Normal Raid loot system: too much RNG

Four drops for 8 people. Usually 2 of the 4 are junk that nobody wants, sometimes 3.
Law of averages says we'd need 4 runs to get one token. Sometimes it takes a lot more than that, depending on how many lalas were sacrificed to RNGesus unlucky you are with rolls. I've had weeks where it took well over 20 runs to get a drop, while others take only one or two.

It's not that difficult to implement a token system with fixed rewards. You need to do X number of runs to obtain Y tokens, that can be used to purchase the piece of gear you want.

Predictable. Reliable. Players like it that way.
There is too much variation in the amount of effort required.

You mean you don't like potentially having to run each floor 20 times a week to get what you need?

The RNG is the price of being able to run the content as many times per week as you'd like. Savage has token guarantees because it can only be run (for max rewards) once per week.


PS. Let's please never predicate any game argument on "the law of averages". If the probability is not p≤0% or p≥100%, there are no guarantees.

The probability is much higher if you need on everything available.

Stopped caring about weekly lockout loot ever since LotA came out for a few weeks.
in 2 weeks, there will be better tome gear available, which will just replace this stuff if youre not raiding hardcore. And even if you are raiding youll still replace/supplement some of this stuff for better tome gear. Let the 4 weeks for pants and body piece sink in, when it takes 2 weeks to get a tome one at higher i level.

The token system is awful. They should just switch to actual gear drops like they do with the other 24 main raids.

It can be like the old days! Run Dynamis for 3.5 hours and get 8 BST, 5 DRG, and 1 COR piece ;)

The new system is just like the old system, except that now you dont get the loot directly, but can actually exchange it for the loot you specifically need.
The old system was direct loot drops, which was way worse in terms of randomness.

It took me Months to see a tank item drop in old coil, while bards and heals were fully equipped allready...

This is fine the way it is. Though I vaguely remember early days of Alex where only 2 items dropped. Now THAT was horrible!

Make a PF, so at worst you have 8 runs which is about 60 to 90 minutes in total, then everybody has its desired item.
