So We Got Bahamut...yay?

So we finally got the ability to summon Bahamut, SE must be so proud and be patting themselves on their backs right?

Well, the skill itself doesn't sucks, but it's kinda underwhelming. Instead of giving us some of the things we asked for, like new trance ideas, more pet abilities, or the big one in making each pet viable in any situation, they just gave us a band-aid, its a pretty band-aid, but it still feels like a band-aid.

I'm curious what other people think? I wont go as far as to say the skill is bad or that it's completely worthless, (*cough*Scholar changes*cough*) but I just felt underwhelmed.

I think they did a great job and to be honest other sums are being picky. Be happy and have fun. New experience enjoy it and perhaps just keep adding suggestions.

My major gripe with bahamut and all the pets in general is their very slow response time. Animation delay and general lag between button press and action made makes the class feel underwhelming since you're always waiting for the animation to go off. 4.0 skills highlight these poor response times which detract from the class experience. Another problem is the new gauge not being as dependable as the old buff timers and combining that with bahamut 'peace-out' animation you may use deathflare/ahkmorn at 1 second on the timer and find that the animation gets cut and you miss it or the animation goes off and no damage is done. these things need to be fixed:(

All I can "technically" complain about is how the difference between Miasma III and Bio III vs Miasma and Bio II doesn't exactly make up for the lack of Bio in terms of potency (only matching 170), but that's what Ruination does, and more (since you not only make up the remaining potency difference for Bio, but considering that each cast is 2.3-2.5, that's an additional 120 potency within a mere 15s. Ruination could possibly be buffed, but not too high.

Though, at best, I would have been happy if Miasma II was reworked as the Enhanced Corruption 1 Miasma, so a full 30s Miasma to make it feel like an upgrade. I mean, the useless Thunder II became one of the most awesome AoE tools for Black Mage but... meh.

Honestly.......just delete Summoner.

We will never be happy.

We will never be loved.

We will never appear in any cinematic.

SE will never balance us.

We will always be the ever evolving class that never finds it's identity.

People will always complain about us.

Just end it.

jeep this is awful indeed... always fearing that this will happen every time I summon him in a chaotic moment where you have to adjust your rota cause of movement or similar issues... the last 2-3 secs of bahamuts trance is a real pain – the poor response to their skills effects me on sch even more... seeing physic spam won't be enough going for eos heal buff push... no response... no cds up... "waaaahhhh" huge fuck up : /

You summoners were asking for big summons and they gave you it. Deal with it.

If something, Bahamut is the step on the right direction. The egi should have been exactly what bahamut is atm. It doesn't take damage, attacks when and what you attack, is responsive when you ask it to akh morn...etc

funny statement – actually most of the summoners I know love Bahamut in mechanic and size – most complains come from other grp cls saying they "can't do mechanics" cause Bahamut is in "their way" - don't blame us for their complains x'D

yeah hopefully other will follow in this kind of mechanic – would love to see Alexander with Divine Judgment or Odin with Zantetsuken – that would be great :3

IMO the skill is a little bit broken.

It's cool, but i find a lot of problem with this spell.

Summoner is already the least played class next to machinist. SE implemented bahamut in the laziest way possible. Just a basic model with no textures. It looks more like an oversized pokemon. Anyway, I'm dealing with the problem by switching to red mage.

At this point they may as well just delete the summoner class, there are simply too many jobs for SE to handle properly imo.

It's not only Summoners doing the complaining, though. It's others, and i'm almost certain these same people were more than likely the same ones complaining about how Summoner had no real summons. I agree, many summoner players don't seem to know what they want, though. The class more than likely became more bursty and less dot oriented because several patches ago the complaint was ''we want to be black mages'' now it's ''I miss my dots, where are the dots, too much ruin spam''.

Yeah & I'm still waiting for new Egi' or Egi Glamours happen, which I doubt will ever happen.

After reading SMN post for 4+ years, 4.0 SMN is what we asked for.

Seems like most jobs are kinda pissed with the lazy approach the Devs took with jobs. Most jobs (pld) could have the gauge removed and no one would care. It just feels lazy. Not all summoner wanted larger pets by the way, we did want our pets to matter though. I don't get it, are smns a dot or pet class?
