I thought people only purchased things from the MogStation to support the devs and make FFXIV a better game for everyone.
Seriously though, buying something because it might become something you want in the future is a bit ... silly. Just wait until it is what you want. Where is the incentive to put work into making it fly if people keep buying it when it doesn't?
If you wanted to buy a flying Sleipnir, you should have waited till a flying Sleipnir existed. You knew it wasn't yet what you wanted and bought it anyway. You're not even sure if it was actually said that it would fly, your first post is checking that that's actually the case.
I just don't understand the thought process here.
He's said on numerous occasions that he wanted to make it in to a flying mount. It's a bit odd that they haven't done it already, especially considering that it would make perfect sense based on Norse mythology.
Well, the good news is that it probably will end up flying at some point. The bad news is that it's probably somewhere below egi-glamours, a bunny costume for men and the butt slider meme on the to-do list.
When it can fly I might end up buying it. :p
Well it was also said that the old Tank mounts would be able to fly at some point but instead they put in some reskins with Armor wich can fly. (Only obtainable by tanking 300 dungeons at lvl 61 or above). The old ones will stay Ground mounts. What i have learned: Dont take anything SE says to seriously when it comes to Mounts or shopitems.
That's your own fault for coming to an incorrect conclusion. Yoshi never said it would fly on SB launch. He said they plan for it to fly during SB, but not when. Also every other mount on Mogstation states they can fly, while Odin does not.
For the millionth time we've heard this on XIV forums this week: Do your research before you transfer to Omega....ugh, I mean, do your research before you confirm ANYTHING. Ever.
I wish Sleipnir get "magic" as flying. No need wings
For this mount, according to the mythology, Sleipnir is supposed to be able to walk on earth, as well on the sea or in the sky. So, there's something missing (but to be fair, Sleipnir is also supposed to have eight paws :p ).
Yeah but armored bear mount, ARMOURED BEAR mount. Not gonna lie, I am half tempted to move warrior up on my to level list for the mount.
Back on topic, I do hope Sleipnir starts flying soon. I bought it because it meshed well with the armor I use, which due to me loving and using the High Allagan Tank Chest piece (not the dyable replica, mostly because there wasn't one when I went and got my chest piece) is predominantly red and black and other dark colors. Actually rather fitting that I look edgy as a dark knight.
I'm sure once everything settles down from the launch of SB, they'll focus on the things they've mentioned that they want to put into effect. Such as flying tank mounts, and Sleipnir. Be patient. There has been a few threads on this that you could have easily found before buying it, and it'll probably say it's a flying mount when it actually becomes a flying mount in the description. But who knows!
I'm still upset that he can't fly... But I still do love my Sleipnir mount.
I was gifted Sleipnir, but I want him to fly so bad. I want his animation for him to riding on a black cloud like death or something.
I recall him talking about a flying Sleipnir (and primal ponies) early on in Heavensward. I think I'm more frustrated at the speed at which the turtle mount was given flight, and almost as a joke. Especially when you consider and compare the bang for the buck in resources spent on that endeavor. A lot of those horses would share the same animation and only require a particle effect swap.
I was actually surprised that it didn't fly at the release of the expansion. Yoshi-P said in the E3 live letter that it would fly in Stormblood. I guess he meant in the 4.X series.
When turtles and wolves are flying, it's about time a God's horse flies too.
I am still glad I purchased it when it was on sale. Hopefully it will be able to fly soon, they could have just forgot about it.
Yoshi-P said once, Sleipnir will fly, so I guess that the Devs will realize it soon.
In the Lore, Sleipnir is an eight-legged Horse, which can run at the Ground, the Air and in the Water.
I hope it will get in the flying/diving Animation the eight legs.
No.

The text in red is the main line in question. It refers to kirin as a barbarian horse, then asking 'can it fly?' in a joking manner. For some reason, people disconnected the context. This is the only mention of horse/steed I can find. Other interviews mention Ahriman, Kirin, Bomb Palanquin, and Logistics System, but not once did they mention multiple horseS.
Unless you have other interviews that are from the source; I'd be willing to look at those. (I'm also looking for one that mentions the tank mounts flying.)
I bought it before flying was introduce because I wanted a mount that wasn't a chocobo. Now I have the flying Ice Wolf. Really I don't mind if it did fly cause I have the mount randomizer on one of my bars. It would be interesting to see it fly for sure!
