So we now have two Halicarnassus's, wasn't this an issue before? why is now different

So the new Omega Raid came out and we all know its a big reference to FFV, at least the Deltascape. But the boss of V3.0 is Halicarnassus, yet the boss of Haukke Manor is also Halicarnassus. Isn't it that last time something like this happened, they changes the names around? Why is this time different, or has it just not been caught yet? Also the Acherons, but meh, lol.

Since the boss of V3 is created by omega based on an old fairy tale, one may draw the conclusion the succubus in Haukke could have been the cause for the fairy tale to exist to begin with.

Or the devs forgot. Who knows.

What are their names in Japanese?

The issue with Archeron was a result of translation issues more than anything.

It's the same way in Japanese too, whereas previously it was an issue because the Japanese bosses explicitly had different names yet the English localisation encountered a clash.

Aside from it being perfectly possible for two people to simply share a name, the Deltascape Halicarnassus is a construct, created by Omega from a fairytale and therefore a separate entity from the Haukke Manor succubus. As for the succubus, she might be the origin of the tale, or it could be that she was inspired by it herself to take on the name and fashion herself after the fearsome goddess of legend.

I know two guys named Ben so why can't two ladies have the same name :p

I was wondering the same already - the point here isnt that two people/mobs cant have the same name for lore/logic reasons but rather that that was some sort of a technic-issue if I recall correctly?
So yeah, would be intresting if this means they've managed to sort out their code a bit somehow...

Didn't they change the Haukke Manor boss' name? The patch notes specifically mentioned that some enemy names were changed.

They previously had this issue due to the outer La Noscea S rank being called Mahisha (Which is now the name of a Lochs A rank) when it was called Chernobog in every other region.

Just went to Haukke hard to check and it's the same name. Pretty sure the spelling is the same too.

The issue was that Acheron's name wasn't the initial JP name (which was Titan, but with a different spelling than the primal Titan), so they named him Acheron and were done with it.... until the "real" Acheron came and it kinda crumbled apart. So they renamed it because it had the same model and same name and came in the same raid and that was confusing af.

V3.0 Halicarnassus and Haukke's Halicarnassus don't have the same appearance, don't come from the same dungeon, and don't even come from the same expansion. There is little confusion possible between them.

There is also the whole Gigantopithecus being turned into False Gigantopithecus thing.

actually, the proper plural wouldn't exist since it's the name of a city. For argument's sake, since the origin is Halikarnassos (forgive the lack of greek letters or accents), the plural would be Halikarnassoi.

Everyone knows North Kurrea is best Kurrea.

Also there's the Croque-mitaine, rank S hunt target, wich is the french version of the boogeyman. But there is also the boogyman in amdapor keep hard. So in the french version we've got two completly different monsters called Croque-mitaine.
Guess sometimes the localisation team just shudders and go "meh, whatever"

I do not think that the Lady of Haukke Manor is the origin of the fairy tale on Deltascape; as the whole point of Deltascape is that FF5 itself is the fairytale. ..Although in FF5 Halicarnassus is a dude.

You are correct that the proper pluralization of "-os" in Ancient Greek would be "-oi" and that would be pertinent if we were speaking of Halicarnassus the city-state and were using the more phonetically correct spelling that ends in "-os", however the subject was the fictional characters named Halicarnassus and in this instance it would be more correct to pluralize using standard English grammar rules due to the level of separation from the source. Halakarnassoi as plural is a sound and correct argument, just not in this specific case. In addition, the Latin and Greek specialcase pluralization, for example syllabi, is used for formal or scientific settings while the standard form of pluralization, syllabuses, is used in vernacular.
