I don't see the matter in cheating its ilvl. I prefer someone cheating its ilvl to enter a pf and still farm smoothly than lots of those full geared casu that keep us wiping.
good, no more noobs wearing wrong ones by accident.
So glad for this change. Wont see people cheating the ilvl requirments with the wrong class equipped. Saw this way too often.
Ugh. That's going to hurt glamour options. Not cool.
My thoughts exactly. Inv space is already really limited with how our glamor system works so when I get a set of accessories that look the same on all jobs, I just usually get the tank ones since I main a tank as it seems pretty silly to have 5 sets of the same accessories. In most cases they're easy to farm again, but it really sucks for something like the GARO event where you would have to get 5 sets of the same accessories because they're only obtainable for a limited time (unless you can grab them from the calamity salvager?)
Yeah it's more role based PvP, like GW2 where you went in as lets say a Guardian and your HP would be X amount just like an elementalist had X amount of HP, tanks will have 12500, healers/casters like 10k, melee probably 11k so we'll see when PvP actually comes which i'm surprisingly excited for more PvP as the Garo event revitalized my love for Frontlines.
The bold is not relevant anyway once 4.0 hits, he even said "gear is only for looks"
Also people can still bypass ilevel by high right (eaiser gear to get) with low left. Hope this means no crafting and gathering gear for combat jobs.
I have concerns.
Mostly Glamor concerns.
I hope all the future accessories will share aesthetics, so they aren't locked from use just because you're a different job.
I also hope this isn't retroactive, there are some accessories I like the looks of but they have looks that vary based on which job they are designed for.
The allegan ones in particular.
I liked how those looked, and there are different colored ones, which are locked into specific jobs having a specific color.
I'd hate to have my accessory color locked just because I'm on a job that SE decided that's what that job has to use.
This is a change I gladly welcome. Too many times have I seen players with incorrect right sides doing high level stuff, this would be a nice wake-up call for them.
Goodbye replacing crappy healers in old content by using my usually better healing accs on blm/smn.
Also reduces the ability to buff your hp when you gear is barely making ilvl, or turning a dps into an OT easier by using tank accs...
Indifferent on this issue really, tho its gunna cause nightmares for the glamour system. Well maybe itll accelerate work on a revamp of that system when it inevitably makes inventory issues even worse.
THANK. GOD.
This was honestly one of the biggest changes I was hoping for and gets rid of what I personally think is a massive problem with terrible, lazy players.
I don't think the gear cheating was the main focus of this lol.
It's a tank nerf.
Wait I've been buying the proto ultima monk off pieces for samurai. Does this mean I've wasted weeks of tokens?
That's not an improvement. That extra hp let me survive bad situations and saved the day.
I guess I'm in the few exceptions that were using a few other job's accessories knowing what to do and why. But, at the end, it were just one ring to me. Will deal with it and welcome the change too, for one that uses them appropriately, another hundred were trolling so the change is welcome.
Tbh it wasn't a dig at anyone just stating that what was the case is no longer that, didn't really experience the trolling factor everyone talks about but I did laugh a little when I saw casters using dbl vit acc in echo savage pfs when my statics members never needed to do that pre echo. Ik some old instances it became invaluable but with this tier my stance was more or less if you're using a vit acc in this tier then your basically saying your not good enough at following mechs.
Oh yeah? You like seeing a user with a full set on the right side that's for another class? Gear under the recommended ilvl (like ppl usually do in void ark, they're barely 140-150 with 200+ acc.) and proceed to be a leech and just get killed by a normal aoe that everyone else survive.
Not sure how it could be seen as a tank nerf... Tanks wear VIT accessories, just as they should, since they provide just as much DPS as STR, but with added HP as well. They'll wear the same accessories before and after this change.
It's more a nerf for DPS and healers who might wear VIT pieces for the extra survivability. They will no longer be able to do so.
I'm not "free bashing" you, sorry if you've taken it personally. Ik people used them early in the tier and I can appreciate why some did when we weren't over geared, I think it's now laughable when you see vit acc In post echo savage content when everyone's already over geared. If they are at this point in the patch cycle wearing vit acc still then HP isn't thier issue and they need to look into that, none of the raid content was designed with the intention of non-tank classes having to use vit acc.
Imo it'll make early progression a little more awkward but all the same it's a welcome change, and as you said previously you're not against it just you used them appropriately but will adapt.
Side note: I agree pugging savage is a nightmare.
By the time I open this topic PvP was yet to be cover and I forgot to update, thx for pointing it out.
Ninjas are melee dps and don't share acc with other melee dps but with ranged dps, so no, future acc will be class locked (slaying for DRG/SAM/MNK for example) like any other piece of gear.
I won't be able to use my Astral Bracelet for all my classes? It's the only piece of jewelry I actually like. D:
I'm not trying to be pedantic, saying they are class locked confused someone as they interpreted it as locked to monk only, which in itself isn't a class it's a job, so I understand what the title means ^^
It's all perspective I guess, I'd say role locked as in str dps only, dex dps only etc. Either way it's irrelevant people can term the restriction however they want, it was simply a case of your wording confused someone and all I did was clarify it for them.
I blame square xD for having str, dex classes etc but then also calling the base versions of jobs "classes" I can see why people missinterpret meanings.
No longer DoL and DoH gear in instances?
But even if you were nitpicking, is still false to mention roles instead of jobs, because those acc will be locked behind jobs (but even that is not 100% accurate, because the only gear locked behind job are relics. Any other is also viable to classes too) and not roles.
