So there was this 1h "boot" around 1pm gmt (europe) of servers today so ppl that used other programs to stay in and "other tactics" and really werent playing, were booted out of server to give place to other players.
My experience, the other week and until yesterday when i logged in around 18h:30m london time, ragnarok server, i had always a queue around 1300+ .. which would result in a wait of 1h30m .... give it or take it
Today i logged in at the same time as always and i had a queue of 300 ... !!!!
Got in after 10-15m ...
Dont know if it is coincidence or not.. but from cold factual facts... Good on you SE, it has worked at LEAST FOR ME!. thank you

It works because it's a good idea. The only people I've seen who don't like this are the people who are abusing it because instead of getting right on when they get home/wake up, they have to wait in a small queue now.
They would rather a thousand other people wait in an hour or two queue than to wait in a 10 minute queue themselves.
I also had no queue when I logged in yesterday, when it's been consistently around 800-900 or higher for me when I log onto Omega. -

I think players in small servers have seen a slightly bigger queue than they'd normally expect, whereas struggling servers (Omega, Balmung) have had their queue times significantly reduced.
It doesn't look like anyone is waiting more than 30 minutes to queue after the boot, and an hour at most at peak times. That's awesome.
(Mateus had a queue of 26 when I logged in around 8 EST yesterday. Its queue is typically "1.") -

I can tell you something from Cerberus, congested World.
EA till yesterday queues from 1500 to 3k while prime time.
Since yesterday...22...so not even a real queue anymore.

Record on repeat, it is also being used on worlds that don't need it in the least. I'm happy it worked for you, but for me it's only a 15 minute period I don't get to play, and a 1hr 15m period that I can't Q for anything (as a DD.)

Our server is not listed as one of the "full to capacity please gtfo" servers. Yet at prime time every evening 18.30-20.00 the queue has been around 1500-2000 people and has taken an hour and a half at a minimum to tick down. Logging in right now and its gone from 1700 to 600 in less than 5 minutes. Its working for us though I do see the point that as this queue issue has only been listed as being on 10 worlds you would think only those ten worlds would need the measure.

I see the need of this and I see that it's apparently working. Really glad you guys finally get to log on in a reasonable time.
But please don't use the "it's just 10 minutes" argument. Dps have 30+ minutes queue time, dungeons take around the same. For a Dps it's not 10 minutes, it's over an hour we can't really do much that requires us to queue, such as dungeons, trials, roulette,... For people that only have few hours they have time for playing I can see why they wouldn't like this.
It would honestly be enough to just reset the servers with the 1000+ players in queue. -

I'm glad that it's working for the people it's intended to work for, but as I stated in another thread, I am on another server specifically to avoid the problems caused by high populations. It sucks that I now can't do my EX roulette when I would normally do them (and therefore can't do it at all some days) because of problems created by servers I was specifically trying to avoid. If you guys get to complain about queue times, I think those of us who rolled on servers specifically to avoid this sort of stuff can complain.

I am sorry .. it isnt fair if they get a system that helps very populated servers but "hinders" less populated servers. If this is the case then I would say that it isnt the best solution and they need to find a "better" one. I do understand it most probably is very difficult for them to find the best solution and is frustating them. In a way it is a proof of their success, it shows a LOT of players wants to play Stormblood. But they need to make it work better then. Apologies on my behalf to the lesser populated servers.
