So with the server moves everyone on south america got from 240 to 300+ ping , and im not exaggerating , even if we cannot get a south america sever an us east one would do , we are used to playng with 160-180 ping , but 240 to 300 is too much :/

My friend in Peru doesn't speak English and has requested me to please post this.
Will it be possible to consider having a server located in south America? I'm not sure how big the fan base is over there.
I'm saddened to hear that one of my best friends and in real life is thinking of leaving the game due to the server move. He is from Peru and his ping has gone from 210 to 270 with spikes of 310.
I hope you will consider this for near future as many people in south America do play the game too
Thanks
Probably about a 1% chance.
I will show my support for this. SA deserves a strong connection.
How many topics are you going to make about this?
Either a SA server or an american east coast one, which would make even more people happy. I quit my static and the game, but still have a little hope that SE will fix it for us so I can come back.
I can see this if there is a large enough of a player bass to fund the location.
Would Texas give SA the routing they need or does it have to be on the east coast? I am really wondering if they simply moved to the Texas data center if it would prevented this whole mess

Can you guys run ping tests to where this place is?
Instead of worrying if they have the money I'll go ahead and support our neighbors. The more people that can play the better.
To deny them a server doesn't make our community better
Let square enix decide if they have enough money or not.
You have my support.
Rather than SA server, i'd be happy to have the montral again for eastern players. I was so happy with my 100 ms that i'd kill to have it back lol
I absolutely support a datacenter for SA.
If putting one in SA isn't an option, then another one with their NTT friends in Dallas would be the next best thing. On top of SA players, I'm sure lots of NA players would move to the new worlds as well.
Why tell a story if nobody else can enjoy it? I support this

@ the actual topic. I think it could be done if there was high enough demand, but if it DID happen it would be for the existing languages of the game. Localizing the game into Spanish/Portuguese would take a colossal amount of resources this late into things.
not going to happen, there's only a few thousand at most
A few thousand? I heard there were 3 million
It's fun pulling numbers.
Why not leave numbers to square enix?
Just going to go out and say this: While I do appreciate your plight, the game is still quite playable at high ping. I'm anywhere from 150-250 to the JP datacenter that I play on and I know the Australians are at 250-300+ ping from their home. I know a few Austrailians that have cleared all of Savage raid content (I, myself, do not do it because I don't want to), so... it's possible. The game is playable you just need to learn to adjust a bit that's all. There's a YouTuber from Australia by the name of Ethys Asher, go ask him about 240-300 ping. =p
I doubt they are finished tweaking the details, or at least I hope. I live practically next door to Sac, CA and my game hangs now a lot in dungeons/PotD. I checked my character on the JP server I play at and do not have this issue at all lol. Should probably give it some time before we start sharpening the pitchforks.
Hate to be the bad guy, but this is not going to happen, because this is not a server issue, it's an infrastructure one, SA should be getting 200ms max, the problem is not the distance but how the connections are being routed.
I'm getting 176-190ms from Spain, and even Argentina is actually closer to the severs than my country, as you can see the problem resides in how poorly the ISPs are administrating the routing and infrastructures there, SE is not going to waste money on an issue that must be solved by someone else.
The thing is VPNs are virtual networks as the name says, these use the same infrastructures but with different protocols (and as i said it's routing and infrastructure), with some exceptons, but these are not used for gaming VPNs but as direct connections between research centers or some big companies.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against a SA sever, i just can't see SE investing money on it, as they don't invest it in a Spanish localization.
I also don't see it happening. I would much prefer the old location restored or a new east coast database. At least this would help the americans which are the majority and seem to be having lots of issues with this transfer as well. We need to help each other and voice and make noise so SE has to intervene.
I don't think there's really anyone that wouldn't support better connection for people. I'd imagine if someone said they have a want for servers to be set up in every city in the world, no one would really be against it. For the same reason why they won't do that though, is likely going to be the same reason why an SA server is unlikely. I would certainly be pleasantly surprised however if their overall income from SA would justify the time, investment, and upkeep to do it.
