I havent seen the maintance notice, but it shows its undergoing maint and boots me out.....QAQ

SE announced at 12pm PST (for Aether at least) that they were kicking everyone out for 10 minutes to get rid of the AFK players bypassing the auto-kick timer currently in place on congested worlds. Not sure if Primal announced a similar time, but for Aether, that time was 15 minutes ago.

Same here, I am assuming its the nice daily logout they announced somewhere last night, without having actually announced it like they should. Or somebody forgot to mention that there will be maintenance today, time is a bit odd so, or well we might get another ddos excuse. We will have to wait!

SE is doing a rolling mass boot once day too clear up Afker's. It will be about 10 minutes before you can log back in. You will get a one hour warning though after this prior to the boot..

If you go outside and yell about moogles for 10 minutes the game will come back.

You may have missed it. About an hour ago I got a message saying that the daily reboot would take place at 12 PM PST and asked everyone to log out before that time.

Yes of course I missed it because I was at work lol. Just logged in and got booted, checked the forums, announcement was made last night at 1am, but didn't mention when it's going to happen, besides the little disclaimer that says, you get told an hour prior to this happening in game lol. Still they could have done a better job on that, I don't mind 10 minutes, but the way it's once again handled is pretty much amusing to me.

Because if they tell you when they're going to do it this would be pointless. AFK people can just log back in after that time.

well i think they should show this notice when u log on, RIP those dps who r waiting 30 mins for daily lol

I fail to see why they can't do this exclusively on the relevant server(s).

They deliberately didn't announce the time because they didn't want people to game it.

Edit: How can people afk for 8-10 hours at work log back in if they're not home?

AFK people will log back in after that time regardless when it's happening. I understand you would love to give me some kind of back hand every time I post somewhere, but you need to try a bit harder, it isn't working.

This is actually the first post I've replied to you. If I replied to you in the past, I don't remember.
I just don't like 'smart' people making negative remarks of stuff that's beyond their understanding. Like you said, you are at work, why are you complaining about this anyways?

Yeah, this I definitely agree with. If the hour notice has been given and someone logs in, have them say "Your server will be restarted in x minutes" when you login. That way they don't get blindsided if they login between the one hour announcement and the server going down.

A login message warning you would be nice ....

There was a maintenance notice an hour before and then another one 30 minutes later. *shrug*

But, on Aether they did have notices? I saw two saying all players would logged out at 12PM PST.

We got several notices. One 1 hour before, then again 30 minutes later, then 15 minutes later, then when they were about to take it down. How many do you need?

I think what he means is that he logged in after the 1 hour and 30 minute mark, and didn't see an announcement. I'm not sure if they give one upon login because I was already in-game when both were announced, but that's what he's getting at, I think.

Thank you, that's exactly what I'm getting it. Using her example, what if you successfully login after the 15 minute mark has passed, then you don't get one. Getting one upon login once that hour window has started I think should be what occurs.

Because some 'clever' people have decided to hide in their housing or apartments while exploiting...

Thinking that people won't see them to catch them doing it.



Those are instanced areas, and those instances are created on a different server to the world server, and are shared across all worlds on the datacenter.

To boot those guys off they likely have to just do the whole thing.
Also, with the amount of people doing such, it has an effect on all instanced content across the datacenter...

Ever see a message about being unable to enter a house or apartment?
