if past events are any indication it'll be available on the mog station in 1 year
ugh, what a long wait lol.
thanks.
yeah like any event it'll be not till next year's gold saucer event
Might even take longer, we've seen that with the hairstyle from the lightning event, but you know when the demand is high enough and we're seeing more and more topics about it, I wouldn't even go as far as saying it could be added even under that year time period. Just gotta hope for the best.
I made sure to tell my BF to put his sub on to get that hair cause it suited his character. Did you not keep updated on the Lodestone OP? Or you found out about it when you came back for Stormblood early access? The Make it Rain Campaign gave me about 500k+ MGP with just mini games and GATEs. Perhaps missing out on the rewards from the campaign will be a good lesson to keep up-to-date on the Lodestone?
It's not fair for people who can't be bothered to keep up to date with the game you mean? Why should anyone cater to lazy-ness? Like I said, it should be like real life where if you miss out, you miss out; but Square is nice. I said that directly in my previous post you quoted.
Wow Chiramu, take it down a notch.
If people wanna buy it in a year, let them.
... the 'event' literally took two minutes and consisted of talking to three NPCs with no meaningful dialogue or anything. It was basically, "we know you only care about the MGP perk. So... here it is!" Fairness is plain silly. You didn't work for this; you didn't do anything meaningful. You talked to someone for two seconds and got access to prizes. Who cares if someone else wants to purchase it off the Mogstation a year later?
Keep up with the game get it free, don't keep up, pay a price. That seems like a fair compromise to me.
Heavily exclusive content in mmo's has never done much good, the few that want the ego of having an item (they don't typically use) others don't doesn't compare to the many that would feel left out but are willing to pay or do something. It's ok when its a few things, but the longer an mmo goes and the more exclusive locked content it gets the more it bothers the late joiners who see many things they cant have without a good reason.
Not to mention its always a shame to have nice looking content held back and forgotten in the name of "exclusivity".
Being occupied with other things in my life instead of refreshing XIV news and updates every day means I'm lazy? lol ok.
Not sure why you're being so hostile? but the posters above me have explained the situation beautifully, no need for me to get involved at this point.
Thanks for your input anyway.
It wouldn't surprise me if they added the hairstyle to the MGP Reward Vendors item list, or made the hair available on the Mog Station soon, since the hairstyle fits the expansions theme.
Just keep an eye out ^^
I don't think you know everyone's situation. What if someone has surgery and cannot get on the computer, or life happens..etc? I agree with Rekujin, its just a video game and a hair style. As someone who has been around since 1.0 days...I have every item they ever released, but at the same time...(sans legacy items) I think its fine for people to re-obtain items they missed.
I really want this hair too... I just was late with MGP farming .... I finally got 5000 MGP but event has ended :(((( Please bring this hair to gold saucer or mog station :(((
Yes... I noticed that item too late ... :|
I understand the exclusive model all to well; but waiting a year is beyond bad marketing; the want is there for the product with the new expac from the visual styling. So many people want to keep up with the trend. At this point SE is losing money by not putting it on the mogstation. The fact they don't over an exclusive item is a good thing. Within a year the cultural look will not be the fad, and SE will move yet again in another style to keep up with the times other games, etc. I do respect the exclusiveness of the item though for those that worked for it.
I wasn't able to participate in the event because I had to take care of a sick family-member and couldn't afford a sub (because of said family member) at that time. But yeah, blame me for rather helping someone out with nearly everything than playing a video game and talking to a few NPC's 'cause that's so much more work, right? Some people, I swear...
I'd love to get the hair style since I really like it and I'm hoping it will be in the mog store someday. Just be happy that you were able to pay for your sub and get the hairstyle for free instead of pointing fingers and calling those lazy who just weren't able to get it in the first place. After all it's not your money we're going to spend for it.
I say no to Mogstation. They have these limited time event for a reason. To be exclusives.
I know my gf really wanted the 2015 Halloween set and they did release them to my surprise (so obviously i bought her the glam and mount) but I think in a sense its slap in the face for us who are dedicated and make sure our subs are up to date to take part in these events.
