[SPOILERS] Job specific dialogue in the MSQ?

I did In Crimson It Began on AST and at the end Krile said this to me:

Besides it being great that cutscenes are acknowledging that yes, I can heal, from what I can tell this is triggered by what job you are on when you do the quest not what jobs you have leveled like in Heavensward. I asked friend that also has AST leveled but was on SMN for that fight and they said that Krile said something different. Can anyone else confirm? Has anyone else been getting job specific dialogue in the MSQ that matches (or does not) match the job you are on for that quest?

I rewatched the cutscene in the inn as a nin and yes she tells you to hold her down instead of heal her. I originally did the quest as a whm

Oh thank god for this at last. I was so sick of watching people die, or having them rushed off to the healers while I'm standing right there gawping with my staff (apparently) up my backside.

I just finished that quest (which I loved) and Krile said something a little different, along the lines of "Don't just stand there gawping, get down here and help" I'm a PLD

That was a great start and I'm really excited for this story now :D

absolutely loved that line!! I was roling as AST and saw that line! Happy to see I'm being recognized as a Healer :) was wondering if DPS and Tanks had same dialogue or not! Glad to hear its different. I was getting tired of Krile and Y'Shtola saying "You'll need a real healer" While im standing right there!

And now I'm kicking myself for not paying attention to the quest title, 'cause I've been doing the MSQ as Monk, but would have liked to switch back to WHM for this scene...

There's another quest somewhere in there in which Krile says something to the effect of "You'll need a healer, so I'm coming with you." I was on Paladin and I remember thinking what if I was on scholar or something? Rude. That might change if you're on a healer for that quest.

Sadly I don't recall MNKs getting anything in this so called MNK expansion...

So does this mean that monk doesnt get any text at all I was planning to level monk viva msq for the dialuage is it a waste to do so

You're in luck since all you have to do is switch to healer and go to an inn and rewatch the cutscene in the journal. When you do that it will still work with the job you chose. It's why I checked it out afterwards by switching to nin.

There are also Race and Gender Specific dialogues in 4.0 MSQ as well.

The game was always really on it for gendered dialogue, but SB has many more notes for race, job, and GC rank and alliance, all for which I say, "Thank you, and it's about time."

Well i am not talking about the "sir" and "mistress" stuff as that is relatively minor and hardly "unique".

I am talking full on Unique dialogues exclusively for the Female and Male Genders that can only happen based on the character's gender.

While male characters are treated with a certain level of repect the female character will get some "girls weak" comments and "get back into the kitchen" treatments due to the NPCs involved in this certain area of the MSQ.

Do Ninjas get specific dialogues during the sniping quests with Yugiri?

It may just require having the soulstone because I got that dialog while playing Paladin.

I have to come at you for this because FFXIV's complete and utter lack of "ladies are weaker by nature" sexism in any form of the game was always a conscious decision in writing and portrayal that I've greatly appreciated.

Adding that to a game that's established so many powerful female characters, both heroic and villainous, only to start peppering in gross, sexist dialogue of that ilk now would be mind-numbing at best and a disservice to what's been established by the creative.

TLDR: Keep that frail gender garbage in the garbage where it belongs.

They do acknowledge your strength in the end, but they admit that they wouldn't accept you as one of their own because you're a woman. Because that's how it's always been for them. It's not sexism for the sake of sexism, it has a lore reasoning.

Yep. The NPCs involved act this way and provided these Male and Female unique dialogues because it is their culture. It embrace the actual lore of these NPCs and do no shy away from what it has been established what their culture is like which for these bunch of NPCs is a Male dominant culture as the lore stated for these NPCs.

It is actually quite reminiscent of what life was like for cultures that currently or once live as Tribes such as Native Americans. The male were chosen to grow up to be warriors for fighting other tirbes and hunting large game and the females were grown to perform gathering and cooking. It split the task required for their culture and was a normal thing for them as keeping the female safe away from the fighting was important since the females are the ones who give birth to children. Of course this is also why it leads to their different beliefs between males and females but also showed that female life was more valued than a male since if all females died in a tribe then the Tribe is garantee to be wiped out even if some males survived if not from being killed then simply over time.

Unfortunately SMN will never get acknowledged outside of their questline since we're supposed to be ''super rare''. Which is really weird considering how tied to allagan history summoners are. We don't even get cinematic screen time when every other class so far has. We can summon this big friggin Bahamut, and no one notices us. :(

There is sexism and then there are scientific physical facts, and that fact is demonstrated to the most extreme of levels in this game too. Look at Roe and Au Ra males compared to their women lol. In our world, a male can actually be smaller, shorter or thinner than a female and vice versa. In the world of FFXIV there is no such exception between the genders.

It's actually the opposite. It shows that they're keeping with established lore because the NPCs in question are culturally misogynist.
Incidentally, there's also another group that is the reverse, where the females are the breadwinners and the men stay in the kitchen

Of course, one should also consider the fact that in this world, being smaller and thinner does not seem to have ANY impact on your physical capability. Male or female, Lalafell tanks can weather brutal strikes just as capably as the burliest Roegadyn, for instance. It's actually a bit odd that any culture would develop a stay-in-the-kitchen attitude toward women - but it is also odd that any culture would marry their horses, and yet there's another Au Ra tribe that does just that. I guess some people are just weird. :P

Ninjas get a lot of special dialogue with Yugiri, sniping quest included.

Does Gotesu mention anything to you at all if you're a Samurai? Likewise if you're Red Mage for Alisaie?

Alisaie appears to not notice if you're a Red Mage, she'll mention a miqo'te that trained her in the arts and how she didn't take to normal rapiers but apparently doesn't put two and two together that you're one as well.

No but I beleive during a fight against a group of Lupin near the end of 4.0 there is a dialogue during the battle where the Lupin leader will mention the WoL faught against Samurai before but I am not certain that is based on if the player has SAM or not.

It's unfortunate that unlike her bit of ARR dialogue, you need to actually have the class equipped for her say anything, because she acted I had never touched the class at all as PLD.

I find it really weird you're trying to invoke "scientific facts" in this, a video game where race and sex are entirely cosmetic, and the whole universe is made out of magic at varying levels of physicality.

All my MNK hype, and Lyse never once wanted to have a brofist moment cause we both like punching things. I even wore the in game hooker dress to match with her and everything when she changed wardrobes.
