I hope it's worth getting, it looks nice. Just hope it's stats aren't terrible like Black-Mage have str+ on it.
I'm not one for suggesting to copy 11, but in this case I think it would be nice to have that kind of difficulty to obatin these items.
Including the item drop to spawn the monster.
I guess a hard 4 man BCNM fight would also be exceptable, after vanquishing the monster you can go back and get the item from a quest NPC.
On the screenshot, they are to much "plastic".
I thought they looked OK... though I view the mnk gear with a bit of meh'ism.
SE
Please make this a extremely difficult quest where you need 8 people to get 10 items with a average drop rate in order to claim your AF armor. This will increase party play and players will use the search system to help each other get this great and unique armor.
Things like AF armor should not be a simple 4 man quest.
Thanks
I dont think it should need a party to get these unless its truely endgame gear. That was f11 down fall needing a party for everthing. They can make fun and hard Solo battles. Its hard enough to find a party as it is. Mab after the population grows after 2.0 we can go to more party style gameplay.
Heya!
I would like some kinds of quests involving your job in something really important and epical for a change from GLA to PLD. Just taking the example of FFIV, where Cecil fights with his shadow to get rid of his darkness. Something that Heavily changes your class, something that you can Feel.
Please Dev team, make it happen!

Unless SE decides to completely ignore the fact they make proper armor sets for jobs in XI as well, I'm pretty sure there's absolutely zero reason to assume there would be +STR on any of their AF.
Not really -- The problem is people are expecting UU gear to blow away materia this early in the game's life, if you know what a full 4-5 meld materia can do..you'll be negating the actual reason materia exists. 4-5 melds is near impossible, thus the materia in itself is already balanced around that fact but the game doesn't have enough raid content to balance it out.
Think about FFXI:
Zilart armor was pretty top gear (which included AF) for a very long time, especially considering the some of the best gear during Vanilla/early zilart days were crafted pieces -- CoP, ToAU, WoTG and Add-ons over the years introduced more gear that eventually balanced itself and actually killed off the non-consumables market because the drop gear was so much better than what you can craft except for a few pieces -- The same thing will happen to materia, but early on they made it VERY useful so down the line it'll be mostly balanced and not killed off.
People seem to forget that this game is being overhauled and a lot of things introduced are mostly foundation systems which they'll balance, not to mention Yoshida stating he's basically in favor of a "3 month system" other MMOs uses, i.e gear gets obsoleted very quickly, which is another reason Materia seems so overpowering currently, because they can't start throwing Relic weapons and ultimate armor at us 1 year into the game's life...what will they do later?
Hm? Pretty sure FFVIII, FFX/X-2, FFXII, FFXIII/XIII-2 and Tactics were real Final Fantasies.
Yeah, I see your point. It would've been more accurate to say that it is more reminiscent of the early Final Fantasy games.
It is nice to see them change to more stylized things. But it is a bit off to see such an abrupt art shift. I hope Akihiko Yoshida is still directing the art though for 2.0, I like the sort of Ivalice feel of the whole game.
I'd like to see some set bonuses with having complete sets.
I want obtaining this armor to be challenging in the sense that you had to get a group of people together to do the AF3 fights in FF11. No Garlaige Citadel/Eldieme Necropolis coffer key hunts please. >.>
Also, didn't think about set bonuses for job armor; that'd be pretty cool. The stats on job gear should blow away anything that can currently have materia attached to it until a level cap raise IMO. A set bonus would further solidify this.
I would like to see requirements to get the gear and skills for jobs be fun and engaging. If their definition of "hard" is to spend 200 hours trying to obtain a drop from anything no thanks. My idea of "hard" is something that actually involves skill to obtain not just an insane amount of time and patience. It would be nice if the difficulty ramped up as you go with requirements in terms of skill and players needed increasing. Your first few pieces have you soloing something that takes skill to defeat. The next few maybe you need another friend to help you. The final piece to complete the set might have you running through the new dungeons to kill a tough boss.
Please don't ask me to sit there and kill something that takes no thought 1000 times in the hopes of getting some drop. That is not fun.
Oh, you again. Whiteknighting as usual. Does your back hurt? Lest we forget things like Agility, Charisma, and other lovely stats on mage AF so quickly. Why must you continually make mistaken comments on these forums? SE is very likely to make a mistake again and give us irrelevant stats on our AF gear. That's what they do.

It took them what, four years to realize that putting useless stats on our gear like AGI for a mage was useless? And they released the game at its state back then? You don't even play the game anymore. I don't understand your constant bagging on ANYBODY who has a legitimate concern with this game. Yeah, I can't wait to get my BLM AF gloves with DEX+ on them! Going to be so exciting!
Please, leave the forums and go back to w/e you spend your RL hours on... Wait, nvm that's here. Just go do something else.
Difficulty wise I wouldn't want them to be too difficult since this stuff seems like it's supposed to be the "standard" of what we are supposed to use on Jobs. I'd be much happier with more involving story quests and a fun but manageable battle that scales based on how many members you have.
From the letter from the producer the Job Weapons sound like they are going to be what is tough to get.
