Why do RDMs hate blizzard?

We have verfire, verthunder, veraero and verstone. But no verwater or verblizzard. Now verwater, fair enough, even white mages can't seem to find a use for water outside of fluid aura.

But blizzard? Pretty big part of black mage's kit. Why did we get moves like jolt and scatter when they could have been verblizzard and verfreeze?

Jolt and Scatter are unaspected which is why they raise Mana by equal amounts, Ice spells would be Black Mana.

dont think id want another tier proc based on rng making its way in the rotation, honestly

I did read it thrown around that verwater and verblizzard could work as AoE versions of veraero and verthunder, and it'd make RDM AoE SO much more interesting than the current scatter spam -> enchanted moulinet. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be much reason for their absence other than skill bloat and SE not really liking water spells for whatever...none of which are lore reasons lol

Verdure is water based just like healers.

Pretty sure it just comes down to the fact they wanted to keep the dual-element thing and try not to complicate it further by adding a fourth set of dual spells sets.

If you look at the animation for Fleche and Contre Sixte, they're technically ice moves. The descriptions say nothing about being aspected, but it's clear the rapiers form of ice before being launched.

That doesn't look like ice, it looks like solid crystallized aether. The same stuff that's all over Mor Dhona.

That was my thought on it. Seems more like super condensed Aether rather than an elemental sword.
