Accuracy > Direct Hit is DPS Substat
Parry > Tenacity is Tank Substat

One of the major effects of these changes is that far more gear will be "good."

No more complaints from tanks about accuracy/parry pieces.

People have asked for both those stats to be removed forever and blocking being able to block magic damage brings pld way back into the forefront for main tanking.

Everything on tonight's Live Letter was a step into the right direction.
The skill and stat changes and the PvP changes.
I'm happy with everything that was announced.
Even If I'm not very pro-jump potion if this will result into more people flowing into XIV then so be it.

My guess would be the actual gear is given their role-equivalent. DPS get Direct Hit, Tanks Tenacity, and Healers Piety. IF this ends up true then expect tanks to have some sky-high secondaries...

Piety gear will remain the same probably, because Healer gear has no accuracy currently.

Older gear probably, but yeah, everything except for Healer Relic 3.0 doesn't have accuracy

Melds are what I am least worried about, though. If SB works like HW did, the anima will last quite a while, but with accuracy no longer needed, the 120 points into it are basically wasted.

But seeing as they said (paraphrasing here) "Accuracy and Parry are being removed from gear, Tanks will get Tenacity, DPS Direct Hit, and Piety becomes Healer-Only on gear" I'd HOPE it would be a direct change over... we'll find out June 16th

My guess is that the Accuracy will just get voided on your weapon and you'll be able to allocate the stats to whatever else. But I could be wrong.

From what i can find it was mentioned that accuracy would be replaced with the direct-hit substat. And the battle team mentioned heavens eye giving the replaced substat as well. I couldn't find where they said dps only, I'll look for that later. It seems like you shouldn't have to worry, but keep an eye out in any case. ;)

Yoshi-P mentioned that accuracy would be replaced by a substat called "Direct Hit" and only applies to DPS classes. (It was around the same time he started talking about how Parry would be replaced by a stat they called "Tenacity". I'm sure there will be a digest available in the next several days.)

As to how they'll be allocated for any healers that put accuracy in their relics, well... I suppose we'll see come Stormblood.

I am slightly disappointed that they did not discuss any changes to Skill Speed.
