They not doing anything about parsers, unless someone gets reported, don't think they'll even do anything about botters :(
I'd love it too... But since Feast season 1, nothing has been done, and every cheater/afkers haven't been punished. And i'ts not like you have time to fill a report during a match. We really need a quick report for bots, for both pve and pvp.
People really want their easy EXP, and that's great, but it's never been this bad. People try and argue "Oh, they'll just AFK for the tomestones", but tomestones have always been a reward for PvP. It's never been this bad. Not even remotely close.

Those are about a minute apart, I stopped taking screenshots after that. There was about six of us actively participating, the rest AFK/botted on the node for the entire match. I used to love Frontlines, but I think I'm done. This EXP reward might have gotten new players in, but it absolutely killed the fun. It'd be one thing if this only happened once every now and again, but I've had this for the past four matches today alone, and pretty consistently since the expansion launched.
Yeah, something definitely needs to be done. They're fairly easy to spot, too, since usually they stick close to the spawn point and/or follow a specific player and follow them for the entire match whilst running around in circles.
Exp may be part of this, ease of getting into PvP at level 30 is the other portion. This is why I push for the idea of a Ranked version of Frontlines, kicking rights, and ease of reporting.
Sadly, these accounts will get banned, that's not the problem, the problem is what they do to the gameplay in the meantime.
Perhaps they can make a participation rating system that gates rewards on actually providing actions towards the match. (Combat, Objectives, etc.) If so, they should apply it universally to all rewards. I'm much, much more in defense of individual reward scaling based off of performance than I am punishing an entire team for the actions of a few.
I think we should be able to tag any accounts and if they get enough tags they will get temp banned from pvp . One tag per instance, so you couldnt have a pre-made group of 7 or something harassing one person. I know it would probably be abused by ragers when they lose, so some people MAY get temp banned unfairly.
Also people who say getting rid of exp would kill the queue, the queues once they removed GC restrictions were only like 10 mins (although to be fair I took a couple months break before SB so the wait may have gone up?). I almost would rather wait 10 mins for a group whos at least semi-trying then 5 to be stuck with botters/afks, they'd probably have to give us more stuff to buy with wolfmarks though as a compromise (aetheryte tickets would be nice)
IMO SE must NOT implement a ranked frontlines.You absolutely cannot balance jobs according to Frontlines, because of several reasons:
1st you would need teams to have egual repartition of roles amongst them, which would involve Matchmaking. and matchmaking has been the thing that killed frontlines before garo event. Also, that would seperate FL in 2 modes, the one we know, and another one that would be dead on arrival for previously said reasons.
2nd: with the current meta Healers are weak in frontlines. Now that the skills have been pruned, an healer can barely escape once they are pulled inside by a DRK inside of a group, even more if it's a coordinated team. They have all they tools removed (AoE heals, most cc, skill defense against CC, etc...), while CC from DRK/PLD are incredibly power full. before SB, cc duration was 1 min after the 3rd time (and has diminishing return) which already meant nothing in frontlines, now it's 10/15 secs, which is ridiculous. While this time, even an AFK DPS that only 1 1 1 can deal efficient damage just like that, now imagine with a well coordinated team. Also, it became incredibly hard for healers to be able to support several ppl being burst at the same time, for said reasons above. It could have been done pre SB, since healers had lot of tools and the difference between a good and a bad healer was noticeable (same for all jobs actually)
3rd: balance jobs according to frontlines, and ranked feast is unbalanced. Current meta has made thing pretty bad right now. Before, jobs weren't as unbalanced as people like to say it, in either FL or feast. But now that skills have been reduced to nothing, you must either balance them for FL or feast.
However, you got a point, SE needs to reward effort of people individually and not as a group. this is the only way to prevent afkers/botters. But that will probably take times to add such system, because they'll need to get the right calculations about healing/dmg/kills/assists/etc... Some jobs are better to rise numbers than other (ex: SCH, shields don't count as healing done). I just really hope they take time to make such system. But until now, it has mostly been a system that punish a player for his team bad play: in feast, you hava much more to loose if you queue as diamond than if you queue as gold in terms of points for the same match, and everyone knows how gold is easy to grind since s3. I just wish they stop with that.
They should have made it based on individual performance. Not only am I sick of AFKers, but I'm also sick of people who run around in circles at the base the entire game CLAIMING they are defending the base.
Last night I had a PLD tell me that because he was a PLD that was all he was good for.
Sadly, that won't really fix anything. People will still find a way to cheese it. Overhealing counts on the scoreboard in PvP, so healers can just spam heals on themselves until they're set. Having a damage threshold makes things unfair for tanks, who would have to work harder to get the same reward as DPS. Having a damage taken threshold is easily abused by people just running into packs of people and getting killed.
It's a difficult thing to balance. I understand people wanting PvP to have an incentive, and I agree, but I never have thought that connecting PvE and PvP is a good idea. People should want to PvP because it's PvP, not because it's easy leveling or tomestones. I feel like bringing glamour items tied to ranks would be incentive enough to encourage participation. They could even just take the savage raid route, and make normal PvP gear undyable, and ranked PvP gear dyable. There's options, but I feel that so long as the system stays the way it is, people will abuse it. As long as that's the case, my interest is shot, because I just find myself getting annoyed instead of actually enjoying the content.
Ya someone handed out bot programs in mass today. I just had a match where I took 0 damage. I was at every big ice. I was in the middle of the map when not hitting an ice. I have yet to see an enemy PLD use HG at all today. I've seen countless players get to an ice, attack it, then stop and wait to die.
So ya, something needs to be done NOW.
This video was just posted on FFXIV's Reddit, So this is what Frontline has become
Full of bots sitting around spawn drinking tea
https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...early_morning/
I literally just played two games in a row that had bots filling most of the match. First was with Adders and second was with Flames, and I believe the Adders in that second match were also bots. This is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS that this is happening.
