[Devs] Add high-end content for light party too, please

There is ifrit, DH, now mog... next patch another primal for full party ?

Please devs, add some content that allows only light party to enter 4/4 and will be on similiar level like ifrit or DH, etc. So some people at least could play end-game content.

I played Ifirt like 9x, DH 3x and I wonder if I will be lucky enough to find party for mog.
No everyone can find party SE (I am not from NA or JP and I am having hard times to find party for these events - impossible). I hope I am not alone and ppl will support this 4/4 raid idea. Thank you.

I agree with adding more 4/4 content but not for the reasons you listed. I'm always up for new and exciting content, even with a party limitation on it.

Your issue seems to be that you're in a bad timezone for your server and I'm assuming you're also not in a Linkshell. I would first suggest you try to remedy a few of those issues like find a Linkshell with a number of members active in your timezone that you can play it.

Also SE is releasing the new party search feature so that should make things a little easier.

I don't disagree, bu I much rather see conent out for larger groups and raid parties long before we bother making content for 1/2 parties. From what I can tell, you folks are the minority wanting half party content over full or raid party content.

I much rather see 2-3 party needed content (16-24 man raid content) implemented before I ever see 1/2 a party content implimented.

While I don't mind content that requires a higher level of players, I much prefer grouping with a smaller(and thus much more easily managed) group of like-minded friends than a bunch of randoms with unclear motivations that would leave the party at the drop of a hat. Final Fantasy was always balanced towards smaller groups anyhow. It was always strange to me how they increased the party size to 6 in FFXI.

They could release a low man version of the content they release, but the rewards yielded would be something completely underwhelming compared to the big groups.

That is the reason it's not "light parties" like every other Final Fantasy.

Instead of restricting players into 4/4 parties or 8/8 why not create events that scale based on number of players in the party?

Sure it would be more difficult to balance each encounter, but what about those times when you want to do Ifrit but can only manage 6/8 members?

They should lower down the restrictions on member allowances but leave the difficulty alone.

Yes please on this. 8 is a really uncomfortable number for many LS, sometimes getting 8 people is hard, others you get more than 8 but short of 16...

No offence, but if your having trouble mustering up 8 players in a linkshell, its much more reasonable to get a better linkshell over attempting to convinve SE they need to add 1/2 group content based on your LS limitations.

It's 2:45 in the afternoon on Thursday. at this moment 15 people in your LS are on, 3 are AFK, 3 are new(low level), 4 are in a SH and the other 5 are gathering for Ifrit, or the Moogles, or for what ever else that REQUIRES 8/8.
Why not just allow the 5/8 PT go and fight Ifrit, just scale the difficulty, or allow them to enter.

I don't think anything in FFXI required a set number of members to enter just a minimum. Why do you need a requirement for XIV?

Yoshi-P said he was going to be making 4 and 8 party content. I see nothing unreasonable about this request.

I will agree however that lower man content should be made at least until 2.0. I don't think SE will manage to secure many subscriptions in this pseudo-beta period.

Eight is a very small number especially if you compare it to other MMORPGs. However, this is irrelevant considering the low population.

To answer that, because the "endgame" content needs expanded, and they cannot add content and new loot if they are spending that time adjusting content to scale down and creating a scaled down loot table.

Again, my stance is that you need to grow your LS and expand your friends list, or develope a friends list or join a LS with players more akin to your play schedule over diverting SE development resources to adjust the game around your issues as an individual. I can give 1000 reasons they could tailor the game to my personal needs as anyone can, it does not mean it feasable to brush off eveyone else to tailor to those needs.

I have nothing against them removing the 8/8 limitation so folks can opt to go in shorthanded if they desire though.

I mean, I could be wrong, but I would be willing to bet those wanting 1/2 group content is certainly a very small majority.

I have to agree, Making all of the High level Content 8/8 is very exclusionary. We need light party content to give people something to do when their entire LS isn't on atm.

there's re NM's SH's darkhold i think they allow 4 or 6 now instead of 8, cant remember. so the only 2 things in game will be moogle and ifirt that require 8 people.

For most people, content like Darkhold is impossible without 8 people.

You will find a party, the party search feature is coming in for that exact reason. Also, you can simply join an endgame linkshell with plenty of people willing to do those things.

Still, having content specifically designed for 4-persons parties would be fun too.

As long as the content isn't comparable to Primal battles or anything that would offer better rewards -- Why would anyone want to do content with more people if they can get just as good if not better rewards by soloing or with 2 others? This is the problem with MMORPGs lately, they went from a social type of game to lone wolf heaven, almost a glorified single player game with restrictions given needing to take into consideration network and engine management.

I seen a comment that said "I don't want to play with everyone" why would you play a video game genre that was originally designed because people wanted to play with everyone? Times do change, yeah but MMORPG is very much a stagnant genre -- New MMOs may come out but they sure do accommodate the "single player" play style lately that is better left for offline gaming.

In the future I'm pretty sure there will be more content for light parties, which from what I remember Yoshida said mostly lowerish - mid level content would be for light parties while high level content would be for full parties, and rightfully so.

