Actually, not sure if it is the level of the collectable or the node. Tested with 1076 perception and found that the proc rate was 100% at the various HW nodes.
Regardless, any idea of the thresholds? Not posted anywhere.

Actually, its not *that* important for rotations using Impulsive Appraisal. IA is 30% chance. IA2 is MINIMUM 30% chance. Its a straight up replacement, once you get IA2 there is never a situation where you'd want to use IA over it.

My post had nothing to do with one version being used over the other. I will edit the original post. The real question is what the perception thresholds are at each collectible level to raise that bonus percentage to proc DE. More testing is required, however it appears that surpassing a certain level brings the bonus percentage to impulsive appraisal 2.
For example, the bonus Proc rates at about 1000 Perception (level 70 ephemeral node) was minimal or completely absent. Once surpassing 1070, The same node Procs roughly twice as much. Leads me to believe that rather than a one to one relationship, the percentage bonuses are granted when surpassing specific perception thresholds (relative to level of collectible). -

Any chance you could also look into data for lvl 60 nodes, only because they are the best way to farm red scrips for books and gil and I am curious if the proc rate is 90% or higher. I have had a few fails so I am sure it is not 100%. -

So when I see I have a guaranteed HQ, I use SM-IA2 (DE/SM)-MA DE-MA, where the DE/SM means use DE is IA2 did not proc and use SM if it did. This gives 447 minimum collectability, but the guaranteed HQ means final collectability will always be over 450, and if the IA2 proc'd, you get an extra gathering attempt versus Deema Deema Smma.
I'm running 1150 Gather/ 1200 perception BTW. -

That "deema deema smma" thing might have been your standard 600 GP rotation, but its not the rotation I've seen advised for such collectibles. Rather, DE->IA, (DE/SM)->IA, (DE/SM)->MA rotation is what I've always seen as the standard.

All the red scrip nodes are 450 collectability now, like blue scrip nodes were, so other than when IA2 is getting high proc percentages, the old blue scrip rotation, DeMa DeMA SMMA, seems a better fit because it consumes fewer gathering attempts.Quote:

Its ALSO the current Yellow Scrip rotation, as far as I know. Important if gearing retainers on yellow scrips, or if getting 2k of them in case something else gets added to them.

Not sure we're going to bother leveling our alt-alts this time. The games been dumbed down so much, even leveling our alts seems tedious and a probable waste of time. And the SB story and characters aren't as good as HW's were, unfortunately.
