My Japanese isn't too sharp, but it looks like the patch may be pushed back to 12/16

Then that means 2 more days before the game is screwed up (mostly for DoMs).
NO! NO! NOOOOOO! NO GOD NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Two less days to try 1.20 out before charging starts!
gogogogogogo SE!

G(M)oogle Translated.... makes perfect sense ! (still half-clueless)
gutted :( some1 wake me up on friday
yea i was just about to go buy a bottle of nyquil and slam the whole thing in hopes of waking up on wednesday, now i think ill need 2 bottles.
Sounds like they found a game breaking bug that is causing them to delay 2 more days to fix it
its either that or the game will crash nonstop...
At least on the bright side. Freezing rain and snow is hitting me this Thursday so I don't have much else to do.
to be fair. although i'm gutted, i would be more upset with a game i can't play than i am with a possible 2 day wait
wow, how terrible is the original programming?
id bet you if they just used a game engine that worked from the get go this update would have taken half the time to create.
Here's a synopsis of what he said in Japanese:
They were running some final checks on the new patch when they ran into a serious bug involving the market search. They've made some emergency fixes, and will be implementing one more countermeasure today. After that they need to run further checks to make sure that everything is stable.
At this point we're guaranteed a delay of at least two days. They were planning on releasing the patch on the morning of the Wednesday the 14th (a morning release Japan time would have been Tuesday evening in the U.S.), but that's been pushed back until at least the 16th.
/sarcasm
i'm not pointing fingers but all you ppl that wanted to buy direct from the market ward. tut tut
Market search? But I tought we won;t be able to search until 1.21. In 1.20 we were supposed to only get direct buying...
Until 16th.. hmm 1 more day and it will be weekend. Who wants to bet we will have to wait 1 more week? ^^

I know it's going to go unappreciated here because a lot of people are in a Yoshi love cult but here goes nothing lol
Whilst everyone is defending SE, you have to admit, a delay ontop of a delay is pretty unproffesional for a service we're expected to start paying for next month.
And whilst im sure people will always retort with, then don't pay, it doesn't change how unorganized they are.
A delay means nothing unless the lodestone had the patch set for a certain date, and that date get delayed. Yoshida-san was careful this patch. It's almost like he was expecting a delay, since I feel like if it were any other patch, the lodestone would have already been updated with a patch date.
Anyway, it's no big deal really. It's coming out Thursday vs it coming out Tuesday originally. Gives most of us time to finish up the last of our finals, and it's closer to the weekend. Plus the anticipation is greater.
Not unprofessional at all... and I am happy they found this bug before it got out and caused the servers to start crashing... actually it is very professional of them to come out and say they are going to have to delay due to finding said bug. I would say it would be sort of unprofessional if they found the bug but pushed out the patch anyways because they didn't want to delay the patch any more.
the cat is bemused =-.-=
So it means nothing that he said we'd get it the end of November, then that it would be delayed 10 days, which then became 14, which then became 16 at the earliest? Anticipation is fine, until it drags on too long and becomes annoyance.
I believe it was stated end of nov early dec... then they said it would be delayed and would be coming the 14... now they found a pretty bad bug from the sounds of it... would you rather a delay to fix said bug and get a good patch out or just push the patch out with the bug and hope for the best?
the cat is bemused =-.-=
so your saying its acceptable to release a patch with a gamebreaking bug?
gotcha
releasing a broken patch vs delaying it a few days, its all about which is the lesser of 2 evils, and anyone whos ever played a real "broken patch" in any mmo would tell you its better to delay a patch by a measly 2 days to fix it vs not being able to log on cuz the server is always crashed(in which case theyd be waiting to log on anyway)
it's because u never seen a game with dateline laid out for you 2 year before......... other company would simply keep it quiet until they finish the patches then announces maintenance date and you would never know if they delayed the patch or behind schedule because players are not expecting when it will come. Logic, can you have it?
Right that is because some other games just push it out then either wait till a player finds it and goes woops we didn't know about that *HOTFIX* or they just later go *HOTFIX* "we found this bug in the system and fixed it" or "sorry but the spell XXX for class ZZZ had a bug where it incorrectly made the spell do *STUPID* damage and one shot everything. This has been fixed". Yeah never knew any games that ever did that...
In the end I don't care they found a bug and they are fixing it and so the patch gets pushed back a few days... nothing big... I mean its not like you had scheduled time off so you could be right there and first person on the server to play with the new patch... I mean you didn't did you?

A game has never gone under such severe repair as this one.
When you've lost your client's trust, the last thing you want to do is give them empty promises.
Every patch is like this, if it were just this one off time, it wouldn't be an issue.
Theres only so much delay's/empty promises people are going to endure before they grow impatient.
Glad someone appreciated it.