I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with you on that one. In an ideal world everyone who wanted to do high-level content would have access to 7 other individuals at all times. But this is far from ideal. Sure, I would love to have all my friends join up, but I only managed to get 3. So we are automatically excluded from high-level content due to circumstance? That's just wrong, imo.

That said, I agree that the best rewards should be reserved for the harder (full party) content. Yet at the same time there is no reason they can't build a low-man version of high-level content with good loot, though noticeably less so than the full-party content. If other developers can manage to pull off this kind of high-level content balance, what excuse does SE have to be so exclusive?

You're excluded because...? You can get another person to fill that slot. That's the beauty of an MMO. You have hundreds of people in one server; to accommodate and realize the idea of an MMO.
When I think of an MMO, I think of content designed for many players.
When I turn on my PS3, I play a game alone OR I can pop in CoD and play with 17 other people! That's 10 more people than the required raid party in an -MMO-

Why must the MMO genre be considerate of people who don't know how to work up the courage to recruit people? Why not become part of the community instead of hanging out with your friends?

You can enter DH with a light party

I would like 4man content. But I dont want scaled versions of ifrit or moogle.

I want a dungeon at 45-50 built for 4 people. like how totorak was built for 4 people.

I want it to have loot, but not as good as the 8 man content. Like an interim, or if an 8 man group is struggling with ifrit, they can farm the 4man in 2 groups to get a few upgrades and try again.

WoW and SW:TOR has a small and large party option for their dungeons. What is wrong with options? I think some people here are just elitists that don't want 4-man groups doing content they had to have 8 people for.

You can either scale the difficulty back and lower the reward % or keep the same difficulty and same reward %. Risk = reward, not party size = reward. If a 4-man group can kill the same difficulty Ifrit hard mode just as well as your 8-man, then maybe you 8-man groups should pull up your big boy pants.

I don't think you get that there are two kinds of people: Those I know and have close bonds to, and everyone else. If I want to just go experience content I can do so with random strangers, sure. But when I want to experience content with my close, personal friends, I cannot do so because there's no way in hell I'll risk ruining that time by adding some random person to fill in the gaps.

Not all high level content has to provide loot for each single body part for each single class/job.

I think providing high level, light party content, adds diversity and depth to the game and should not be seen as inferior to full party content. Similarly, I don't think the drops should be inferior, but rather complementary.

It's more of akin to the concept of an MMO. I don't think difficulty is the issue here since difficulty could be aligned with any number of factors.
The choices you speak of would deter people from completing the high volume content; simply because you could bring less people and not have to compete with them for loot.
You mention how gear should be distributed among different amounts of content; just like in XI. That does work, but the same people complaining about party size; would continue to complain about not being able to get a specific piece, because the content is intended for many people.
I'm all for choices, but there has to be a line drawn somewhere that tells these people to fathom the concept of an MMO.

The whole risk = reward...that's crap. The content should be designed with the high number of people in mind. If it becomes feasible with less people, there should be some adjustments made to make sure people are being challenged.

Nothing is wrong with options - What's wrong is if you negate the need for high level full party content, human nature is an interesting thing, if you lay out these options for people:

- 8 people, hard content with (great reward)

Can you realistically say people won't ignore the 8 people content in favor of doing it with 4 people or less at the chance of getting the same reward?

In FFXI, a "FULL PARTY" is 18 people, aka a full alliance. A group of six would be considered a "Light Party" for that game. So please Lucifer, they did follow their trend of a "Small Group" for content; the sizes were different. Now SE is trying to focus more on a 4~8 person content. We will probably have more 4 person content at 50+, but for now, we will have to live with 4-man parties being for lower level content until 2.0. I agree with the request.

Examples for Lucifer before he disagrees automatically. Dynamis: 1~64 -- Salvage: 6 -- Limbus: 18 -- Assault -- 6 -- Sky 18 -- Sea -- 18 (Not counting multiple alliances. The most technically in "one group") -- HNM: 18 (Not counting multiple alliances. The most technically in "one group") -- NM: 1~18 etc. So yes, SE has been like a normal MMO where you can bring random people to do "content" and not required friends. Your "Friends" in an rpg were anywhere from 2~8+ in their offline versions. So please, your argument about anything why? inb4Derp

I'm all for lowman content or at the very least letting us enter most fights with less people, like how darkhold and toto-rak currently are now. That said, I haven't had any issues getting competent players for Ifrit through shouts, so having 6-7 LS players on at once hasn't been too big an issue for me yet.

yes its a mmo .. that's pretty much becoming the most casual of all time... so if its gonna be casual be that and stop straddling the fence for gods sake. this game still has no identity. by implementing what the op suggested at least u provide more content by allowing less restriction on party size its not like the op was asking to let us be able to solo the content .. for instance why when darkhold became able to be entered with 4-8 people why not just have a 4 man mode where the enemies were scaled to b a hard challenge for that size party. i understand its a mmo, but you need to look at big picture most people that came from 11 aren't kids anymore and some never were so the days of huge linkshells when you had people on all day and available for most /all events is a done deal also. and now those people are the majority. just my 2 cents.