I also noticed the botting is EXPONENTIALLY worse in the morning hours (PST/EST).
I will admit I am mostly doing frontlines for the exp, but I am also trying to get a bunch of achievements now - killing two birds with one stone. I'm really close to giving up on this and it is really making me disgusted with the state of the game. I was having fun in frontlines, before the botting got rampant.
I don't think any sort of merit based scaling system will do much because I've noticed these bots have some sort of auto target and do basic attack script going on when their leader gets near something they can attack.
Also kicking DOES NOTHING. Most of the time if there are one or two bots, they are on a different team in my alliance and I can't initiate anything and most people don't bother kicking. I had one in my team once and told everyone they were a bot, and it was obvious on the map and in person, they had some sort of movement script going. I initiated kick and it was rejected lmfaaaooooo. Useless feature.
FIX THIS NOW.
What circle of Hell are you people from cause I never see this. I see 1-2 afkers max a match.
Consider yourself fortune then. It happens a LOT more than people may think.
With the evidence provided, I'm thinking this is less of a 'player bot' issue than it is an issue of RMT.
I've been tracking PvP Matches and I'm not seeing bots so much on Aether. I see a lot of people dcing or intentionally afking, but outright botting, no.
Seems more likely that the RMT players caught wind of PvP being an easy way to exp and are shoving their character-batches through PvP to level them.
It would at least explain the disparity of players experiences.
It's actually regular players that are botting. Most of vid/pic posted 1st show people with legit names, not auto generated/"face rolled on keyboard" names. 2nd, if they were RMT bots, you'd see lot of sprouts amongst them and that's rarely the case. Worst is you can even see mentor crown amongst them... 2 friends of mine were queueing 1 night and ended in a party full of bots. One of them made a vid (which has been removed, perhaps for editing because you could see bots name), and in this vid you could see 2 crowns amongst them.
So no, it's not RMT activity, it's just people exploiting the system and know that they won't get punished for that. Every time something can be exploited, you'll get more and more people that will exploit it.
[EDIT] Erratum: Sry, I misunderstood what you implied here, I thought you were talking about our usual "BLM/ARC" bots. yes indeed, there are good chances that this kind of behavior
his also supported by RMT scripters.
[EDIT 2] I found this thread on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...g_isnt_always/ abouth the situation on botting in the game.
[EDIT 3] Another reason why some people don't see bot. It's actually harder to spot them especially on 72 man. Some scripts are working better than other it seems. I just had a match with another WHM, at 1st I saw him performing actions, but after taking a look closely, all I could see was eratic moves, random use of skills, mount/dismount without any reasons, etc... That way it can be hard to spot some just because of all the actions happening around, It may have been easier for me as a healer cause I notice when my co healers are slacking.

Man, these people sure love PvP
I think we hit a critical mass of issues in pvp that we may need to make some compromise. Given that:
- FL is hair rippingly full of bots;
- Pre mades are still a thing (workarounds);
- Faction pop and win rate does not feel balanced at all;
- Winners often determined by having healer count.
I would propose to simply distribute players randomly across factions regardless of party, faction or freelancer status for all 72man modes in order to:
- screw with bot groups;
- hopefully distribute some healers to everyone;
- hopefully balance win rates.
Not a perfect solution at all. I'll admit not liking my own proposal much either seeing the flaws in it, but i'm willing to compromise to fuck with bots.
healer count, the thing is we can change job in duty, talking about frontlines (and also 8v8) it's really up to the player going as healer if he wants to or not
If by faction you mean GC, the Frontline Freelancer system makes GCs entirely unimportant.
It's purely there to allow matches to happen even if there's 40 Maelstrom, 20 Flames, and 12 Adders queueing. Rather than having to sit and wait for 24 of each (like we used to) as long as 72 players (and if not 72, 24 at least) queue, you'll get a match.
I know what freelance is. That is completely beside the point i made. Im not talking about queue time.
Then can you please elaborate on "Faction pop(ulation, I assume) and win rate?"
Because again, what team you're on does not matter nearly as much as how well the people on it in that match play.
Im putting forward and idea (flawed i know) in order to screw with bots. My experience so far:
- I'm placed in IM/Adder 95% of the time;
- My team always get crushed by Mael due to lack of actual players (bots) in my team and abscence of healers;
- IM/Adder teams always have many bots. Sometime a whole party;
Which in turn leads me to believe / speculate that:
- Some botter are going in with multiple bots at a time in a same team;
- Bots tend to fill up teams with lower PVP player density, thus ensuring their demise in a systematic way;
- Shuffling everyone systematically may help fuck with bots and at least distribute the strength and weakneses more equally.
Put a "Right click -> Report probable botter" like you can do with RMT
Check their result too and that they don't react to chat and when a GM confirm that that player is botting,
make him unable to join PvP again, ban him, set his current class level to 1, do something.
Been playing a lot more shatter again lately and I've seen a lot afking at base and just running around blind.
SE should just permaban these players. They are sitting at like 500-600 matches per week and have almost all jobs at 70 (missing like one job). Just look at the player with 626 matches, that's like 156,5 hours out of 168 possible hours per week assuming each game is like 15 min (not even including queue times).
I feel like these players don't hang on lodestone much, cute.
Especially since it's pretty damn impossible to claim they aren't botting in that case, unless somehow they're the first in an eventual line of cyborgs that will take over humanity and punish us for our sins. It's so blatant you'd think they'd jump on the chance to ban them.
Just ban every player with more than 250 battle per week.
I have send à report and im reporting every botter eavry match
And just ban ppl with more than 6 lvl70 job aside from crafting
