Moonfire Faire

Anyone else surprised we've not heard anything yet? Don't they usually post things a week before or so? Considering the date it started last year.

Last year's was announced 3 days before.

Every year for every event someone asks why we haven't heard anything.
Don't worry, we're not going to not be having a season event!

It'll either be this Tuesday (doubtful since it hasn't been announced yet) or next Tuesday, if they follow last year's pattern.

It can happen from early to mid August. Last year it happened the 5th, but the previous years were on August 11 (2015) and August 14 (2014). So it might still take a while for it to be announced.

Looks like the dates are here as shown in this twitter image. There is nothing on loadstone though quite yet but should be soon.

On one hand I do like having a common, dyeable shisui set to help save inventory space, but on the other hand it does feel a little lazy.

...and I was hoping for a new set of yukata T-T

Do we know which version of the Shisui set it is, out of curiousity? The male pants look pretty comprehensively terrible to me (and I think the tops are all the same?) but it would still be nice to know as I have not yet farmed every variant :)

I'll give them credit for going with what they gave us so far this year. We got a chocobo furniture I love, a cute kissy emote and a minion for Valentines, new glamour and a very popular emote for Hina Festival, a big sparkly mount and pretty wallpaper for Easter. I can deal with one phoned in event. We still have The Rising, Halloween, and Christmas.

Oh yass! Those are good variations for each piece. If they are separate sets and we can have both, this will be the first ever male set I farm. My retainer will look fantastic.

And of course the ugly stockings will be part of the pants again, making it impossible to combine any worthwhile shoes with it. Did anyone else notice we have like 2 short skirts that allow us to show our legs?

Tons of people asked for the dungeon versions to be dyeable, no one asked to give up an unique reward from moonfire 2017.

I didn't say people never asked for it. That still doesn't change the fact it's lazy using a levelling set for an event. They could have easily just made the levelling one dyeable.

They asked for the class locked sets to be dyeable and get free-to-glamour & dyeable gear from the event.

People here are just mad because they think they can demand something unique of a repetetive event. They want something new, they are greedy and not able to appreciate what they get.

No, I said people wanted the shisui set dyeable, as in the dungeon version, not giving up a new reward from moonfire 2017 for it, but you are claiming people actually asked for the event gear to be dyeable shisui, I never saw anyone ask for that.

You know the work on events is not just the gear. They aren't even giving us the exact shisui gear, but still keeping it to what was asked for a lot, and not reading it here doesn't mean that nobody wants it. People speak up more easily when it's a complaint than a thank you on here. Maybe the event will be pretty creative and fun? You can't say the whole thing sucked because the one reward you get looks kinds like existing armor that is super popular. Even if the event sucks, large game devs are humans who can make mistakes and have to hurriedly do things too, and as mentioned b someone before, we got plenty of great events / event rewards this year already.

We'll fight over anything, won't we? :s

I'm not over the moon about the gear but the Faire and the Rising always run into one another anyway, and my wife will be happy she doesn't have to level jobs she doesn't like for the cute Shisui-style bottoms. If we get more yukata I want them to be available year-round for everyone, not limited to a short term event that a lot of people will miss due to post-expansion burnout. And we certainly do need more yukata.

Kind of disappointed myself, the gear is way too slutty for me to ever want to use it. Ah well, theres always next year.

I must admit, I am a little disappointing. I was hoping for yukatas (even making the old one dyable.) or even the basic swimsuits we got years ago dyable. But it is good new for those that really wanted that set dyable.

Didn't even like that set to begin with. Not going to bother with the event at all I guess.

I'm not complaining but it is ONE of the sets (striking)...and it is not the full set...soo, kinda what people wanted (since it is dyeable) but not exactly. It really does feel like they had no idea what to do for this years faire so they quickly threw something together that they knew enough people would like so they wouldn't get too much flak for being lazy. It still boggles the mind that they add swimming/diving in this expansion and no new swimsuits?!?! What?!? I'm excited for the short skirt though - I like short skirts :D

Yeah that is literally the striking set made dyeable. Honestly these sets should have been made dyeable to begin with.

I wouldn't be so disappointed if this gear was older but we JUST got it at Stormblood launch like 2 months ago. This is disappointing.

I kind of wish the top had more of the caster look, with the strap that crosses just at the bottom of the throat and goes behind the neck(look me up on Lodestone and you will see it if you don't know what I mean).

While this one is still nice, they probably could have done something different. But, that's not something we get to decide. I'm just happy they have events to break up the monotony of just running roulettes, crafting/gathering hand ins, and whatever else people do for their daily stuff. Sure, it doesn't last long...but even a little pizzazz every now and then is good to be a breath of fresh air.

It is close to the striking set, but it is not exactly the striking set. Missing the choker on the top, and it has the scouting boots.

If anything directly speaking of this set I am disappointed 1.) that the legs are attached to the skirt. I mean it is suppose to be a swimsuit I guess? But who wears leggings in the water? 2.) The headpiece isn't with it. That for me was the BEST part of that set.

Next year maybe? I try to cut slack with expansions being close. But yeah. A lot of reskin usage this time around.

It's literally this without the choker, that is far from unique.
