Samurai rotation at 70 help please

Hello,

First I've been trying to dig some info out for optimal rotation for Samurai for EX modes I have no issues with Omega 1-4 but the EX mode of Susano :/ I've been testing my dps out on the EX dummy at Stone,Sky Sea and am getting it down to 10% before failing the timer.

Am I being critical of myself here or should I optimally be aiming at destroying the target completely for the EX dummy?

What is your ilevel

Your accessory are lacking it's not i320

But overall your gear seems fine to do susano extreme dummy

My ilvl currently is 310

So should I be trying to do lakshmi EX for the 320 Accessories first?

Kasha combo >> Hagakure
Gekko combo >> Kaiten >> banana >> miko >> ice >> Kasha >> gekko >> kaiten Midare >> guren

As for the follow up always go for 3 sen kaiten Midare and never ever use Hagakure for guren it's a dps lost and always keep the DoT up and spend you ki and don't let your guren unused for too long and your dps will be 4.4k at i314 fully meld

Imo, I think it should be possible to destroy the target completely (meaning you deal enough DPS for the raid) even with the minimum iLvL, although at such level one must be doing a heck lot of DPS burden, so it's... understandable at best. I'll just share to you questions I'd ask myself for times like these. Hopefully this helps!

• What's your rotation? How about a video of it?
• Have you tried a different opener? (Something like 1-sen opener or 2-sen Hagakure opener instead of forcing it to 3-sen)
• Do you use Hagakure often? (It should be the priority over using Midare whenever it's off the cooldown)
• How many Hissatsu: Shiten can you pull off?
• Do you keep Kaiten + Higanbana up?
• Do you always manage to use Kaiten in every Midare Setsugekka?
• Do you always keep every 2 buff and 1 debuff (Yukikaze) up?

Ok I always open up with Kasha opener for the speed buff then from there hakaze into yukikaze then kaiten + higanbana then from there I add onto my hakaze jinpu into gekko so I have both the damage and speed buff as well as the slash down and dot on target I do try to use guren as often as it is up as well as 3 zen kaiten midare setsugekka . I however am trying to figure out where in my rotation to fit Shiten in as I usually dont use Shiten alot :/ Is it because of not using Shiten that often really causing such a large decrease in DPS that has me worried if so :/

I am rather interested to know how you use your Hagakure as spamming Hagakure needlessly is actually a dps lost

Janhyua thats what I thought as well yet I must be doing something wrong with my rotation for not being able to destroy the EX dummy quick enough :/

The 25 ki offgcd can be used anytime any where lol just push that button as you do your gcd

I'm doing my best to make use of Hagakure in order to pull off as many Hissatsu: Shiten as possible while maintaining a high Kenki Gauge for Hissatsu: Guren. And no, it's not a spammable skill; it has a 40s cooldown. It also has the additional benefit of more control over Sen management.

Hmm. It probably is. I have a hunch that you do manage your Kenki (else it'll stay at 100) for Shiten. There are probably more questions in my mind right now, but here's what I'd try, after reading your response:

I would try prioritizing Hagakure over using Midare Setsugekka, pull off as many Shiten as possible, while keeping the Kenki gauge of at least 35? Don't forget the positional Kenki bonus for Gekko and Kasha, and don't forget to pull off Guren as well.

You want to be using Shinten fairly often, as a matter of fact, when you're around 40 kenki or over. The only exception to the above is if you're saving up for a Guren. In addition, the earliest you want to apply Yukikaze is at the 8th GCD, as part of your first Meikyo.

My best pro tip is you put your kaiten, Midare, shinten these 3 button are your core and will be using often I put

Midare on Q and shintens on E and kaiten at 1 on my hot bar so I can hit them easily

Oh? So... can you elaborate about this? How do you do your opener? I'm curious, since the earliest time I use Meikyo Shisui is after the 8th GCD, right after doing a 3-Sen Hagakure.

Yup! This is in order to perform as many Hissatsu: Shiten as possible. For whenever you want to use Hagakure, your Kenki gauge should be at least less than 40.

Kasha combo, Haga, Gekko combo, Kaiten+Banana, Meikyo+Yuki, Guren+Kasha, Gekko, Kaiten+Midare. The oGCD's precede the GCD's in that, but the idea is to get Higanbana up ASAP with the Jinpu buff, something you'd have to delay if you go yuki first because Yuki has no effect on Banana's DoT, while Jinpu does.

I have no conclusive proof yet, since I'm only a new level 70 SAM myself. If your rotation has been working well, don't take my suggestion to heart and stick with your preferred method. :)

Basically, Yuki only buffs the initial hit on Banana and has no effect on the DoT, because DoTs are never affected by resistance down debuffs, only stuff like TA and anything that boosts overall damage like Balance, due to snapshotting on application. Of course, it's not the only opener you can use, but it's my preferred one for most content. Also, I hate auto correct...

It does... only the initial damage is increased. This is why Higanbana was so misleading. A myth busted! ^^

Theoretically hagakure is always a dps increase.
If you look at the potency per kenki,
Shinten = 300/25 = 12pot/kenki.
Midare+Kaiten = 1080/80 = 13.5 kenki.
But shinten is an oGCD, so it's a bit more complex than that.

For argument's sake, let's replace the slot that you use for midare with hakaze, which is the best case scenario for using midare.
Then, you're actually looking more at
Midare + kaiten = (1080-150) / 80 = 11.625 pot/kenki.
This is outside of the fact that hakaze (and other gcds) also generate kenki. In this example, you're actually losing 5 kenki from hakaze, not to mention you're 1 gcd slower to the next combo everytime you use midare.

Of course this is only valid if can make use of all those kenkis generated from hagakure and are not above 40 kenki.

I can hit over in SSS 4.6k with using Hagakure almost off CD. It's always a dps gain over Midare overall. You have to do a lot of testing around this or just look at it from theorycrafting. Technically you may get lucky and get a higher number with more Midare because a direct ht crit with Midare is huge. Getting one is like getting 4 direct hit crits off Shinten in a row.

It's great for burst and if you get lucky it spikes your dps, but converting to Kenki is more consistent in getting higher damage and works better with actual mechanics.

Kasha opener hagakure jinpu guren higanbana.
And always use hagakure when ready on 3 sens its the prioritization to spam Shinten, the attack that gives u more dps after higanbana. When u dont habe hagakure save use ur 3 sens into kaiten midare