While rest of you, who are lazy or whatever can just buy these items for €5? Why even bother do the event to begin with in that case
Nobody blames anyone here. This is in the end just a fricking game. If we going by that logic and you value a virtual item so highly, maybe should've asked a friend to pay your sub and have them do it for you?
Because Lightning was a crossover event and came only into the mogshop because there was a thread every months asking for the return of the Lightning event. And after they brought the event again, the threads still popped up again 1 month after it.
The Gold Saucer event is an every year recurring event, which mean you have to wait 1 year and it will only come maximal 1 or 2 weeks sooner to the shop.
Of course it's just a game and because of that I rather spent my time on another person than an ingame item. Nowhere I said that I "value a virtual item so highly", I just would be happy if I was able to get it someday - even with money. So... I don't really get what you want from me lol.
And as for the "slap in the face"-part, I'm pretty sure you're not only keeping your sub up to date to get a few event items, but to play the game on a (nearly) daily basis. As someone said before, getting the item within the event isn't a lot of work. It's just a way to get it earlier than those who weren't able to participate in said events. Again: Be happy you got the item right on time for free with a little story tied around, instead of having to pay and get it a year after the event had happened.
People asked me for ages how I got my broom before they released it on the Mogstation. Then they did and others were able to get it. Doesn't change the fact I did the quest on all my chars at that time to get it. I don't really see making anything available later on as any sort of slap in my face for being lucky to be subbed when it was going on.
My thoughts on this type of topic: Who cares if they throw it onto Mogstation. It's a glamour/mount/hairstyle change, and not game breaking. Does it make it any less special to me? Nope, not in the slightest. I got it for paying just my sub and doing the event, if someone else wants it after it's on Mogstation, then whatever. I don't have to pay that additional amount because they want it, it's up to them to decide to pay that amount themselves.
So I just came back from a long long break and I see this haircut on someone else and it is not shown in my haircuts at all. Anyways, I have researched about the hairstyle and it looks like I’m in the bunch that missed out on this. Does anybody have any word on when this haircut will be available either on the Mog Station or in any other future events?
Uh, yea sure you don't get a lot of 2nd chances for certain things but saying you never get second chances is complete crap, plenty of people get cured or go into remission for cancer, people get struck by lightning and live, etc etc. I would say these fall under a second chance in life.
This is the very definition of elitism, this isn't like playing the game in 1.0 and getting a non-obtainable mount now or an item/something for beta testing the game back in the days, it's just a hairstyle who cares?
Nice necro lol
I'd agree with you but only for current threads, if you want to see the problem of necroing threads look at Shouko's post, people read the thread without looking at dates and start arguing about a point of view the other person might no longer have after a year, or the other person might no longer be in the forums and Shouko's post ends up just him talking to a wall.
With a new thread you ensure all participants are at least active and they are currently holding whatever point of view they explained, that's if you're actually interested in having a discussion in the forums, if you only want to give your 2 cents then I could see why other participants being absent wouldn't bother you.
It will be available sometime between this maintenance's end, and July-August 2018 realistically.
It would be very awesome if they made it available again.
First I didn't necro the thread if that's what you're implying, I added my 2 cents without caring how old the post was, but I wasn't the person who necro'd it which technically not even a necro, last post was in October. People get too uptight about necroing on threads on the net. If they so desired they could lock the thread like most other sites but they don't which means anyone can post and a lot of people do at any time.
Why would making a new thread instead of a necro ensure discussion? If a thread is necro'd and people get to discussing it, then it's not longer dead but revived. Same concept applies in game, you don't just make a new character because it was KO'd otherwise we would never get anywhere.
Obviously you cared enough to post in a necro'd thread, so you must have some passing interest in the subject otherwise you would have skipped it.
i unlocked it at the event but never used it. who the hell wants a chocobobutt hairstyle? ^^
Rather people necro threads than constantly making new posts that have the exact same discussions as the previous
