Cleared it on my second try. Not trying to rub it in, I really did. My advice? Don't even go with a group where "everyone know what you're doing please" because those (in my experience) always fail.
It isn't a difficult fight, make a group that's (really) about learning. If people are honest about not knowing and wanting to learn, things tend to go that much smoothly. Every time, if I go into a learning party it may take two or three or four tries, but they eventually pull through. All the people being dishonest about knowing what they are doing generally fuck things up for everyone else, because of course if they aren't open to learning they won't be contributing.
Those were my two cents.
Uhh, was about an hour for the first clear which lead into 7 clears almost back to back with a couple wipes, then did the last 3 the next day rather easily.
There seems to be a coniagious disease on this boss named "healer DPS" which ultimately lead to an unavoidable wipe
This would be my advice as well. I made a party finder group "Susano ex BLIND RUN, learning fight together from beginning", so no one knew anything about the fight beforehand. We had 5 people from my FC and 3 completely random people. We made good progress and to my surprise no one left, we entered the instance 4 times total I think (because time ran out, had to repair etc.) and eventually beat it.
So my experience is going in without knowing anything with full party of people who also didn't know anything, and beating the fight in about 3 hours total. :)
Whaaaat? Both us healers were DPSing throughout learning and on our victory run. Why would you have an issue with that? With item level 300 and random people I felt the DPS requirements were pretty tough (we met enrage twice before beating it), especially if people are dying.
Yup, the only parts requiring healing are the AoEs and those are easily covered... Even tank busters don't really hurt at all.
You really should stop with that argument... Not the first time I've seen you coming with it.
I beat Susano Ex after my second try (after one wipe on our very first try), my co-healer and I were DPS'ing and we've never had any issue.
The disease isn't healer DPS, but people not being able to stay focused more than one minute. Nothing about DPS'ing or not.
Enrage after enrage after enrage. I've gotten to 1% a couple of times. I think the fight is a bit too demanding on dps for the current gear level because a couple of deaths is enough to fail it. Finding non farm parties where people don't die is nearly impossible.
If by "healer DPS" you mean DPS's not pulling their weight and the healers and tanks aren't outputting enough DPS to make up for the deficit thus causing enrage, then I could see that happening. If you are saying that healers doing DPS are causing wipes then I just have to say either the tanks aren't mitigating properly, people are screwing up mechanics and are creating more damage than the healers can handle, or just bad players in general and nothing to do with the play style of healers doing DPS when healing is not needed at the moment.
As for my personal progress, I cleared it on my first learning party and got my Susano's Greatsword after a couple more runs as a drop.
You should not need certain dps or any crazy crap like that it's easily done at the minimum required Ilvl I say that because I saw 310 yesterday and was like wtf lol....healers can dps since the healing is super easy in there....the only issue you would have is the party not paying attention to the lightning that is the only problem I see even in farm parties shit hits the fan quick when someone messes up the lighting mechanic
I cleared both primals with my static on our first session in there, so, pretty good?
45 clears. I just pug it now, and 64 left to go for 99 totems. Now drops for classes I actually play on the other hand are another story entirely. Most of the wipes I've seen are general derp with lightning. It happens once in a while when I begin to auto pilot in the primal.
Went through about 40 different PF "clear" groups before I managed to get my 10 totems for the weapon. I'm not touching that fight agaon until the rest of my FC gets up to par. Lakshmi ex was a much more relaxing trial imo. There are way too many groups in PF that fail nearly ever mechanic repeatedly. It was such a headache.
Took about 5 tried then cleared it 17 times strait with my guild.
Not a hard fight at all, dps check is very forgiving compared to primals of other expansions.
Tried pugging it a few times and you can see the issues though. Tanks with no clue what they are doing, positioning problems like crazy and dps dealing around half the dmg they should at their Ilvl. People need to do the target dummys and learn their rotations before going into it would solve half the problem. Issue is a playerbase skill problem not a fight problem, people are going into the fights not even knowing how to play their jobs right.
Got everything I need from him, except the mount
Many say this isn't a hard fight, and while it's not overly difficult, it's not easy either. Once you get a group that can do it, though, the clears fly by.
edit: The most helpful thing I've found is some sort of audio reminder when lightning marker pops on someone, either in voice chat, or with a sound effect. Once you have lightning managed, that's 80% of the fight. The other 20% is figuring out how your group wants to handle bad cloud placements.
I find those new extreme primals similar to the 2.0 Hard mode Primals in terms of difficulty.
Lmfao my group cleared Susano EX on the first try. It upsettingly easy.
Also I solo healed Lakshmi EX. Actually my group farmed it with me solo healing. It is even easier than Susano EX.
I was hoping the devs upped EX primal's difficulty, but it's the same as HW.
Got to 44% on the 3rd pull, been too preoccupied getting my last bird to try again.
To contribute to a mention of healer dps on page 1.
I don't care either way so long as the healer manages their mana well. Otherwise why should I try to control how they play?
Anywho I'm looking forward to a minstrel ballad of the 4.0 final boss. (Is there one yet?)
enrage, after enrage, after enrage.......I blew 4 hours attempting to clear yesterday.
