DEV REQUEST - Red Mage Rapier

At the risk of hearing people rage and argue at me.....


Would it be possible to get a special weapon from an npc or quest that is a Rapier without a magicked crystal medium? In blade, looking like the default Mythrite Rapier or something simple like that. In short, a ordinary Rapier


Before someone says ne because lore and all I remind you of the invisible shield we can still throw and bash with. So SE seems willing to make things like this disregarding the logic and/or lore of it.


At all times the Medium never touches our hand and only touches the hilt of our rapiers to cast.... but again, Shield Bash. So animations would not really be effected.


The combat style is beautiful, and the Battle Stance and Victory Pose are amazing. But I would like to go without a floating rock if possible.

It'd be cool to just have a toggle for it like how Machinists can toggle the gauss barrel appearance for themselves.

I do not mind the floating focus. What really irritates me is the saber guards on "foils", as well as the grip position on most of the weapons. You grip the weapon way too close to the pommel and it looks like you are going into an epeè match with an opponent that has a 2 foot reach on you.

Hey, I'd take a toggle. That would be just fine. As a side note to that I wish the hiding effect on it and Gauss were universally seen by all, but again I would take it.

Machinist has been asking for this for years.

As a Machinist player, I've wanted that for a while now.

I think it'd look really really odd with no crystal for a lot of the animations, but I wouldn't care if they added this. So, I'll give it a like.

Yes!! This bothers me so much.
Looks like the sword is just gonna flip out of my character's hands with the grip being so far back.

I just can't use the swords that have this problem and it's unfortunate because a lot of swords have this problem :<

I would rather have them add the option to have no weapon displayed, just they did back in the day with mnk. I understand some people might like that rapier looking thing, and while I don't mind rapier's, sadly ours lack a huge chunk of creativity and look more like a stick, not what I have in mind when I think about rapiers. Therefore the option of us having nothing in our hand, would be great, and before people start with the argument of lore or unrealistic, well not sure if these people do follow the lore or some of the cutscene's, we constantly passing along invisible items anyways lol

personally, I wouldn't want to hide it, rather its skin should change with your weapon. or hell, make it an offhand item.

That thing ruins my John Wayne glamour.

I don't mind the floating rock, i just don't like the animation where your character is constantly holding it up when you have your weapon drawn. I would like it better if it was just floating around your character and only goes towards your character's hand when they are getting ready to cast spells. It doesn't look good and it isn't great for balance either.
