost exactly what I'm saying. If I need Silver Ore. I select Silver Ore, right click/press circle, select 'buy from market board,' marketboard opens up only Silver Ore for sale and nothing else. Make Purchase, escape out of marketboard, profit. Simple.

I wouldn't say no to your idea, but if you're already right clicking silver ore, you just can copy item name, go to the market board and paste item in and voila, only shows silver ore lol. I get what you want and like I said, that would be a nice quality of life change, but you may be saving 2 seconds from what you can already do now lol.

this would make marketboards useless. they're there for a reason.

Use Market Board.
Open Crafting Log.
Select item you want to craft.
Click Market Board window.
Search for items listed in Crafting Log window for selected craft.
Profit?

Actually SE have the means to make a lot of QoL improvements but they chose not to.

If they could do something for QoL of the crafters, I would rather see them to implement ability to use crafting mats directly from retainers inventory. With this many materials you are not able to put them to 1-2 retainers and it really pisses me off when I have to open 3-4 retainers to get mats. Not to mention if I craft several different items and I forgot 1-2 mats. I don't understand why this is not implemented yet. :mad:
