Field Commander Set Impossible to Obtain

So there's a bit of a problem right now with pvp. I don't mean regarding gameplay, rules, job balances, or whatever. I'm referring to achievement glamour.

Now, I don't have any problem with locking aesthetics behind difficult achievements. It makes for a rewarding push to something nice. Gives me something to look forward to after hours grinding frontlines. There's just one problem: the glamour I would like to obtain, the Field Commander's set, is not actually possible to obtain in the current state of the game.

This is because, at least in Primal Data Center, NOBODY IS QUEUEING FOR SEAL ROCK.

I believed, reasonably I might add, that the vast majority of people who queue pvp queue for either The Feast, or for Frontline Roulette. GIven that pvp does not impose party comp restrictions, one would THINK that queueing for a specific frontline would create an instance for it for the people queueing the roulette.

Yet, this does not seem to be the case.

I have tested this thoroughly. Queueing for frontline roulette results in queue times ranging from 2 minutes to roughly 20 minutes, depending on the time of day. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. you get queued into Shatter.
If 1 person queues specifically for Seal Rock, then the people in roulette should get put into seal rock with them, correct?

Wrong, if you queue for Seal Rock, you won't get in. It seems as though the roulette heavily favours Shatter, meaning it is impossible without a premade group filling most if not all of the viable slots for the Seal Rock instance. This means that the main motivation for doing it, ie the Field Commander achievement reward, is not actually possible to obtain in the game's current form.

All I ask is that the achievement for this set of glamour be changed to incorporate ALL frontline instances, or at least more than JUST Seal Rock, because otherwise you have a piece of content with an impossible barrier in front of it, and that's never a good thing.
Alternatively, please make the outfit obtainable through other means. I mean hell, even Savage gear is obtainable without doing Savage. It just happens to be only dyeable through Savage.

I was unaware that they did the roulette like that. While that in and method itself is rather silly (a roulette should be a roulette, after all) it's good to know I'll have my chance, thank you.

Who knows when that'll happen though, they said it wasn't on their priority of things to do. I think Shatter keeps popping for three reasons: it has a mount, botters fill the queues making it faster, and people just don't know the other modes exist.

I'm pretty sure they want it for 4.1 and looks like something really easy to do, but who knows. I also would love them to look 8vs8 too and lock people on the role they que, it's not fun when everyone switch to DPS and the enemy destroy your team because of no use the fire power to focus the guy you just lured and stuned.

The reason for Shatter being so heavily played - and I've said this before - is because Shatter was, and still currently is the newest PvP mode. Before 4.0, any older modes were typically rendered obsolete, especially Secure and Slaughter, which were left at 50. Seize was the first lv 60, and still arguably the best Frontlines mode, but with all the new blood that came in around 3.5 and now in 4.0, Shatter pops frequently, and involves less direct combat between teams, thus its more favorable to newer or lesser skilled players. With little/no knowledge of older modes, and no active queue for it, these new players come to think that Shatter is all there is.

This doesn't explain the issue of the frontline roulette queueing shatter. If it is as you say, then that implies people are going directly into the pvp selection list, which shows right next to shatter, all the other modes. It's not as if this information is hidden.

Even if you are not a newbie who wants to avoid pvp situations like some here suggested, shatter is the best way currently if you are just after the mounts, so even clever people will just queue shatter if they wanna farm 3 mounts at once instead of only 2 with the old modes. Let's say they introduce a new pvp roulette with just 1 mode for a week, if they don't restrict the other content like shatter during a sealrock week, I doubt it will flourish. The majority still just selects shatter and doesn't care. WoW increased rewards for 1 battleground for a week if I remember correctly, that could work out maybe compared to a 1 time roulette bonus.

I have already done 2 threads about this and we're supposedly be getting a rotation system with 4.1 along with the new PvP mode if the unofficial translations of the most recent Live Letter are anything to go by.

You pretty much need 3 full pre-made parties queuing at the same time to even have a chance of getting a Seal Rock match going

Last night I tried to do Seal Rock for the fiel commander set. I believe I was 1.5hrs in queue then I gave up. I can't wait for this roulette. Since the Garo event, my interest on doing PvP has been considerably increased and I want to experience all these modes. I would also like if we could add a 24man Frontlines as an available option before queueing. It's more fun and it involves more strategy than the 72-man mess. Sometimes I used to get 24 man frontlines and I don't know why. Maybe less people were queueing up?

I agree with this issue and with the issue of borderland ruins never being played is an issue with pvp. We need more rewards for playing these to be constantly implemented into the game. Why is the item distribution in this game so limited anyway. Wouldn't hurt to be giving us a lot more.

I'd personally enjoy a tournament mode set up like tennis match where people register for the event it starts with the 72 man matches and as the teams win and lose the tournament moves to a different pvp mode until you've less players and move to the 24 man mode etc. until you reach the 4 vs 4 modes. However this'd require implementation on a system forcing players to play specifically to dungeon and raid party set ups as the 4 vs 4 modes require a healer and tank and 2 dps to participate in them. That kind of a rotation would be interesting if they could set it up occasionally.

2019 here, still trying to get it. Waiting 2 days to have a chance to queue, 40 min in queue, team full of bots. We lost.

The DC split for EU and NA certainly isn't helping getting pops for Frontline.

im jp data center it takes 30 min to an hour to pop ussually but since last week theres a community event to do pvp everyday at 9 o clock,
the result? 5 min wait everyday till the date change

EU has been doing this with Rival Wings but since the split happened we haven’t managed to get a pop.

When the World Visit System gets added, it might make it easier to organize for these things.
