Who is still fickle-mind about Main Job?

Warrior -> is a tank where need to focus more but the current playstyle I love, with more FC, decimate and inner beast -> it is cool, however stance dancing need 50 gauge, no bloodbath and second wind and the path debuff... is something that minus point consider it is harder to tank now in deliverance.
PLD -> I know it is buffed up and it is my first job in ffxiv before I switch to dps. I only got it to about level 45. Whereby for stormblood preparation I get it to 60 too. I wish there a aoe enmity spam too.
Dark Knight -> a cool aoe magic tank. But I dislike about unable to use blood price without grit now.

Ok dps I have current main ninja, and a few to 60 -> monk, bard and machinist.

I really like Wide volley and grenado shot but they remove the range aoe Attack. Sometime I love to go easy and have fun by spamming one button. I thought of having either 1 as main but seeing the changes I think I'm not going to.

Monk -> punching is cool I thought there will be cool changes, skill... even thought there a ahmehameha dragon ball Attack when I first see the video. Now monk is off chart.
So now left ninja or samurai to choose. Or warrior but I'm not so pro in tanking...

Also had invested a lot in ninja too (muscle memory is there, my mentor is momo ninja yes the one in YouTube video.)
Samurai -> from what I see is cool, is a keep yourself busy and careful job to manage, a bunch of aoe Attack and final burst.. Also more buttons
I really can't decide. Wanna just have 1 combat job... and be full time gatherer and crafters... xd

I am also. When I first saw the trailer for ARR, all I wanted to be is a white mage.

So, I became one.

It's been a lot of fun playing a white mage too; but, I have several alts and along the way, I fell in love with monks and paladins.

You'll notice they are all the simpler jobs. Health issues keep me from enjoying the more complex jobs. Although, I do enjoy two classes which lead to more complex jobs, arcanist and rogue. Man, if only rogues didn't lead to ninja... *sigh* Let me be a bandit, a pirate, a swashbuckler, something other than a ninja with its complex mudras. *turns eyes to red mage* Hmmmm.

Now I'm trying to decide if I want to be a healer, a damage dealer, or a tank. On top of that, I definitely want to check out samurai and red mage.

Ultimately, it'll come down to which job is easy enough for me to play and is enjoyable at the same time. I'll only be able to make that decision through actual game play.

Every time big changes come people tend to either panic or overhype it.
Give it a month to get used to it.
I doubt SE made all these changes just to nerf a class or two so much that people find them unplayable.
Sure, a class you once liked might've changed its playstyle to something you don't enjoy as much and therefor chance job for something you enjoy more.

Personally I don't try to think too much about it.
I main DRK and from what I saw/seen I get mixed opinions.
But it might play out better than I think.

First point, you can edit your post to bypass character limit.

Myself, I'm already set on the jobs I'm playing. Paladin for the main archetype, Scholar and Machinist because COMPUTER SCREENS! As for any others, I'm fickle-minded about them.

It'll greatly depend on how the jobs actually end up playing - I always level them all and then just end up maining the one that clicks best.

I presently use NIN, PLD, and MCH for melee DPS, tank, and ranged DPS respectively (Will probably use WHM for heals once I get around to DoM classes).

I like all of the changes they've gotten in Stormblood, and can't wait to give them a spin.

For now I'll stick to main Mnk even new skills are kinda .. well .. meh.
Anyway,it could prove challenge to master the new skills at lv 70.
So I'm gonna give it my all.

Well I swapped my main from pld to drk, I said that I wouldn't go back to pld unless the changes in stormblood were fantastic.

Lo and behold the changes to pld are amazing and I love the changes to drk also. So now I'm not sure which to play.

I'm sticking with Monk because I want so badly for it to be good, but it's really hard when our new actions and traits seem like the Devs just don't care about it.

Unless the WHM changes are amazing, I'll probably be leveling either AST or perhaps RDM in Stormblood. I'll eventually get them all to 70 (I'm all 60 right now) but... still having trouble deciding between RDM/AST/BRD/BLM or maybe SAM which of those I will main.

I can't decide myself. At the moment I use ninja/summoner, or bard. Have BLM as a sentimental favorite, hoping to get back to that. Then there's the new ones as welll.... will stay open minded until I get to try them all out.

How could anyone even know their main before actually having tried playing the jobs? :)

I started playing a few months ago as Dragoon, and I have no intention to switch my main class yet at this time. Though I do have Paladin level capped as well, and I'm currently working on a White Mage. I'll probably level both of those classes to level 70 in Stormblood once I've completed the story and geared up for raiding on my Dragoon.

As for the new Stormblood classes, perhaps I'll check out Samurai once I've finished with my Paladins and White Mage. But I still have to choose between doing that and leveling a Summoner for ranged DPS.

Been a NIN main for so long that like you I have the muscle memory down pat. DRK comes in a close second and is arguably my favorite job, I just don't normally like tanking anything other than dungeons. And I was very susceptible to the doom and gloom that drk was getting right after the media tour. But I'm reserving judgements until I see the final product. One thing is for sure, I'm definitely maining SAM for SB. But I will still get my other classes to 70, at least the ones that I currently have at 60. We'll see what happens, but im pretty optimistic about SB right now.

I came into the game wanting to be a SCH. I felt it played the closest to my main in FFXI, which was RDM. One expansion was all it took to take everything away I loved about that job. So trust me when I say I know how it feels to see your favorite job turn into a shadow of its former self.

