Proposed fix for warrior

Lack of utility for warrior has had me thinking. My best thought so far has been getting rid of shake it off for a new skill
This new skill would effect warrior buffs only, I'm looking specifically at thrill of battle, beserk, holmgang, and vengeance. My idea is that when you use this skill, the next buff the warrior uses is instead detrimental to the warrior but gives the buff to all within 15 yalms at half potency
For examthrill of battle would reduce the warrior hp and Max hp by 20% but give the party a 10% max hp boost along with matching heal. Beserk would instead reduce warrior damage by 30% but give the party a 15% boost. Vengeace would increase damage taken to warrior by 30% but give the party a 15% boost to damage reduction. Holmgang would give the warrior the same effect, but last 10 seconds, if the warrior would have died during the effect, he is given a "down for the count" stun for 10 seconds or even just die but give the party invuln for 5 seconds. Thoughts?

I'm not sure I'd want to turn my buffs into detrimental effects, I'm kind of using them. And any tank that could give a flat damage boost is immediately going to become the must have for raids. It can't happen.

Shake It Off is pretty poor for group content, but it does have some uses when solo'ing. It's just that with the pacify effect removed, there's no blatantly obvious use for it, so people call it trash. Cripplingly situational, and very misleading, but it's not totally useless.

It's just the least useful for raid content ATM.

The idea is the war would have to choose.

Plus it's either warrior gets utility added or they need to do significantly more dps

I feel like the innate DPS isn't the problem, it's that it's so easy to screw them over, because they need 20 seconds of uninterrupted uptime, and Inner Release coming off cooldown tends to occur during times where mechanics are going to screw them over.

O2S is an excellent example of this: if you use your immediate IR combo, then it comes back up roughly at the time the boss uses Long Drop, which will absolutely wipe the group if you don't click it off.

Besides, the only utility they had for the game until SB was the Storm's Path debuff, but it got removed to try and balance tank needs (and was replaced by more DPS by increasing gauge built). No tank can get DPS utility, because it's way too high in demand. If one gets it, then they all have to get it, but then it balances out to zero difference, so it's pointless to add.

The dps loss of a war in beserk window would be over 1500. Adding 15% to the party for 20 sec would barely be a dps gain, I'd be one, but not that much

Incorrect. Up until SB, warrior using storms eye meant ninja didn't have to, a significant dps gain. The gain from my proposed buff would be situational, if the party didn't have the fill up time of the 20 seconds it wouldn't be a gain raidwide. During IR serk windows it's nothing for my dps to be near 7k 30% off of that is a significant amount to regain

Meh, just change the colour of the job icon to red and develop another tank....

The fix for war is berserk back to 50% plus pecify an shake it off as it is.
Like really shake it off do not do what it describe, but if it does remove pacify then is worth having the skill, no need to buff it or anything.

If they did that they would change the CD back to 90 seconds and the gain would be lost. If they upped it to 50% and kept the CD the same sure, it'd give war a little bit of an edge over the other two tanks dps wise but it still wouldn't be enough to justify bringing one imo

I think changing the ability "Shake it Off" is what WAR needs as a quick fix for the moment. I rarely find myself every really using it and it doesn't have much uses in higher end content. Maybe make it an ability that can be used with or on an ally would give WAR at least some utility. (Not sure what it would do. Ideas?)

So I was coming up with ideas for what to do with shake it off on another thread and here is what I came up with.


Shake It Off

Removes most all detrimental effects. (and actually make it usable on more types of debuffs) Can be executed while under the effects of action-inhibiting statuses

If an effect is removed gain 10% damage reduction while in defiance (duration 10 - 15 secs)

If an effect is removed gain 5% - 10% increased damage while in deliverance (duration 10 - 15 secs)

I was trying to play off the ability equilibrium so this way Shake It Off can also be used as a tank or dps CD on some fights while actually making it useful to get rid of more serious debuffs.

So here's what I'm thinking.
Pack Mentality - costs 50 beast gauge last 10 seconds.
Under the effect of pack Mentality certain warrior actions can be spread to other party members.
Vengeance - 10% reduced damage to party.
Thrill of battle - 10% increased max hp and healed for amount gained.
Equilibrium - 400 potency cure to all members within 10 yalms
Holmgang - bring target party member to you and their house cannot be reduced passed 1.

Shake it off - Removes most detrimental effects and reduces recast on Awareness, Anticipation, Convalesce.

If used on a target party member
Below 50% Inner Release is reset.