Went in two days ago to learn the fight blind, and the mechanics were pretty easy to figure out. We hit enrage a few times and realized two of our DPS were severely under performing. I was running with two friends, one DRK and one SAM, with myself on BRD.
Then yesterday we jumped in party finder again, and after missing mechanics a few times and wiping at 1% once, we got him down.
Took about 4 pulls, I died a lot (twice to make sure others didn't get hit by something), tank hiccups on the first pull, a 90K on the second, 4% on the third, and cleared the 4th.
I'm guessing Susano Savage in 4.1 perhaps?
Wow, your group cleared an easy Ex Primal on the first try, what an achievement. The OP is talking about PF experience and not how well-practised FC groups or statics are faring. Then again, you started your post with "lmfao", so why am I even bothering replying? :^)
B2T: As others have said, don't join groups like "BRING GOOD DPS! KNOW STRAT! MISTAKES = KICK!", because those are typically created by underperforming and raging players who want to get carried through content. Either look for a training party (or create one yourself) or a chill farm party that still accepts new faces - I made one myself yesterday, had 5 people without a clear who have been trying for quite a while, and with some explanations we cleared it on the 4th pull and continued to farm a few tokens. At the end of the day the fight isn't that hard and easily manageable with a PuG, you just have to keep trying and cull the bad/potentially toxic ones.
Tbh, not saying that you're wrong but if a group needs healer dps to not hit enrage in content like this, they don't deserve a clear and are probably screwing up so often that the healing requirements aren't "non-existent" anymore.
Tbh I've drawn the line at clear groups only xD all the so called "Farm" groups in PF are trash, sorry but there's not other word to describe it. Every single one, multiple wipes with no clears. I've made 4 clear groups since when helping different friends out, every single one has been a 1 shot for the kill and then atleast 5-10 consistent clears before people get tierd or bored.
These fights are beyond a joke and how people are still messing up the basic mechs when their PF descriptions are for farm and flame "bads", I just can even....
At this point I'm genuinely considering only ever farming content with my static from now on.
I used pf to clear it and was lucky for both primals as after one or two wipes we cleared.
But now it seems like the less than amazing have gotten to the ex primals and every time I go into a party for susano we wipe. I got my clear and tokens for a weapon but I'm gonna wait it out until the bads get tired of wiping so i can farm bc its been a little ridiculous lately
I done raid finder for practice. duty completion Then went through PF for the clear, we done 2 wipes and then a clear. Its the cloud, dice and the lightning which usually wipes the group. I know I struggled on the cloud, but once you get it down its not a problem.
Please don't. I know it sucks sometimes but there are plenty of decent players out there in small FCs and/or FCs who are extremely casual who need PuGs organized by good players. I've had some really horrendous PuGs since I started playing in 2.0, with people raging at others even when constantly misplaying themselves, but as bad as some of those experiences were, the good or great ones made up for it - not to mention that you can meet a lot of friendly, chill and just overall pleasant people when you put forth the effort.
But yeah, the farm groups asking for near-perfect DPS or even logs are usually among the worst. I joined one for Lakshmi two days ago and the person who started it (another SAM btw) was underperforming really hard, constantly dropping buffs and messing up their "rotation", ignoring Vrill on bleed mechanics and Stortam and kept raging at the healers. No surprise that the group disbanded after 3-4 wipes.

Just clear mine too. Join pf... we wipe 4 time until left 5 mins and we clear it. Yes 4 try. 2 rf and 2 on pf. I basically save mekiyo, full Kenki gauge, Sen gauge, guren and Potion on add phrase dps check. I also save it during player turn into rock phrase. Then require a lot of moving, jump across, popping third eye -> merciful eye and second wind. I also midare a lot... nice seeing those crit number.
Dw I only meant serious farming for the mount ^^ I'll still be joining random clear groups to help out and the occasional few runs for a couple of tokens. But super serious "I'm B D deeps don't be a carry" mount farm groups are the worst, they fail at every mech and don't seem to know thier job at all, so I'm thinking I'll just avoid that when it comes to mounts :3 that and ik my static won't bail the second one of them gets the mount <.<
Complete side note how's the mount drop rate for everyone? I've seen plenty around the hubs but yet to see it drop in around 30 clears, static friends seen it once in 42! I'm hoping we are just unlucky otherwise group of 8 we are looking at close to 300 clears q.q
Yeah, PuG mount farms are a disaster 90% of the time. But good to hear/read that you're sticking around for normal clears ;D
Regarding the drop rate: 30+ Susano clears, not a single mount. 20ish for Lakshmi and two mounts, snagged one for myself *g* - btw the first time ever I was lucky with a mount roll while said mount/primal was current content.
I mean... they're technically easy, but given how many people mess it up I don't even know anymore. I'm glad I'm done with getting my weapons/accessories, because the number of people who don't notice their lightning marker in susano, or don't know when to use vril in lakshmi.......... it's depressing. Especially as a healer because you end up having to carry everyone else and make up for their mistakes (see: half the party always getting bleeding in lakshmi)
Have seen one mount drop (from susano) so far, but that's all. I'd like to farm for a mount, but maybe only if I can get an FC party together or something...