Along the way of becoming a SCH, I had to level CNJ and I fell in love and decided that I would main both SCH and WHM. I am very excited about 4.0 WHM and still plan to put full effort into the job. SCH though? The first job I intended to main is in danger of being dropped. I have to play 4.0 for a good month or so before any long term decisions are made, but the excitement of playing SCH just isn't there right now. I am hoping it returns.

But hanging out in the shadows, is my past love of RDM. I am and always will be a healer to my very core, but taking on a DPS main is definitely a possibility. I just have to see how it plays, but right now I absolutely love what I see. My impression of this RDM is how RDM should have been in XI.

I mained PLD and SCH during ARR, WAR and SCH again for HW. I was going to stay as WAR, but were making a new static and we found an amazing WAR, so seeing PLD got a buff too, I'm going back to it like the good old times.

It's ironic that a thread like this exists in a game where they claim we can play all jobs haha. I'd like to play SMN/AST/BRD/RDM efficiently, but with how they lock out gear weekly, its kind of hard to play them all at their max...so I'll probably stick with SMN, as usual.

Scholar is one of the jobs where I either lover it or hate it. A bit too much micromanaging is required to be a good one which goes against my true need for a simple job.

As far as red mage, I adored the job in the original Final Fantasy game. Not only did it have the coolest look, it had a bit of everything.

While I know the new red mage will have little to do with my quaint memory of red and white pixels, I'm still fond of the idea of it, and look forward to giving the job a spin as soon as I can. :D

Started as WAR, currently main a WAR, and will keep playing WAR. If my FC says I need to PLD or DRK for them, I was going to level them up anyway, but I will always be WAR first, everything else second.

I donno, my fickle is in a bit of a different way. My main character Lin, will still always be a dragoon. But Red Mage was my main in FFXI as Hyrist, so I will likely be playing that again as well. So, it's more fickleness of how much am I going to be playing each character. (Advantage, me as I get twice the weekly lockouts and bonuses at least so long as I put the work in.) But I don't really have a problem dual-maining.

I like both sophistication and simplicity, which is why I believe I ultimately decided to main both SCH and WHM respectively. But I also remember the lore surrounding these two jobs as another big reason for it too, and I continue to reflect on that with SCH when considering dropping it. If it can continue to grow towards that military elite feel in both terms of looks and ability, I will keep it without question. WHM is more how I am in real life, and the game continues to nurture that image.

I also adored RDM in the original, and they really went for flashy here. The hype has been crazy, but I can't lie and have to admit that I couldn't help being swept away by it as well. I just haven't expressed it much here. My FC would tell you that I haven't been able to shut up about it since first preview of the job. :)

As someone that has done all I have as a PLD with all its problems and limitations I feel vindicated personally. So I'm maining PLD as I would have anyway but this time itll be great. I don't see my self worring to much after that for the other classes. I've been working a bit on the side as a MCH and its a fun job so it'll get leveled too sooner or later. But just like HW, after PLD comes Miner. Needs dat moniezzz.

I am trying to keep my mind settled on SMN but red mage has been calling me out making me having it hard to choose

Yeah making gil without being a crafter has been the biggest problem for me. I might have to break down and do crafting/gathering on my main - something I'm going to have to do anyways if I want to complete the beastmen stories.

I am slightly disappointed how simplistic Dragoon looks, especially as I never disliked keeping BotD up. Once you got the timing down, it wasn't bad. That being said, it got a number of new toys and I love having an actual aoe combo instead of spamming Doom Spike a million times. I will plan to give Samurai a whirl though because it looks amazing. So it's a toss up which I ultimately side with.

On the tank side of things, I am a bit more uncertain. Warrior looks fun but the more information released, the more it sounds like the job underwent a gutting. I love Dark Knight even if I wound up playing Warrior more recently, but those changes to Paladin look fantastic. Similar opinion on healers. Despite my vocal criticise, I like White Mage for its damage potential alongside healing. But what we know currently about the Lilies is incredibly underwhelming. So I'm leaning on Astro. I've yet to play Scholar. So I can't comment much on it besides rip Bane.

Main job = Paladin through and through.
Though, I am trying other jobs out here and there, but I feel Paladin just fits my character best.

Healer was always my main class in any games, maybe except one (dark ages, was a warrior/gladiator), even when people were going ape sheep about whm and the lilies, i still didn't care and that wouldn't stop me from playing the class i enjoy the most out of the game. Why you tell yourself? Because i don't care about what the minority says (talking to you raiders, lmao).

I'm not fickle minded about having a main. I'm decisively an altoholic.

I've usually mained healer, mostly out of necessity. In ARR I intended to play SMN, but played through the story as SCH instead, and kept with it. In HW I switched to maining DRK for a while, but we had a lot of tanks in our FC, so I ended up just raising AST and even though it's not necessarily my favourite job, it's the one I seem to do all my group content on now so I guess it's my main.

SMN is my best geared job right now, but I dont actually like it that much. In fact I havent really enjoyed any of the DPS in HW, I found them all aggravating to play. With SB on the horizon, Im hoping to make RDM my new main, but I cant decide til I actually play it. I'd love to play a DPS for once and it looks like the sort of job I'd really enjoy. If not that, BRD looks quite fun again, and if the button bloat is reduced maybe I'll go back to NIN. If none of those work out, DRK or AST it is again.

BRD is my secondary. I have been looking at PLD to round out my role availability for my friends, but that would be later after I've completed each story chunk and outfitted my main and secondary.
