Maintenance woes...

That time when your first choice of game goes on maintenance for two days, so you boot up your second choice of game... only to find that it's on maintenance too.

Thanks Square Enix and Zenimax for lining that up so well. :rolleyes:

Play VR with friends if you have it. Or Diablo 3..FFXI? Hm.. Join your fc in discord and get on some other game. :P My FC plays stuff like '7 Days To Die' and 'Ark: Survival Evolved' with me. Its going to be a long 2 days \o/

What kinds of books? Anything good? I'm always on the lookout for fantasy books to dive into (though other genres are fine too).

As for me, I've been playing a ton of Heroes of the Storm lately, so I haven't been on XIV much at all anyway. I had planned to do some PVP tonight, but this thread reminded me that there's maintenance so scrap that haha. More HotS it is!

I have just started reading the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett, I am loving it.

I'll try to unlock all the achievements in Nier: Automata.

Whats sad is, we only get 1 day added to our account for the game being down 2 days.

I wonder, EU/JP accounts. Do they get the day added too? Which case doesnt make sense if NA only gets credit for one while the other gets written off as "Normal maint" in that case.

Think its only for people on NA servers since we have the longer downtime.

It is better than nothing. They do absolutely need to do this though in order to further improve the QOL of the game.

On the previous transfer it didn't make sense give a free server transfer to NA players that chosen to play in EU servers, but they got it anyway.

It is "Schadenfreude" without the U <3

Also ye even if there is like 2 days Maint. for Murricans it may be a good time now to try other games/other stuff. It's just sad that we had to cap/finish WT etc. way earlier than usual.

PS: My guess would be that we have another 2 days Maint. for Stormblood and that would be for everyone then. :o

The eligibility just indicates your active status. Nothing in regards to the server you play on.

Wait, ESO is down too? I *just* downloaded it to play while FFXIV is down.

TY, I was editing the post on an ipad which has the absolute worst spell check and keyboard I've ever used. I tried 3 times to correct the spelling and each time iPad thought it needed to add url on the end of it as well. So I gave up after at least managing to get the 'url' removed. I had planned to fix it this morning, but you've provided the correction so I will leave as is.

Finals are this week so there is studying to be done...also I need to go get my hair done, it's thick and down past my bum so that takes like 6 hours...lol I am, in a way, thankful for the maintenance as I can get all this stuff done xD

Oh and books...I looove to read:)

Japan and EU servers are open... personally I'm spending a little time on Chocobo today leveling a conjurer. :)

friends keep bugging me to try out BDO, however after downloading that trial, took forever and it wasn't my connections fault, there was maintenance as well. But since I have to work overtime this week, or well I arranged working overtime, to be able to take off during SB launch, I decided to just go to bed and that was the best decision I've made all week. I can see your point here, but it's always like that, one game goes down for maintenance and every other game follows lol

I don't mind, this is giving me time to catch up on laundry and dishes and contemplate which of several character designs to fantasia to for 4.0...

Considering I'm getting Injustice 2 tonight and I have games that I've been neglecting, I think I'm covered for the server move.

Steam library says server maintenance can go on for maybe 3 years before I run out of alternate games to play.

Still...I was making decent grindy progress on on all my pre-SB goals. :(

I put off my art final until the last minute...and I need to finish it tonight oh my god. *panic attack*

I like light fantasy rather than the more heavy stuff, but I can give a few of my favorite books as recommendations:

1. American Gods - Neil Gaiman. They just made it into a TV show, so now is a good time to read the book.

2. A Dirty Job - Christopher Moore. A beta nerd gets turned into a grim reaper of sorts. Shenanigans ensue. Very funny and touching read. (I also love his book, Lamb. Who knew he could make the lost years of Jesus so funny?)

3. The Dark Jewels trilogy - Anne Bishop. A bit grim with some light touches. It's a more feminine fantasy series.

4. Ready Player One - Ernst Cline. A story about a guy who wants to live in an MMO and win a contest to take over the entire thing for finding Easter Eggs. Not the best written book, but a fun read. Soon to be a movie.

5. Deep Secret - Diana Wynne Jones. Magic and alternate worlds collide at a fantasy convention.

Thankfully I've still been able to play today, but it looks like the game will be closed for me tomorrow as well.

I'll probably be spending my time working on a project in RPG Maker that I've started recently, and maybe play some TF2 in-between.

I'm going to binge watch SG-1.

Returning to No Man's Sky for a couple of days.

we're getting our 12 leve allowances right? Will the servers being off so long not count the reset days?
